As many of you saw, the new LAnd of the Dead movie has a shockwave game on the site. I sniffed the traffic to find the direct download, just right click and save:

http://www.landofthedeadmovie.net/htdocs/loot_game/lotdplay.dcr

That way you dont have to visit the site everytime you want to play.

I've been playing it a lot lately, and it's pretty annoying to go through the main site every time.... I'll be sure to bookmark this one.

Btw... I've reached level 4 once (can't remember the score I had though)... The shotgun is cool to use, but it's a pain in the neck because you have to reload it often. :x

I also hate having to start from the beginning each time you get killed. :x

I think they do that so you might accidently run into them... On the harder screens, they sneak up from behind you, if you're battling a bunch of them from the front. That's why it's important to cover your rear, and check from time to time.

Dammit anyway, I keep getting Shockwave errors and it aborts the game every time.

My system doesn't recognize the .dcr format. And if I try to play the game at the actual system I have a problem once I get to the fun bit (after the instructions). Anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem. I'm able to use the stuff at shockwave and in fact play the chess game with my dad all the time.

Thanks

I have to admit I'm pretty impatient when it comes to playing video games. But...I've installed and played this LOTD shooter a bit and it does gets my blood pumpin'. One thing though, I've only made it to the second level so far (see, very impatient...starting over sucks) and am wondering, do the scenes change as you move up in levels or does the whole game take place in the abandoned grocery store? It would be nice to play a full version of this. :guns:

I am also having the same problems... Loads up, goes through instructions, see a train like vechicle crash into the store, then an error message pops up...

Any help would be great...

I wasn't able to get the download to work, but I went here (http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?) and downloaded Shockwave (even though I thought I had it). When I tired again I was able to get it to work off of the site.

I think it's a lot of fun, especially considering it's just a free game on a movie site. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get the download itself to work. :dunce:

Well, now it works. I didn't do anything different... oh well. I'm gonna have to upgrade my computer one of these days.

Thanks worked like a charm... Game is alright, pretty good free gam
though, plus I can never get sick of blasting zombies... Although its pretty repetive, I hate how you can't get up close and shoot, but I guess thats part of the hardness of the A.I. :loon:

I just want a defend the house type game, board up the windows, shoot them as they try and enter, use anything as weopons, simple enough for a flash game perhaps.. Res Evil 4 had parts that mimic this, but still I want Zombies not virus ridden villagers :poo: ... Maybe I should learn some programming code and make my own ideas happen... haha

I finally finished the game yesterday! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/nanners/0489.gif

**** Spoilers Ahead ****

After you get the sub Machine gun starting level 6, there is just level 7, and then 8. The levels keep getting progressively harder, but it's still the same layout for the whole game... At the end of level 8, there is a message that says:
Congratulations!
You got the goods and dropped the Zombies. Now get back to what's left of civilization until your next run.
Keep Breathing!

BZN's Helpful Hints

Get the supermarket layout down pat in your head, and stick to a pattern when retrieving the items.
On level 3 (Shotgun) & up, try to keep shooting and moving... Don't stay in one place for too long... They'll surprise you from behind.
Use your ammo religiously! Especially when you reach the shotgun level (Level 3)... You have only 2 rounds, and then you have to reload again... Never get caught having to reload in a pinch... Your better off wasting a round, and then reloading, as to being caught with only one round, or an empty gun.
On the machine gun levels (Level 6 and up) use short bursts to kill Zombies... Long firing bursts tend to blind you from the gun's power flash, and their will be lot of Zombies coming at you from multi directions... Shoot and move, shoot and move.
Also on the machine gun level, spraying using rapid fire is most effective when there is a bunch of Zombie grouped together, or one when one pops up directly in front of you... Make sure you always have a full magazine clip.
Good Luck!

Beat it as well..

I really hated the machine gun, wasn't accurate at all. My fav, was the shotgun, didn't notice much of a difference in load time, but seemed to me at least to down an enemy quicker, and some cases farther away then the pistol or machine gun...

Overall, very repetitive, but fun, great way to waste a 15 minutes...

I wonder why no one has made tie-ins for the console systems? Last
year's dawn coulda been an excellent game, same with
this years Land... I still would have a blast playing a black and white Notld on the xbox, I can just picture it... Would be awesome... Or maybe a game covering all 4 flicks... Get it all in one boom, have capcom handle it of  course.. haha

They are making one... sort of. Not a direct tie-in with one of the movies but a zombie game by Georgie boy himself.

Here's the link (http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3678) to the thread about it.

I think each weapon had its advantages and disadvantages... I liked the shotgun too, but you had to reload every third shot.
I think what really made this game were some of the sound effects... The Zombies moans, and groans were especially creepy.

Thought I would post this FYI. They seem to have made a slight update to the game. You can now "continue" where you left off and don't have to start from level one if you die.

It is I was getting scared playing it. I was like "Where are they I don't see them!"

For some reason I can't get it on this computer and its pisses me off. I have to go to the one in the den but that soon is gonig to go away so I need to figure out how to fix this one.

If someone be willing to help me I would appericate it.

I stopped playing it for a bit because I got sick, and tired of having to start over every freakin' time. :x

LOL! I know what you mean... I jumped a few times when I first played it, and I still do every once in a while... My 3 year old nephew, likes to look at Zombies, and he gets scared watching me play.

I have no solution to fix your problem MB7, except to say that it uses an advanced Shockwave plug-in add-on, that must be either downloaded or updated.
