I'm sure if there is any questionable material, the Sci-Fi Channel will edit it out regardless.

They show Day of the Dead a lot and it's editing to hell. Kind of takes away from the story,
That's why i don't watch that many movies on TV. Although saying that TV over here is not as bad as it used to be. If a film is shown after the 9pm watershed then they tend to show them uncut, especially on BBC2 and Channel 4. Sky is pretty good too.
If anyone does watch All Souls Day then please let us know how it was.

Aha!! I read that review on the JoBlo site and at the very bottom is said this...
The flick was written by Mark Altman who had a hand in writing House of the Dead.
Also, is the pic posted below a picture of a zombie "sneaking" into a room? If so then that's really lame. The best thing about zombies is that they don't care if you see them coming! Tom Savini or Clive Barker, (can't remember which), once said something about the scariest thing about zombies is that they are unthinking and unfeeling...They can't be reasoned with and that's what makes them terrifying.

I'm with you on that, but since Land is just around the corner and zombies are riding high for a little while, I'll take in all they can dish out because we all know it's not gonna last. Think I'm gonna make a night of it and watch Bloody Bill and All Souls Day. We should all watch it so that we'll have something to praise/bitch about later tonight and tomorrow!! Plus if the ratings are high then that just means more zombies on the way!!!!

Somehow I doubt it, but nonetheless movies are edited all time for their theatrical release to meet a MPAA rating guidelines, then they throw in added footage for it's DVD release... So there's really no big difference whether this meant as a theatrical, TV/cable, or DVD/Video release. The fact is that Sci-Fi is premiering it for the first time, which is a better deal than it going straight to video.

Just finished the movie. VERY slow first hour but once the zombies appear there's enough to hold interest. Good makeup with terrible acting. The cheerleader deserved to die after that Jurassic Park 2 flip fest and then not pulling up to the hotel with the passenger side door towards the building for her boyfriend to get in. How did Esmerelda get out of her cell once she became a zombie? I didn't care for her super strength and all that but maybe the freshly dead are like that in this one. ZombieAGoGo should've been excited about that Jeffrey Combs appearance, huh?!! I was thinking of taping Children of the Night at 1 am...Has anyone seen it?

just watched and taped it also.....a different take. It was cool cause just this year in spanish class we talked about the mexican day of the dead, this did a good twist on it. I remember the 1st thing i thought about when my teacher started talking about it was....zombies. Is this ever gonna be on dvd or n e thing?

yep unimpressed with it but we are talking about sci-fi. they always obey the fcc but never try to consider what their fans want. and they make those carptastic movies such as that one thats on next sat. what sucks is that the guy from reanimator is in it.

Well said js... That pretty much sums up the way I felt about it also. I agree though... That blonde cheerleader with her acrobatics, and that super Zombie crap in the prison, brought back bad memories from House of the Dead for me... Nooooooooooooo, PLEASE NOT THAT AGAIN! :x

I really loved the concept because from my culture I've always been exposed to this and been told a lot about Day Of The Dead. So it was very intresting to see this idea of the dead coming back, but coming back as blood thristy zombies. But the acting wasn't really great and there wasn't enough story. Plus seeing the old horror movie cliches gets tiresome and it really saddens me that people think it be enough to sustain viewers. Instead of actually making something that will hold people's intreast.
It was an enjoyable movie for what it was, but meh could of been more.
Can't wait for Land to come out. :)
Also didn't know if you guys noticed but those who have see "The Punisher" Laura Harring who plays Mrs. Saint was in there. :)

The new one and yeah that version has its problems too. But i was so impressed with Thomas Jane he made that movie really entertaining for me. I thought he did such a good job as The Punisher. Besides he is so hot and I love looking at him.
I really didn't know who he was until afterwards and than I was like "Oh yeah he was in Deep Blue Sea!" but anyways I remember sitting in the theater watching this thinking.. "Damn who would of known The Punisher could be kind of sexy" Because in the comic book he is a bit rugged looking. Well he isn't as rugged like Wolverine so he still isn't that bad looking. Hah anyways enough of me drooling over Mr. Jane. :)
Dissapointing. Like most of the saturday night Sci Fi movies, the pacing was terrible. It wasn't an overall bad film, but it wasn't nearly as fun as many terrible zombie films (like Zombie 3) are. But they made up for it by showing Day of the Dead afterward.
Iv'e only liked 2 of the sci fi saturday night movies, that the channel has shown. The 3rd reanimator, and Terminal Invasion.

06-14-2005, 03:01 PM
They do. I recently purchased the Sci-Fi Original, Mosquito Man. Awesome b-movie! The acting was a little stiff, the CGI got blurry at times and the FX was so so but I was able to kick back with some Code Red, popcorn and my son and I was able to watch it with him without having to fast forward or have him turn his head.
I plan to grab All Souls Day. Not to sound sarcastic but I haven't read a solid review on this yet. I just keep reading a lot of whining and bitching. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this as well as Sci-Fi's upcoming original film, Hammerhead: Shark Frenzy, featuring Jeff Combs.

BAH! I'm tired of reading reviewers claim they either walked out or almost walked out on a movie. Pretention coming from somebody who works on a site called, Bloody-Disgusting, how ridiculous.
I say, "Bring on the b-movie!". I'm not expecting All Souls Day to be a high budget a-list, well written, glamtastic flick. It's a b-movie for christsake people. We all know what to expect. Cheese acting, silly sets, a shakey story and some cheap laughs. Why is it so hard for horror fans nowadays to appreciate b-movies for what they are?
jackskellington
06-16-2005, 05:35 PM
Yeah...I wouldn't walk out of any horror movie no matter how bad. Now I have fallen asleep in movies before, but never walked out...Just can't really bitch about it if you don't see it through to the end!
The Blind Dead
06-17-2005, 12:37 AM
Damn skippy! Whether I pay money or not, when I set myself down in front of a movie, I watch the damn thing. I see people all the time claiming "the movie was so bad I walked out blah blah blah". What they really mean to say is "I'm too intelligent for this film", "I just don't have the attention span" or the never admitted "I didn't understand a thing that was going on in that film and I'm too embarrassed to ask." but it always sounds better when they say they walked out or almost walked out.
I don't doubt All Souls is a cheesefest, fact is, I'm hoping it is.

i think we all have a higher threshold for pain than most. I mean i grew up at the drive-in and have sat thru some of the most god awful movies you will ever see.
I will say i haven't gone to the movie to see the usual line of horror crap being given to us. I'm being alot more particular.
If LOTD is as good as we hope i will see it atleast 4 times. I can't go to see DOTD 04 four times and not Land.
This has been a wonderful summer for me with Sith and LOTD coming out. My two favorite series coming out so close together. I've been in heaven.

the movie is about a young couple who ride into a small mexican town and into a funeral. the guy crashes his care and the ppl running the funeral drop the casket holding a girl with her tounge cut out.
and the couple decide to stay a night in the small run down hotel and wait for theyre 2 friends to show up.
enter more idiots/bad actors.
an old lady builds a model of the town as she has been forn the last few years.
then half assed zombies show up and dont even seem like they thirst for the taste of human flesh.
You have got to be kidding me.
I seen the previews to this movie on the Sci-Fi channel a while back and never got a chance to see it.
in the previews it shows zombies and leads you to believe that the movie is about zombies.
In my opinion, this movie isnt worth seeing.
The acting is bad, there is a cheerleader in the movie who is all of a sudden acrobatic and uses that ability to fight the"zombies" and evade them.
danny trejo is in this move and when i heard about that i thought "hey this might be pretty decent" poor poor danny trejo...at least he redeemed himself in "The Devils Rejects".
anyway i guess this is a half-assed review of the wasted film.
take it or leave it.
just remember if u are buying/watching/renting this in hopes of a zombie flick..you will be sorely dissappointed during the end credits, knowing u just wasted about 120 minutes of your life.
just my opinion

I saw All Soul's Day at the Slamdance Film Festival. I didn't think it was too bad but it moved rather slowly story-wise. On the other hand, I also saw Zombie Honeymoon (www.zombiehoneymoon.com) and I thought it kicked ass. It was similar but different to Dead Alive in the sense that it combined the undead with a love story.

This movie was pretty bad in my opinion. I recall looking forward to it. Imagine my disappointment in pre-ordering this POS and paying full price for it as soon as it released. You would think I'd learn my lesson at some point.... What was the worse part of the movie to me? The ridiculous cheerleader ninja crap. If anyone is wondering how they can make a bad movie worse, the answer is simple: Give a character the ability to fight and move like a master ninja without any reasonable explanation as to how they've gained those abilities.

I was about to make a thread on All Souls Day but luckily I spared you all my rant on the film since I found this such thread lol.
I bought this dvd last year cause I saw a trailer for it on some other dvd a while back. Well this movie stinks!!!!
The characters are quite stupid in it to begin with.
Yes this film has some surprisingly well known actors like David Keith, Jeffrey Combs, Ellie Cornell, etc......but that still didn't help this turd of a film at all.
I thought that the plot sounded good to begin and the beginning was kinda promising but then it just went to shitsville!!!!
Why did I waste money on this lame dvd???? I could have boughht me a 12 pack of beer instead and would have enjoyed doing something else for 88 minutes instead of trying to keep myself awake watching this flick.:x:poo::puke:

I had to check Amazon to see if this thread was about the same movie I saw on cable a few years ago. It is! You know how dumb this movie is; I forgot it even had zombies. I usually check Amazon for info and reviews about movies. I’m not interested in buying it, but Amazon has exactly ONE used copy available, and no reviews. I agree, it wasn't very good.
Not just because of the acting and setting, but because it really wasn't much of a zombie movie.
In the real mexican tradition of Day of the Dead, the souls come back, not the body as well, so the facts were wrong too.
