hey, well my favorite tv show is battlestar galactica (new one) I love the damn thing, the actors are sooo good, writing is slick, action is great.

I also love the old one too, i have the dvd box set of it and love it, its extremely corny but .. damn I love this show!

i named my puppy Lt. Starbuck after one of teh fighter pilots.

ok chat time. oh and if your gona bash it, save your tiem and go somewhere else.

The new Battlestar Galactica is arguably one of the best TV shows in the past decade, if not longer.

And the season finale was outstanding. No season cliffhanger has had me so shocked since 'The Best of Both Worlds Pt1' on Star Trek TNG.

oh yeah its one of the best series, I think its on par with what x-files did when it came out (if thats a good comparision)

anyway, man that last episode was crazy. When boomer shot adama i shit my pants.

Whats going to happen. Colonel tigh has command of the ship now, and Since Apolo had that shot mutiny thing, theres no way hes goign to let it slide now. They ahve to kill boomer.

and they have to kill boomer on caprica (even though they wont) casue if she has helo's kid tan they'll mix the species.

When boomer shot adama i shit my pants.

Oh shit yeah. That is officially the one and only time that a TV show has made me jump out of my seat.

I know that Edward James Olmos has signed up for season 2, so maybe he aint quite dead after all. Time will tell on that one though.
I don't think they'll kill Galactica Boomer, rather subject her to loads of tests to see what they can learn. It's bad news for Baltar though. Boomer was one of the first to be tested, and now it's common knowledge that she's a Cylon, people are gonna be asking questions about his cylon detector.

I think Apollo may stage a mutiny against Tigh though. We can't have a guy who's wife is pulling the strings in charge of mankinds last hope. Plus, I'm pretty sure she was the one responsible for killing, or having killed, that assassin guy in the election episode. I think Zarek is using her influence over Tigh to his own advantage.

zombiekilling101
04-28-2005, 02:37 PM
well of course hes going to be alive (hes the biggest name in teh series) but probably in a coma for awhile or ****ed up.

Your right about boomer and baltar, but he is the vice president and that might give him some room to argue his defense. I started to like hiim when i thought he might turn good, but now its back to being an ass. And wtf was starbuck thinking doing him?

well its goign to be tough for him pulling off the mutiny, starbuck is at caprica and when she gets back tigh will ring her up becasue he already doesnt like her, plus she broke a direct order and flew back to caprica in the first place.

and theres no way zareks going to get a bigger voice yet, becsaue tigh hates that bastard.

i just hope they save the downed raptors.

ZombieOz
04-28-2005, 02:50 PM
Yeah, but Tigh doesn't know that Zarek is doin his wife. She's no doubt passing all of her hubby's pillow talk onto Zarek. Who knows what Tigh blabs about after he's had a few and thinks that no-one's listening.

damn i want to slap her!

whats going to go down with the president do you think? shes locked up and she has the backing of Lee and Starbuck, and they have abig ass voice in teh fleet. Plus, teh bridge crew were all sad that htey had to take over her ship and crap.

she'll probably be let out when Tigh is overthrown, but thats going to suck casue shes kind of stupid when it comes to the military decisons.

ZombieOz
04-28-2005, 03:03 PM
It's a tough one to call. Obviously Starbuck is going to be on her side, and Lee's too, but I'm not sure what the three of them can do. I just can't see Tigh lasting too long in command.
I do agree that she is pretty dumb when it comes to military action. I don't think she's prepared to do what it takes, especially if that means doing something like sacrificing lives for the good of the fleet.

Of course, her imprisonment effectively means that Baltar is President. Things just get better and better for the human race ;-)

yep fridays at 10

They still have to go rescue Baltar and i think hes now come to terms with he being a fate in teh cylons and human races. So maybe hes going to try to shake things up.

one thing that bugged me about the original is: remember that episode when appolo was looking for radio signals from space, than they left and one came up and it showed us making the first moon landing.. now i know there seeking refuge but when they find them being far surperios to us in the technologies, were not really gonig to be able to fight agains the cylons, so basiclly there going to have to sit there and defend earth while there teech us.

alright kids. the second season is coming up in july, its going to be great, teh freakin last episode had a shocking moment in it:scare: and i cant wait to see what happened after commander adama was shot, whats goign to happend to boomer, starbuck, and if what colonel tigh is going to do since hes issues marshall law, is he goign to keep commander adams son, lee "apollo" adama in prison for disobeying a direct order to arrest the president? we'll see suckas!!!!!

The problem is that I don't get cable So I'll have to wait another year and hope the whole first season comes out on DVD and then rent it on a regular basis until I decide to buy or not to buy. That is the question.

I'm having the same problem with the series "Lost".

Lost is magnificent! The DVD comes out in September; enjoy!

Battlestar Galactica was my favorite show as a kid, I used to watch it every week while eating a WigWag bar. I have the DVD set and a really spiffy Cylon Tshirt too! I haven't followed the new series. I'm definately going to pick up the Season 1 DVD when it's available. Thanks for the tip!

mine are apollo, adama, starbuck, helo (but now hes being dumb) hot dog, Crash,

zombiekilling101
08-06-2005, 02:11 AM
Just watched another new episode from it. Great stuff, alot of great cliffhangers. Boomer was just assinated by a crewmember (Boomers a cylon). Starbuck and Helo have found a militia thats fighting the occupiers on Cylon Occupied Caprica. Captain Adama is out of his coma. Captain Apollo freed the president and defected from Galactica to help bring the democracy back, after Colonel Tigh declared martial law.

Down point, crash down is dead after Baltar killed him:-( And colonel Tighs wife is a bitch.

FatherJack
08-08-2005, 03:57 PM
I hate Tighs wife. He should shoot her out an airlock. :x

I am glad to see they are making some headway with Baltar's story arch. I was getting a little tired of 6 of 1 popping up in conversations to make him look crazy and never really going anywhere with what she was telling him. Just generalities and vague double speak.

I have a feeling the resistance fighters Starbuck and Helo ran into are not what they seem. Maybe they are allowed to live as breeding stock for Cylon hybrids and as test subjects. The Cylons seem to be fixated on putting humans into stressful situations for them to observe.

zombiekilling101
08-08-2005, 05:45 PM
Yeah Colonely Tighs wife might be a cylon afterall. Remember there are 8 cylons in the fleet.

Im kinda pissed at Apollo for siding with the President. They need him to fight seeing that the captain (apollo) and the Lt (starbuck) arent on Galactica anymore. I hope they do more with Hotshots character, seeing that hes the top piolet after Lee and Laura.

I dont think those humans have anything to do with the cylons, it would be a big twist though, it seeems like Starbuck is taking a liking to their leader.

FatherJack
08-10-2005, 08:50 AM
I'm thinking maybe the humans don't know they are allowed to live, or maybe only a select few (people sort of like Baltar). The ylons tolerate their raids and attacks because to a cylon death is just a reboot. The cylons seem to liek to study human emotions. What better way to get field research than to isolate a group of humans and put them under severe stress that you control?

zombiekilling101
08-10-2005, 02:01 PM
hmmm thats a very cool thought fatherjack. Its does seem kind of iffy, that after taking out Caprica, there is a small section that is not patrolled.

zombiekilling101
08-15-2005, 05:37 PM
lost.. bah to lost.

I want to see some dog fights soon. Its going to be interesting to see how the viper squadron holds up wiht out the captain and the Lt. It looks like Hotdog is the commanding officer of that now.

i thought that was a very good scene when Starbuck was saying goodbye to the resistance fighter.

And what the hell is the defectors in the fleet thinking! there was a freakin base star at kobol that took out 2 of there raptors.

FatherJack
08-16-2005, 12:45 PM
I'm pretty sure Boomer took out that base star before she went nuts on the old man. I have a feeling the defectors are going to run up against something new. Maybe a Lucifer type cylon leading a garrison planet side. That is the one thing I miss from the Original is the Lucifer droids. Sure the Flesh and blood cylons are a sort of replacement with blondie's connection to Boltar but not really. There has to be an in between; a missing link between total machine and organic.

Maybe once Helo and Starbuck get back and let both groups know what exactly is going down on Caprica the situation of revolt will take a back seat. They will divide the fleet into colonists and warrior fleet. One staying on Kobol with the President and the other lead by Adama setting course for Caprica to liberate the survivors.

maybe the colonists can have rocket bikes ala Galactica 1980. :rimshot:

zombiekilling101
08-16-2005, 02:43 PM
ah yes.. lucifer. I dont think they'll have that robot with that name if they have it. Thats too straight forward religous I think.

That would be a death wish to go back to caprica with the Galactica though, theyd swarm them in no time.

FatherJack
08-16-2005, 03:21 PM
True but the thought of the Cylons experimenting on other humans may make Adama do something rash he has been seen to make some rash choices.

Im a huge Battlestar Galactica fan.

Season 2 finale just aired here in Canada, and I freaked out. Taking the audience one year into the future after Baltars decision to settle on New Caprica was outstanding. It wasnt a dream sequence or a temporal anomoly, but a real event. I cant believe the jerk Baltar turned into. And the Cylons leaving the humans alone to re-evaluate their motives was unexpected. But the ending left me speechless. The Galactica rusting in orbit. Appollo's weird hair, Starbuck married, and the Cylon armada cruising over the heads of the humans. WOW.

The suicide bombers was a nice touch especially in what were dealing with around the world.

Apollo needs to get back into viper shape though.

I agree. I think that top to bottom, every episode on every season is great. I've never seen a TV series like that before. I love LOST, but even they have some dogs as episodes every now and then.

The suicide bombers was a nice touch especially in what were dealing with around the world.

I was a little worried there that they would get a little too political and try to make some kind of "statement," but they handled it well and it worked.

Apollo needs to get back into viper shape though.

He's quite the chunky monkey these days  .

and starbuck.. I currently view her as a traitor now.. she shouldnt care for that thing.

Not so fast my friend. Think of how she's felt. The human race has almost been eliminated. I can imagine how easy it would be to latch on to some hope and distract oneself from the constant warring w/the Cylons. But I guess, as we know now, she won't have to worry about that now.

Great season and it's becoming what I think may be the best television series of all time!

Well seeing what happened last episode. how they treated Jammer. I mean..I can understand why they would see him as a traitor but it was for the best.. having humans handle police instead of the cylons. But I suppose if my country was taken over I wouldnt like my people working for the invaders.

But anyway they killed Jammer for working for the cylons. But if he is a traitor.. than so is she. She kissed the cylon and cared for a hybrid. I know she was just working with them to get back at them.. but so was Jammer. Plus I still havent forgiven her for acting like a whore in front of Lee when they first rescued Anders in season 2.

Yeah, I saw the season finale last night.

I love Battelstar and have throughly enjoyed Season 1 and 2. Season 3 started well, peaked in the middle, and has kind of fell a little flat for me in the finale. Baltar's trial was great, of course, but the BIG REVEAL of the final 4 cylons was... dissappointing. Don't know why, but I felt let down in some way.

thanks man good to see ya

I agree. the first part of the season was great. pushed alot of boundries.

Im not hapy with who the 4 are. It just doesnt work becasue of this:

Colonel Tigh was a 20something when he was fighting the first cylon war. He was a viper pilot back then. The cylons were defeated and were gone for 40 years. Then they come back and we're supposed to buy that Tigh has been a cylon since the first war maybe 50 or so years ago? just doesnt work.

Well all know that if you start hearing jimmy hendrix in your head.. your a cylon:)

what about Starbuck. I was down with her dying cause her character just slipped for me.. turning into a whore and flat out bitch. but her coming back is predictable. I hope shes not a cylon casue that would make it predictable. And come on.. we had a clear vision of her viper blowing up.. and Lee was behind her saying no ejection was seen.

Maybe she hit a warp or some shit and the humans from earth picker her up, maybe shes a cylon, maybe she was captured by the cylons, maybe Lee was seeing things?

I guess we had better stick the ol' SPOILER sign up....

SPOILERS AHEAD!

That's exactly what I thought too, ZK. Tigh doesn't fit for the reasons you've outlined.

Chief is a weird choice too. They flesh out his humanity, with the whole union thing, just to pull this shit?! It makes no sense. Also, surely if he is a Cylon then his baby is half-Cylon, just like the Athena/ Helo child? Wouldn't that have been picked up during birth/ pregnancy?

The fifth cylon reveal will be interesting. Starbuck seems to be who you're meant to think - but I'm guessing there'll be someone else. Her return was very predictable. Her 'death' seemed very sudden to me, as if the script had been changed last minute, or something.

I don't know about Battlestar's future. There's been talk of a limited half-season next year, followed by a movie or two. Mind you, they talked about Buffy and Angel movies and they're not going to happen now, it seems. There was also talk of a Battlestar spin-off called Caprica... but they'd need a return to form for next season to make all of that worthwhile.

correct me if im wrong but didnt baltar give the cylon tests to the whole crew? and he just lied when he found that boomer was one? or did he not give it to all of them.

as for the upcoming seasons or movies or spin offs. Ive never been too found of the Caprica thing.. just didnt seem to fit you know. and the movies. I really really dug the mini series and that was like a 4 hour movie.. so I'm down for that. And if there going to finish the show with a half season at least they have the the heads up and can finish it right.. unlike some shows like firefly and what not.

I have a question. if the reason the cylons couldnt force babies to be made because of the lack of "love". couldnt they just program models to fall in love and screw? wait a minute then that would just be a full cylon nevermind:x :x

oh yes. hmmm. I guess it makes sense. Sharon didnt know she was a cylon in the beginning of that relationship. and Chief's boot menu didnt turn on until last ep. It would have been funny if they had a baby.. and then the cylons figured it out and were like "shit!" what a waste of time.

At this writing, I am still in the first season. That said, I try not to miss a single episode.

We've heard all the other reasons fans like it, but my personal slant is I find it admirable that they have the premise to keep the fleet 'low-tech' (to prevent Cylon infiltration on online systems). I feel only the deepest admiration for anyone who resists the temptation to follow the everybody-else-is-doing-it practice of stuffing a sci-fi picture with so many special effects that they all end up tangled together like a mishandled slinky.

Sure BSG has SFX, but just enough to complement, and not dominate the story. And IMHO, that is what keeps the writers on their toes. (And it doesn't hurt budget, either)

Yay, BSG!

Well. Sadly the next season will be the last according to Moore and Olmos and the rest of the producing team. Its good in a way casue they say its " a creative end" going out on there own terms instead of being simply cancelled. they said there going out with a bang well heres the story:

Battlestar Ending Next Season

The producers of SCI FI Channel's Battlestar Galactica (http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/) confirmed that the upcoming fourth season will be the show's last. Executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick said that it was a creative decision to end the acclaimed series with the upcoming 22-episode season.

"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," Eick and Moore said in a statement on May 31. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there: We're going out with a bang."

In November, a special two-hour Battlestar episode, "Razor," will air. The fourth season kicks off in early 2008.

At last month's Saturn Awards, Edward James Olmos said that the upcoming season would be the show's last, prompting Eick to say at the time that no decision had been made. "I promise you that when Ron and I make a decision about Galactica's future, we'll let you know," he said then.

For those of you old enough to remember, the original BSG did come out with a post-series feature-length movie (or two), which IMHO, was decidedly uncomplimentary. Hope this one does better.

On the one hand, I'll be sorry to see it go. But then I notice quite a few series today prefer this practice of going out on a high note, i.e., before it gets stale.

I think that Battlestar's time has come.

The third season has been patchy, to say the least, and hasn't been as consistently excellent as the first 2 seasons.

Let's hope they recover for the final season, which I'm really looking forward to.

By the way, has anyone heard anything about the spin-off - Caprica?

pax- Yeah that galactica 80's was shit. I hear there goign to make a movie for this one. which hopefully will blow me away.

Hoo-haa
Yeah I heard about Caprica. seems its been like 2 years rumoured now. Im not too psyched about it seeing that it will be about how the machines were build.. but maybe they'll put some war into it or something.

I think there are countless cases where shows we loved as kids look cheesy when viewed today.

Is this a coincidence or not:

The new Starbuck's real name is Kara, which sounds like cara, Spanish for 'face' (and her last name is 'Trace' or something, which rhymes.) 'Face' was the name of a character on the old program 'The A-Team' (short for 'Faceman'), which was played by Dirk Benedict, who was, of course, the original Starbuck.

And, of course, there's that lovely moment in 'The A-Team' when Face/Benedict is visiting Universal Studios, and then does a double-take when an actor in a Cylon Centurion costume strolls past . . .

FECK ME, I never put two and two together there...

I'm quite enjoying some of the Battlestar original series characters in comic form - Dynamite Comics. Some great stuff from them for fans of Galactica (old and new) to get their fix.

Anyone else reading that stuff?

Anyone read the books that Richard Hatch put out?

I dont know if hatch put them out but I have one novel. Its pretty much the episode from the old show where alot of the pilots get sick and they have to get some women. which I think the mirrored in the new one by having that accident where the rocket hit that one pilot in the face killing him and like 10 of them in season one.

Razor was magnificent... brutal stuff. Loved it.

Season 4, though? I heard a nasty rumour that the Writers' Strike might not just delay it being released, but actually endanger the whole season ever being fully aired?! :scare:

Being a guy who seldom has the ability to arrange his schedule to catch any particular show religiously, I will be happy as long as it eventually makes it onto DVD.
