I give it a 10/10, one of my all time favorite movies and one of the most unique horror films of all time!

Not to mention that it's one of my top 30 favorite horror movies, i think it's an excellent feast of gore, naked blonde flesh, a talking zombie head that loves chick's certain other private areas, Jeffery Combs ( Almost every Star Trek geek recongizes this guy), bloodshed, and laughs makes this a must have for fans of "Evil Dead", zombie flicks and horror.

9/10. We got a thread going on about it starting with it's not so good and then everyone arguing about how good it is.

Dodger, you should've created a poll so that a running tally could be kept.

Oh well... What's done is done. :x

When I go to rate horror films, 9s and 10s are very hard to come. I like the Re-Animator very much, so I'll give it an 8 out of 10.

Believe me, that's a high rating. :-|

I added a poll guys. I gave it a ten. I love it, and it also has special nostalgic value for me. :)

It's a great movie. I gave it 8 on the poll, but that may be a bit low. I for sure wouldn't go as high as 10, but I also saw the edited version. So depending on how good the full one is, I may be willing to go as high as 9 or 9 1/4.

it's NOT A ZOMBIE MOVIE (:)), but it's an excellent mad scientist movie, with just the right mix of horror and ironic humor.

Are you sure about that? He injected a chemical into dead bodies, and brought them back to life. I would concede that this film more closely resembles the movie Frankenstein than Night of the Living Dead.

In all theory it is a zombie movie, they were dead, they're animated and not quite right.... I gave it an 8 just as a general horror movie, I enjoy it very much yet it's still not one of my biggest favorites. Gotta love them mad scientists.

Whoa Ellis we agree on something!

If you do buy it, get the Millenium edition, it may cost slightly more but is well worth it.

It's a shame Jeffrey Combs has been relegated to playing aliens on Star Trek...

Barbara Crampton! Thats what my 1st post referred to, but its gone. Again, i just wanna know, was it censored?

Anyway, i am 100% going to get the millenium edition.

I also thought number 2 was pretty good. Some really cool FX.

But, number 3 was just the worst Spanish crap i have ever seen. It must have been the worst movie i have seen in years.

Except for spicy, Spanish Elas Patakey. What an absolute stunner!

I gave it a seven, as although I liked it, it’s just not one of those flicks I’d watch as frequently as others!

I haven't seen Bride for years. Maybe it's time to dig out a copy from somewhere and watch it again.

I didn't make it through the whole of Beyond, so i may have to give that another chance.

i give it a 10. I so love this movie! I been wanting to purchase it. The lead actor jeffery Combs today is still extremely active in horror movie making such as in a zillion episodes of star trek(DS9 and the new one) and he was in the House on Haunted hill remake as the evil doctor. I am a big fan. What can I say. Also sorry for the typos I am trying to do this post fast while at work:x

I didn't like this one. Always seemed kinda overrated in my opinion. There were some parts of the plot that seemed kinda dumb. And the zombies didn't really eat anyone, they mostly ran around screaming, beating people and tearing things down. Some of the gore were a bit overdone.
It had some funny stuff though like the dekapitated doctor who walked around with a fake head. That was hillarious. The background music was also very good, it had a kinda old-school feeling to it. I haven't seen any of the sequels, nor will I ever bother.

I wish I had a Re-Animated head in a pan ( EX-BOSS ) Have my own web site, $12.99 per hour live on web cam. Extra to make it do tricks, have it say your name, so you can download it, put it up as your attachment on ATZ.

I remember a few years ago when paid top dollar on eBay for a copy, when it was OOP... Now I'm sorry I did that. :-(

Top notch gore film of the 80's... Love the scene with Herbert West fighting off that crazed kitty cat! :)

I watched it in that kind of dip-in-get-distracted way with the laptop set up in front of the TV that no good horror really deserves, so I don't feel like I should comment harshly. And I won't, because it's GREAT!

Huh? "New type of zombie"? What do you mean? I know that mad doctors in films have been raising the dead by various means with various degrees of success since at least the 1950s. How do the deranged Dr. Hill or the animalistic morgue zombies qualify as a new type?

Heh, I just watched this for the first time a couple days ago. I don't know what took me so long to watch this movie, but I really enjoyed it. I would give it an 8/10. Now, I want to check out H.P. Lovecraft's original short stories Herbert West-Reanimator.

www.fye.com

it's a big box retail home entertainment store. they sell computer games, music and movies. they sell new and used. and for some reason they have a decent selection of flicks. i don't know who is doing the ordering in the ones in buffalo, but they have a good horror section.

i checked the site...it's listed at 14.99 on there, but it seems they were running a sale on the elite editions in the last week or so. i got NOTLD and re-animator, each for $3.99. not too shabby.

Are FYE here went out of business because nobody liked the overpriced movies and music they had. But $3.99! Damn thats a great deal anywhere.

I generally liked it; I gave it a 7 mostly because while I enjoyed watching it the once I'm not sure I'll seek it out again. But some of it was quite fun--the 'head' trying to direct the 'body' was pretty classic.
