It seems Troma has filmed another piece of crap :poo: . Sure, I loved "The Toxic Avenger", but most of the films they've made since are all attempts to make a cult movie, and that's just sad. "Cannabal The Musical" is highly amusing, but it was made by Trey Parker before South Park, while he was still in College. The audio commentary is freakin' hysterical. They're getting drunk and drunker during the entire movie, and commenting how bad it is, but in the end they agree, it was okay.
So Troma new film is called "POT ZOMBIES". and it's about a bunch of weed getting sprayed with "some chemical" that when smoked, gives you the munchies for Human flesh. I think it sounds like crap, because I like stoners and funny stoner films. Why couldn't they have stoners be the hero, now that could have been hysterical, but no, Troma drops the ball again. :clap:

I know the guy making this film and he doesn't work for Troma, nor did they have anything to do with the film getting made as far as I know. Now, they might be giving him completion funds in exchange for the eternal rights of the flick like another film out in California, but that doesn't make it a Troma film.
Poultrygeist hasn't been made yet, but they are working on it.

The film sounds too much like Toxic Zombies (aka Bloodeaters). Do you know of the film?
Here's the plot summary of Toxic Zombies from the IMDB:
After drug crops are sprayed with a chemical by a passing airplane, the growers of the crop are poisoned by the chemical and turn into zombie-like mutants.

Oh Gee... How original!


Btw... The "crops" that they mention are of the Cannabis sativa variety (aka The dreaded aka Marijuana foliage).

That Troma is just being used for distribution is good, but to me it sounds like Potheads are the Zombies and that sucks.

What if Pot was the remedy, cure or preventative for Zombification. Then you got something. Zombies staggering around. All survivors tottally waisted. Now that's worth watching LoL.

And I must admit I had Bio-Zombie (Japanese) confused with Toxic Zombies, in my mind. So It IS just another re-hash.

I'm telling you, If we made a Pro-Weed Anti-Zombie Film, the money would just roll in. Provided we had amusing dialouge. And I just remembered Shauns Roommate in 'Shaun of the Dead' was a Stoner, and it's Awesome. So, there we go. I was right! LoL

I love terrible movies. I jump at a chance to watch a troma, or troma quality film. They're always good for a laugh....even if it's just to talk shit about it. That's my idea of entertainment.

I too am anti-drug, but pro-Weed(which is not a drug, since it is a natural plant, and drugs are made in labratories, but I do like asprin, so I don't think I' m totally anti-drug, but Heroine and Cocaine are bad very poor path to take :puke: ) and will also steer clear of this movie, but will probably see it anyway.

POT ZOMBIES is my movie.......it is NOT a troma movie....lloyd just has a part in it...as a pizza delivery guy...his scene is pretty funny....lloyd was really cool to give me some of his time while he was in dallas on a really busy schedule

weed does not get sprayed with anything....it is just about radioactive weed that turns people into zombies with the munchies for human flesh.

TOXIC ZOMBIES has WAY more of a plot than my movie does.

dead kev has a page on pot zombies in the indie movie section.....i am FINALLY almost done with it(editing and doing sound effects on it) and we have a myspace profile also.....the link to it is on this thread somewhere........if ya can join our myspace friends thing of our yahoo group and you will get a dvd cheap when it comes out....i am getting the first 1000 dvds pressed when i am finished and then going to try to get a distributor to release it along with all of our extras....and i have been trying to make this for a long time and have all kinds of really funny extra shit from scenes we had to reshoot.....but know it is coming together erally good and i think it's really funny and hopefully some of you will like it

Damn well written novella, very dramatic. Do you think you can write comedy, or (since this is [hopefully] a group effort) would you prefer to write the dramatic passages.

I would like to see a fantasy sequence in which a character looking at the zombie out a window says "I wonder how they see the world" zoom into a zombie and pan around off zombie to a magical world where all the zombies are regular peple and all the real living people apear to be very fast moving chocolate bunnies or gummy people and other varieties of moving candies the unknowing zombie are walking after. Remember that time Homer Simpson invision a choclate paradise, kind of like that, but since our zombie should be slow (IMHO ) the people could look all speeded up as they (the infected) did in "28 Days later" (which some consider a zombie film, others don't, this isn't the correct thread for such a debate, those already exist). :loon:

As for you comedy I have given it some thought inspired from your fantasy sequence (which I think would be funny as hell). And as far as script writing I have bounced around some questions on the do's and dont's on another message board.. So hopefully I'll have enough info to start something meaningfull

Well, I thank you for having the great taste to appreciate my fantasy sequence and I'd like to write another quick scene. A montage (spelling?) of the sexy catholic school girls fighting and killing done to Devo's "Beautiful World". It;s the perfect song for such an action sequence, with being old enough to be optained for not too much, and with a good beat, you can dance to. or fight to.

I'd prefer Highly stylized Thai-Kwan-Do. Lots of high kicking, very dramatic, which would be offset by the teenage banter as the girls talk about boys and who likes who, and how , with the Apocolypse and all, there may be difficulty in finding the right conditioner. :loon: But that's just my prefrence, use the Force aw3sk3r, I feel it's strong in you (as in the Force, that NAmby Pamby Star Wars relgion, unless it's changed in the newer films, which I haven't seen, being sickend by the the first new one, exspecially Jar-Jar Bing or whatever). :x

Seems that you're getting confused here. There are drugs like aspirin, cough syrup etc., and then there are controlled substances such as cocaine, heroin and yes I hate to tell you, but weed is also a controlled substance. I love it when I ask someone if they have any illegal narcotics or weapons on them and they say no but then sure enough, I always find some weed on them. The thing is, though, that they honest to God don't consider it to be an illegal narcotic!! I also like the part that says, "Heroine and Cocaine are bad very poor path to take..." It's funny how weed heads knock on other substance abusers and look down their nose at them! I guess something that slows your reflexes and destroys your short term memory and blackens your lungs though, is a good path to take? I for one love the weed heads 'cause in a foot chase, they're the easiest to catch!! Not only are they slow, but they hide in the DUMBEST places!! Now a crack head, (rock star), or a meth head...Now THATS a chase!! Also, don't give me that don't knock it til' you've tried it spiel, 'cause trust me...I was quite the weed head back in the eighties to early nineties so I know a little bit about that stuff from having been on both sides of the fence. OH!! As for the movie...bring it on!!! I'll rent anything with a zombie in it. Did anyone see Shadows of the Dead? That hellasucked, but I still sat through the whole thing.

I feel the same way you do WH... I can understand a low budget indie film maker, who's trying to do the best job he can with what he has to work with. Lloyd Kaufman purposely makes crappy, unfunny films, to target a specific audience just to turn a profit.
