just watched the trailers for return 4 & 5... they look absolutely terrible... lower than porn video quality. i hope these are just raw footage, but i doubt it... given how 2 & 3 decended in quality its no surprise that 4 & 5 will make 2 & 3 look like high quality productions

Yeah, I kinda see it that way too. Some of the shots do appear to have that low budget indie quality about them. The film is definitely not on the par budget wise with Resident Evil, but the gore scenes do place it above an amateur production. I just hope the video quality is due to a low quality MOV file, for downloading over the net, and not how we will view the actual footage in a theaters.

where did you see them?

Ask and you shall receive!

The web site was announced about a couple of weeks ago. It cover both flicks..... Enjoy.

Looks pretty bad! But I'll be a sucker and watch anyway. I can't really say anything about cheeze--I'm a hard core Evil Dead fan! LOL And look at Zombi--one my other favorites. I'l just reserve judgement till I actually see them I guess.

Yeah I'll probably end up getting them so I can just finish the collection.

No one actually expected them to be any good, surely.

i thought 3 was the best of the series but generally zombie movies have not been the same since the first dawn of the dead and never will be.

You couldnt be more right about that. Pretty much any film after Dawn mostly consisted of nudity and gore. There are a fiew execptions though (NOTLD remake, DawnOTD remake, Shawn of the Dead)

the film doesnt look too bad, the trailer on the other hand looks like a really bad example of 1980's straight to video trash.

i mean it goes on for like 5 minutes, the guys going on and on. its almost as long as the movie.

if they want it to look like a decent "theatrical" feature then they should have spent more time on the trailer.

The ROTLD films never were high-quality in film... Look at them! 1 was grainy, 2 was grimy, and 3 wasn't on par with most films of the early 90's.

I could see where expecting something different this time around since it's 2005 and all, but I'd just be happy that they're at least making new ROTLD movies.

I seen the trailers for ROTLD 4 & 5 and got to say it seems like crap.

Movie producers and directors are going way to far with the comedy and action in a supposed to be in a horror film. Only thing I liek from the trailers are the gore.

ROTLD 1 is the best one of all. If you were to take out a few of the funny sence its a stright horror film.

I would rank ROTLD 1 second best zombie film only behind Dawn of the Dead.

A zombie film is supposed to be a scary horror film.Resident Evil, shaun of the dead are really trash.

Shaun of the Dead is a great film. It's a tribute to Romero's Trilogy. Why can't a zombie film be funny and serious at the same time. Well, Shaun of the Dead has a great mix of humor, emotion and even a little bit of horror. You're the only one (I think) that hates Shaun of the Dead. It's a great zombie flick and that's final.

No, Alien (assuming he still lurks on these boards) hates Shaun too. And Fulci. And pretty much most zombie films not made by Romero, with very few exceptions.

There's already a thread on this very subject, entitled ROTLD 4&5 LOOK TERRIBLE!!!! (http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3063)

I can't figure out how you missed it. :loon: :?

Well, Shaun of the Dead has a great mix of humor, emotion and even a little bit of horror.

I agree, Shaun is a very good Zombie film, but unlike the original Dawn, I wouldn't say it's good mix of humor and drama. I see Shaun as much more of a comedy film, and very little as a serious Zombie film.
I don't see a equal balance there. :naughty:

I never really liked the ROTLD series, 1st one had too much comedy in it. 2nd one was just a piece of crap. Didnt really concentrate on horror and the acting was a little off if not annoying. (That other female that turned into a zombie later on moaned in such a horrible way, even for a zombie!.) And they kept switching between zombie types. I mean first they eat brains, then they ate human flesh. Are they eating brains again? argh! :x

Shaun of the dead is a good comedy. Dont say it's bad because you're only into the horror flicks. Undead movies dont have to be only horror, But if they were comedy they'd have to be well balanced...so it's not too stupid.
Shaun of the dead is a good example of a great undead comedy. Screw who'ever thinks its bad for the lack of horror! :drinking:

I think if a film wants to be fuuny then it shoulnt even be in a horror category.

The upcomming zombie films look like crap, I just hope Land of the Dead isnt like the others.

I seen Shaun of the Dead and its funny but then 10 more zombie movies will be produced just like it and get more and more dumb.

Anyway's I am a big horror and just think comedy and horror should not mix.

i loved the first 3 and I'm not trying to jump on the hate-this-movie-before-we've-even-seen-it bandwagon but they do look like crap, but at least they'll have some good gore in them. and SOTD was a good movie

Hey, if nothing else, 4 & 5 might have some good head shots. Gore is always good even if the plot sucks.

I love the Electronic Kit for ROTLD 4, I am definately gonna watch that one. The trailer amused me, even with barely any talking, the gore was there, so was the action, I loved it when the SWAT's rolled up.
