I don't know how many of you guys were here when DOTD '04 came out, but there was an overload on threads about it. I would delete or merge 1 and 5 more would pop up. All I am asking is if you guys will search through the threads already made before you start up a new one. It will help myself and Go-Go out tremendously.

There will also be a big jump in the number of members as we get closer to the opening date. To you veteran members I ask for you guys to take the noobs under your wings and show them the right path. Go-Go and myself try to stay on top of things as best we can, but we can't be here 24 hours a day. Any help you guys can give will be very appreciated over the next couple of months. Thanks.http://www.allthingszombie.com/images/jvsmily.gif

As an extra aid - here are the Land threads - they seem to cover most things so read them first and then ask yourself "does what I want to say really really really require a new thread?*"

Land's main thread:
http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4010

The poster:
http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3898

Land FAQ:
http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3782

Beyond Land of the Dead (aka "what Romero will do next?"):
http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3185

Total Film magazine article on Land:
http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3056

* A Quick clue: The answer is probably not.

I wondered why the threads here are really long.
I see threads that have 14 pages and it gives me a headache to think I have to read all of that so I just go with the flow.

Some threads just seem to take on a life of there own, but there aren't that many long ones really. Lotd, a couple in Undead survival and a few in the chat lounge spring to mind. I think DK & Co. do occasionally do a bit of pruning to get rid of threads that are no longer relavent or posted on. I do see what you're saying though, it can be a royal pain in the butt trying to catch up on the longer threads :x

Why don't you and Kev just promote more members to the rank of moderator?

I know of much smaller sites with 10x the number of staff members monitoring it.

why not sticky a seperate thread for all the forthcoming zombie films like official Land thread, official Undead thread etc.

that way people wont have to search through the forums

once the movies open then unsticky them and let them drift off down the page

and seeing as theres only like 4 or 5 new zombie movies coming out then there would only be like 4 or 5 stickies

In theory that sounds like a good idea, but the 'Land' thread, along with all these other upcoming films, never stray very far. The problem isn't that these threads are difficult to locate. The problem is that members start new threads, without bothering to look in the first place, either because they don't know any better, or because they don't really care.

I choose the latter.... How many members have only 2-5 post count and then are never seen... It's these people that start multiple threads and then loose interest... damn instant gratification... :)

multiple threads on the same movie doesnt seem to be much of a problem compared to the gratuitously offensive posts some new members are making.

im british but the anti american sentiment expressed by some is unnecessary considering this is a zombie forum.

and whats with allowing the anti-women, anti gay comments?

Which is suprising as any threads mentioning politics is nearly automatically locked.

i appreciate zombie films deal in violence which attracts a certain kind of film fan, but all this hate towards everyone is just unwarranted

and it makes the board and those who use it look like right proper ignorant psychos

If you notice I have either replied to or either removed the post you mention. Most of the ones I replied to I locked. The proper people have been PM'ed about the situation. There is not a Mod here at all times, so it make take a little while sometimes before we take action on problem posts. Thanks for your concern.http://www.allthingszombie.com/images/jvsmily.gif

i used to be the moderator on the thongwatching forum (if anyone remembers it) and yeah i agree you cant be aware of every post made every day as people have jobs to go to and other stuff apart from this.

But yes it does freak me out when people talk about their guns or how they believe a zombie situation could really happen (and how theyre prepared for it) etc etc.

and im not gay, a woman nor american but the hate thats occasionally shown towards them really does sink a board faster than anything else.

I guess this is a good as place as any to ask, so here goes...

Is anyone from here going to the premiere of Land in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, the 22nd?

Go here (http://www.pittsburghpremiere.com) for more info...

I am flying in Wednesday morning and will be leaving Thursday night. I will be at the premiere as well as the after party. Romero, Romero Alumni, Simon and Edgar from Shaun of the Dead, and Quentin Tarantino will be there as well...

If anyone is going, let me know so we can hook up...

Dude, I can already tell your going to be annoying. You made a thread on this, just ask the question once in the offical LOTD thread and wait for an answer, people will answer you if they want to.

And also, stop double posting.

RESPECT THE EDIT BUTTON, AND IT WILL RESPECT YOU!

Maybe i'm seeing blurry but what happened to the new LOD review thread? The one with all the numbers.. I dont see it anymore and I have to vent my sorrow. Joking quips in a Romero movie? Anyway was the thread removed or am not seeing the forest for the trees?

Man, there is alot of angst going on at the moment. I am with Preacher (from what he posted on the 17th of June.

The thing that amazes me is the demographics. So many kids here. Well, hey, all you bastards are kids to me! hahaha. But, really, 14-15-16 year olds. All into death metal and dressing up and guns and anti-this, anti-that.

Preacher, i put it down to immaturity. Some of the newbies are out right wankers, but we got to give them a go. I would assume the mods here want this place to grow, not just be a posting place for the same old heads.

I think the mods do a great job here. And yeah, i am a crawler, but so what?

It aint like i am gonna get a present or anything. Being Aussie does have side effects some times. Like when i get spam saying i have won a plasma tv. Stuff me in a box, its only available to U.S. residents. I mean, what part of AU on my addresses dont they get?

And dont get me started on cheap penis growing pills.

Well All I have to say is that no matter what age you are or maturity level (We do have published authors / mainstream directors as well as kids) we are on a forum that deals with zombies, horror/fantasy, and the like. The best we can do (like any other community) is be open minded and when we see ingnorance and imaturity try to correct. We must lead by example... Ok now let me get off my soapbox and say I loved LOTD! :)
