Cast for DOTD 2 [Archive] - All Things Zombie Forums

Any ideas on the cast for DOTD2?

Will it be the survivors from the DOTD? Mind you, things didn't look good for those guys... boat with no fuel, horde of incoming zombies and the gaddam dog off to god-knows-where..

Any thoughts?

i thought the guy who bought it on the pier at the end was a right sanctimonious prat. watching the sunset blah blah just before the zombies eat him. so im glad hes not coming back.

the girl can buy the farm too. Keep the dog, but ving deserves a good death scene so i hope he returns if only for a guest death scene

the other kids bland as beige paint so he shouldnt return

As for sarah polley, i dont know where her character can go that would be interesting. weve seen her go from innocent to warrior, and i wouldnt want it to become something like " i know what you did last summer" territory where she gets into scrapes but you know shell survive because shes the star

the one thing they need, is to have it like "deep blue sea" where anyone can die at any time regardless of who they are and how big a star they are

id like to see her back though

Yes - Nicole should die. She was the only character I outright loathed.

Terry? Eh, don't care much. He could stick around for one of two reasons - eventual zombie chow, or someone who starts to grow into the 'warrior' role. (Though I honestly can't see the latter happening; he was such a wuss.)

Ken and Ana - I loved them both, so I wouldn't mind seeing a remake starring the two of them. With that post about Ving being otherwise committed, though, I figure he's a moot point. Indie Princess Sarah might be game - I've read a few interviews in local papers where she's talked about how much she enjoyed doing the whole 'action hero, blockbuster movie' thing.

What about actors you'd *like* to see in a sequel? Any thoughts?

yeah its been discussed in other threads but as long as there isnt another thread specifically asking the same question then i cant see the problem.

i mean surely you cant be expected to go through every page on every dawn of the dead topic?

Hmmm, lemme think this over...

I enjoyed Ken alot, glad to see Zack kept the strong black character in, a true nod to Romero.

Ana, I didn't really like her, kinda bland, didn't really do much. The only part she made me smile was when she took down whatshisface you know, the jackass...

Terry, I really thought that kid had potential, and to all you haters of Terry out there, cut the kid some slack, hes a small time mall cop who was thrown into all this shit, same with Nicole, they deserve eachother, and Terry is young enough that he could grow into someone bigger and better.

They never said he died... Sure things looked grim, but I mean they made it outa' the gunstore. Maybe they'll continue it, and maybe Terry the "fag" as you call him, can finally rise up.

Yeah I think faq is a bit strong, unless you are talking about a specific cigarette you hoped had made it though. As far as warm welcomes Preacher, I do not believe zombiekilling was trying to be harsh or insulting he was just trying to be helpful. In that if you find the old thread (in this case I believe there is a DOD 2 official thread, I apologize if I am wrong) you can add to the conversation and get it humming along. I would not worry about it too much, no one here will ever tell you anything harsh or be mean, at least that’s been my experience (joined in October 04 I think, but was lurking/ posting as Wesker1981 before the boards crashed, so I have been here for about 2 years.)

What George Lucas should have done with Jar Jar Binks was to take this wide eyed innocent and throughout the progression of the next 2 films, as jar jar sees the destruction and the deaths of so many people, turned him into an angry fkd up battle hardened, shoot-first kind of warrior/loner.

But he didnt, when he could have saved the character from a lifetime of hatred (by simply developing the character) he kept him as he was.

But thats what i would be interested in. And it would be cool to see the same transition in a chracter in a zombie movie, in that they go from the same fluffy, perky person to someone whos not dead physically but dead inside.

Sarah Polleys character always seemed to be an independent capable woman so there wasnt really a change in who she was. But i dont think the actor who played Terry's got the ability to play that transition

I dont beleive he was talkin about Terry but he was talkin about the gay guy who sawed the whore in half. In my opinion Kenneth should live and Ana ehh shes ok... as for terry at first I felt like he was pretty cool until he got on the boat in everyones face... ecspeacialy Ken. but Nichole... she might have made a big mess but give the girl a break. Everyone in her family was killed and one was actually shot near her. But yeah sure mabey evryone else lost there family but she was the yougest. and her survival odds arent that good.

I wished Steve would of live just so the other survivors could torture him later on, To bad CJ didnt live, he turned out to be someone you would want on your side in a fight. as far as Nichole screwimg everything up, they had to get to the weapons, and ammo sooner or later, they would of have no chance with out them. With Andy now a zombie he might of somehow open the door to the gunstore, making it impossible to make a safe entry into the gun store. It would have turned out all right if steve was gaurding the door like he was suppose to. all the weapons and ammo would have been worth the loss of 1 guy.Andy was my favorite from the movie, I like to see him in that type of charactor in another zombie movie.Andy,Ken, and CJ that a zombie killing trio.

So DOTD 2 is straight to DVD? :lol: Seriously, though, I feel that one, or two at the most, characters should return. It should either be Kenneth or Anna. I feel that one, if not both of them, could really contribute to the next film. Maybe Anna made it off the island on a dead boat that drifted for days only to land somewhere else. Near death she is nursed back to health and becomes the leader of an inexpienced group of survivors who need her help to survive. Or maybe Kenneth would be in the same situation and find himself discovered by a rag-tag militia who is going after zombies or an unseen "treasure" in an abandoned city full of zombies. I don't know. Just food for thought.

Is there still going to be a Dawn of the Dead 2? And is the Day of the Dead remake a whole different movie that Ving Rhames just happens to be in after surviving Dawn of the Dead?
I'm confused. Probably because I really haven't researched the 2 movies.

What I like to see is the director of DOTD 04 Zack Snyder, be given the budget to make another zombie movie. At 1st I didnt like the ideal of fast running zombies, till I saw the movie, then I liked the way he did it, especially in the beginning of the movie. It added to all the of society collasping.

this whole discussion forum should have it's name changed to The All Things Improbable Discussion Forum For Fans Of DOTD 2004.

there must be half a dozen threads around here all about what you wish Kenneth would do after "surviving" DOTD 2004! what the hell!?!?! enough already! keep it to one thread if you absolutely insist on believing anyone survived that movie! watch it again. forget about what you "don't see" happen in front of the camera on the dock. just listen to the friggin Jim Carroll song..."THOSE ARE PEOPLE WHO DIED! DIED!!!" get it? "THEY WERE ALL MY FRIENDS, AND THEY DIED!" get it now? let it go, people. it's time to move on.

and if by chance, Snyder does make a sequel with Kenneth and Anna floating off somewhere, making babies on an island paradise, while the world goes to hell, then good for him. he'll have pleased all you fans.

i liked the movie too, but yer beating an undead horse here.

and as for the DayOTD remake. Rhames is playing a different character, not a Dawn survivor.

Now I heard that the Day of the Dead remake is going to be more of a sequel to Dawn of the Dead '04, and of course, Ving Rhames is going to play a soldier in the military. This brings up a question. In Dawn '04, doesn't Kenneth (Rhames) mention he has a brother in the Army. Was it mentioned whether his brother was younger, older, or a perhaps a twin? Just guessing. Might make sense connecting the two instead of them doing a Return of the Living Dead 2 with the same actors playing completely different roles.
I think that is just wishful thinking. Ving Rhames is supposed to be Cpt Rhodes in the Day remake ,there is no relationship to DOTD 04. it sounds its going to be a not so good remake. go to the Day remake thread, it has a lot of info. I think everyone died at the end of DOTD04, except chips,the director of DOTD 04 Zack Snyder did a great job on the movie. I would like to see him get the budget to make another zombie movie.

that works for me :) last names weren't used in Dawn, so there really is no reason why Rhodes can't have a line in Day where he says something about having a brother on the force.

as for the cast of a possible Dawn2...?

Umm there are two flaws in that theroy. one kenneths last name was hall. And two he was alreay in the marines so it cant be him. But the whole twin thing i seriously doubt. no relation.

Ving Rhames played the tough street wise cop in DOTD 04, Hes to big, and mean looking for the Cpt Rhodes part, Cpt Rhodes was basicly a coward without his pistols, The helocopter pilot in day knock Rhodes ass out pretty quickly, I dont see him doing that to Ving Rhames.
