So my Fangoria and Sports illustrated just renewed for the next 2 years and both were $24.95. While I was going over bills last night i realized, my wife said i couldn't purchase the game because it wasn't in my social funds, but the 24.95 totally up to 49.90 was just what i needed to purchase the game. I whined my wifes ear off telling her to call the bank and say the charges were fraud so they could reverse the charges, my wife got upset at the notian that i would fraud my own bank in order to get the game. So my wife is going today after her doctors appt. to buy RE4... what a lovely women i married :rock:

I have played over the last day or two and am totally hooked. The new system works great. THe graphics are wonderfull and the enviornment while now in full 3 dimensons are not as detailed. The game is worth the lake fight alone, which I will not spoil for you. Also the fight in the barn while it is alight is also worthy of adrenalin induced horror/fun. Dont mean to rub it in anyones face but reading this thread got me jonesing for another fix of RE. Have a good day.

THIS GAME IS THE BEST GAME EVER CREATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The graphics are incredible! The story is intense and well thought out! I'm 6 hours into the game and I've barely made a scratch in it! The controls are awesome! The weapons are great! Leon's abilities are incredible! OK this is not really a review just a gloat about it. This game is capcoms CASH CAMEL and if GAMECUBE would've bought the rights for it to be released only on GAMECUBE than NINTENDO would see more dollar signs. Stupid Nintendo.

LIKED IT!?!?!? Man I went to bed last night at 10pm only playing 30 minutes into the game than I got up at 3:30AM to play some more, played till 9:45AM than came to work. I'm starring at the computer screen thinking about what I need to do next... I'm 6 hours into playing time of the game and haven't even touched disk 2. man this is a great game, and the villagers ARE zombies! well closer to the 28 days ZOMBIES.

I beat it already, that happens when you play it 7 hours straight for 2 days. I never really did figure out what the yellow herbs are for, someone told me they help with health when you mix em' with green herbs but they didn't seem to do much. Hm, oh and just like before when you beat the game you get some awesome prizes...

The yellow Herbs increase your health bar, but only gives you health back according to how many green herbs you mix it with. GREEN+YELLOW+RED+GREEN= F*AID SPRAY

o ya, for those of you that have the game... how do you kill the badguys?

I shoot them in the head, to make them stagger, run up to them, give 'em a roundhouse kick and slash away while they're on the floor...saves bullets ya'know...same method for chainsaw dudes except I dont slash at them while they're down...I pump 'em full of shells!

Best way to take out the zombies is a shot to the knee run up to them and slice right at their heads, it takes 3 slices on normal but takes 7 on professional...

I just picked RE4 up last night! I didn't have any money at the time so I traded some games and DVDs for it! (I am a huge fan of the RE titles). I guess the best way to sum it up is...WHOA! This game just may be the BEST RE game, yet! Everything about this game has exceeded my expectations! To have the game just for the battle in the lake with the HUGE "Lake Monster" would be well worth it! I haven't got past the Lake battle yet, but so far, I can honestly say that this IS the BEST RE Title to date! If you haven't gotten it yet, go out and get it! The Visual Effects are beyond stunning. The errie sound effects, along with the music, is...well....eerie! The Merchant is a nice touch to the game! There are side missions to play as well, as well as other small games to unlock. There's a lot to RE4! And I can safely say that it is a lot of fun discovering it all! This game gets an A+++ in my book!

I just unlocked the chicago typewritter gun and was so stoked to use it. However when I restarted my game and went to purchase it I saw that it came with the healthy price tag of 1,000,000 pestas! Man did that suck. I tried selling everything I had which had both a killer 7, a juiced stryker, a fully charged blacktail including the extra special 50.0 juice up, a magnum, a fully juiced tmp, a quasi juiced semi auto rifle, and all my treasure and other crap I had left over and still was 400,000 short. ARGHHHHH :doh: :cry: ! Next I am going to try the impossible task of unlocking the hand cannon :evil: :scare: .

damn! did you have 10 hour sessions? i still havent beat it(but i only play like 1 to 2 hours a day) im on hour 24 right now...i think...i just passed the part where i had to cover ashley while she drove a tractor...intense! i hate saddler!

damn i wish they remade every RE game (except the Remake) with that gameplay style and graphics...we can only wish, aye stompin?

The game was long, but not as long as I thought it would be. I rented it on Sunday and beat it by Wednesday, spending the majority of those days playing it. I'd say about 10 hours or so.

I definitaly didn't like Salasar. His body guards were annoying, especialy when the black one came after you...aliens anyone?

phew!...I finally beat it! took me 29 hours, but i finally did it!...*spoiler*---i really want to re-play the game, but the extra "mercenaries" and " ada's assignment" minigames are gonna keep me from the regular game, for quite some time, especially with all the goodies they're sure to unlock!

I picked this up over the weekend and it has been hard to put it down. I finished killing that large ogre thingy the villagers brought out. Game kicks ass and the look and feel is great. I dunno what those blue areas labeld sub missions are but I hope to find out.

Question though,

Do you guys try and kill all the villagers or do you try to run away from them. I just kill them all, but I don't want to find out I will run out of ammo or something like that.

I have to say I am plesently suprised about this game I thought it was going to be be this good but I was wrong, personally I still feel that its not even close to the best (that still has to be RE2 but what can you do) the graphics are good but what really gets me is the compleet 3D environment I love the ability you have to baricade yourself into a building I just wish they had made it more 3D in the sence there was a story line but Night and Day were not based on chapters but rather having an in game clock that would go from day to night regaurdless of how far you are in the game I also would have liked to see it be all intertwined so as in any mission you could go back to anyplace in the game again. but hay I guess you cant expect perfection on there first time especially if they (at the time it was first being made) have Nintendo being the system its mainly for (seeings as it will sooner or later be for PS2).

WOW...the mercinaries game rocks!!i was able to unlock everyone in about an hour...gotta love krauser! that dude kicks major ass!!....damn, i hated the super chainsaw giant in the waterworld level....and im not to fond of hunk, sure he can break necks but if you do so around a group it leaves you dis-oriented and open to attack, BOO!! but i did get the nostalgia of good'ol RE 2...it was cool to play as wesker as well...i wish they had the option to play thru the game as the different characters...it would be a blast playing as krauser! i love that charged up arm/blade attack! now im off to ada's assignment!

When you frist come across the town and you are supposed to sneak through it. Well if you run in and are seen you will have to fight a bunch of people...and then if you run into the house they all gang up on you and you will have to face the chainsaw guy.

However if you sneak past them enough...but then are seen...or leave the village and return...you only have to fight one wave of people...since the leaders doesnt growl for backups...the bell will ring..and then you can search the whole place without fighting the chainsaw guy in close quarters...


I am finding stuff like that throughout the game..

I am actuially (after doing a lot of looking and figuring) a little disipointed at campcon unlike the other games in which they used media as a basis buit make it there own, instead this one (even though it is a good game dont get me wrong) they blatently stole a shitload of stuff from other sourses with out compleetly makeing it theres. one I knowticed was the chainsaw maniacs who look suspisously like Jason Voorhees from PT2 and any one who didn't know that should eather watch more Friday the 13th movies or not allowed to play the RE series any more if they had seen Friday the13th pt2, secondly the super one in the mercinaries fourth level is a huge take on leatherface, I mean the only way he moves is like the chainsaw dance leatherface does in the texas chainsaw massacre. now I am kind of ok with this stuff, but the other stuff is what is dissipointing, they have taken from 3 other movies (and possibly others). 2 of the 3 other movies they took blatently from is attack of the body snatchers, and John Carpenters The Thing. now the last one is a little less noticible but it has a hint of relation which is Phantoms in which there a unicellular creatures that devouer humans and then ingulf there intellegence and can bassically become that person (I am mostly dissipointed in the last 3 since Capcom usuially uses one or two refrences but in this one it felt like they were on there last legs and just trying to keep there head above water by adding so many, and I am especially anoyed at the last one since phantoms was one of the bases for the SH and the makers of SH have directly said that it was years before RE4 was even expected to exist). so there is my to cents I just feel that Capcom should be trying a lot harder in sence of material they produce them self rather than having to delve into the bin of allready used ideas that are now most defenitly past there prime.

personally I don't normally care how many are used, but this is not a normal incident Capcom has allways tryed to maintain about a one or two movie maximum for movies that inflewince the game sometimes 3 but never this many, and secondly it was going to be new and we know how unique they can make the same old stuff with zombies so why were they not able to on this one, and that also begs the question why havent they done an up to par job on any of the RE's for Cube (minus remake but i think that that was because they already hada basis for that and did not have to make it from scratch), Hmm somthing smells fishy. also I just thought of another movie that they stole from, dreamcatcher when a parisitic organism from outerspace takes over the mind of its host.

(and yes I read your prior posts Tempest) some of these ideas are Blatently taken from other movies (i.e. The Thing-Dog, Leatherface, and El-Gigante... These I think are pretty indisputable) but in all the games articles I've read Capcom has never claimed that these were original (It would cause an avelanche of lawsuits if they did) and neither has Capcom said that the borrowed these images (again because of Royalty payouts) So somewhere in the grey area is RE4... Is this wrong... No... Should Capcom have used better/more original ideas...(Thats up to the gamer and is thier opinion). Is RE4 a great game that stands with all prior RE games... I have to agree with the other favorable opinions of RE4. Sure it lacks some original ideas, but very few games and movies are 100% original these days. However, just because some of the elements are not unique, I still think that they were used in a creative and scary format. I love this game! After RE3 I was a little wary (having beat it in 2 days), but I am very impressed with this one.

Did you save as soon as you beat it the first time with a "CLEAR GAME" file? Load that game file when you start a new one.

I bought a GC when the remake first came out. I knew that if they were going to release 3 to 4 RE games only only on that system that I would be really pissed I didn't get to play them. Couple that with the great Zelda and Metroid games for it and you have a good reason todo so. And now that the price has come down on new ones, and used ones, it's a safe bet moneywise.

I have only played and only own the RE games for it, Zelda, and I sold Metroid in order to pay for RE 4.

all you need to do to play with your old wepons is load the old game save you should have from after you finished the game. than you can choose the different costumes and your old weapons.

im so frikin close!! I just need to score 5 stars on 3 levels with hunk. i just cant manage to get over 60,000 points with hunk...the tougher enemys(chaingun guy, chainsaw guys) are essential to take down to get mega points...and with his weak ass machine gun that is sooo hard to accomplish!

yeah...dont be afraid of wasting ammo for your "good" guns...the more kills you get in a row, the higher the points get....always run around and look for "hourglasses" that increase the ammount of time you have, you can see them on the map as stars...crates sometimes have extra "time" in them too...what I do is, i try to collect every hourglass in a circular path, all the while breaking crates getting ammo and extra health....once i feel im ready. I back into a corner and blast away!....or I "funnel" the zombies thru a small path and lob grenades at the crowd... always shoot the chainsaw chicks while they're down, the faster they die, the better. plus you get extra points for killing them. try following the same tactic for the other levels...4 stars unlocks a new character,leon unlocks ada in the village, ada unlocks krauser in the castle level,krauser unlocks hunk in the industrial level and hunk unlocks wesker in the waterworld level.....give it a shot!

what do you think about the broken butterfly, it seems to be a love hate weapon for most, i love it because with that exclusive upgrade you can bring down a gigante in 2 hit, frigin A!

also, anyone besides me think the infinite rocket should be a bit more accesible(Having to go through and get another 1,000,000 pesetas, kinda steep when you are also trying to upgrade your hand cannon, which might i add i found the real-steal version of).

one more thing, who's gotten hunk in the mercenaries mini game (For those not in the know, crazy fook with red goggled gas mask, breaks knecks and such) i think you need 4 stars on the island thunder mission

Useful, but in tight spaces, you can't keep snapping everyone's neck.

I feel that in some casses in tight spaces it is the best places to snap necks one bullet to their head then neck snap it throw the others around them off ballance and you can run between them, and get the hell out. I have also found that the neck snap is extreemly usefull against the chainsaw girls in the first level.

i love that gun...when i saw the exclusive brought the firepower to 50, I sold my killer 7 and used the money to upgrade the broken butterfly. awesome gun! shattered that alien dude with 3 shots!
did you guys also notice the exclusive for the regular rifle? it brings up its firepower to 18 making it stronger than the semi-auto rifle! I wouldnt get it though, i hate the whole reloading after every shot thing.....so slooooooww.
im also thinkin about selling my blacktail and buying a red 9, the exclusive firepower on that is 5.0...thats almost as strong as the shotguns intial strength...doesnt hold as much ammo though, but thats a sacrifice im willing to make.

you get those eyes the insect things drop...alot, even a couple of rare blue ones, you can use combine them with a lantern to increase their value when you sell them.

ya got that right...hes the only reason why i havent been able to unlock the hand cannon...i just cant seem to get over 60,000 points with him on the castle stage...i figured killing the claw guy will give me extra points, but since his weak spot is on his back its super annoying,plus shooting his weak spot with that crappy machinegun hardly does any damage....aaahrrrrrgggg!!
i just need that one level, and ive been stuck on it for 1 week!

have to say I agree with you, I two got over it somewhat quickly (still has a few quirks I dont like about it but I guess ther isn't any way to fix it now) I have finnished my 5th time playing through and was bord as hell playingit so I am back to REmake so I guess in a way the zombie RE's won in the end (at least for me).

RE4 is awesome. I am a cheapskate so I just borrowed my friends game and card, and the mercenaries game is awesome. Mowing down semi-zombies with shotgun and running away from chainsaw guys never gets old :-| :saw:

well you are right about the next RE (as in # RE) being on a next gen counsole because nintendo's contract with Capcom was only supposed to last untill the end of 2004 (but capcom seems to let it go a little longer so they could get RE 4 out) and the reson thay did not make an RE2 remake was that was never mentioned as a game that could be made by Nintendo, it said that they were going to make RE0, remake port 2,3, and code veronica, to the cube and make RE4 thus they one had no time to make it due to the fact that they had to finnish all RE games by the time they did, and two they would have been in breach of there contract and a lot of people (especially from sony and Microsoft) would have brought up lawsutes against Nintendo and capcom.

wow...iv'e run outta things to do...i got the infinte laucher(kicks mega ass!), i got the chicago typewriter, and the hand cannon...ive beat the games 3 times and now that i have everything, well, i kinda got bored...damn i never thought id say that about this game, but i wish they would have added a lot more extras, like maybe the ability to play thru the game as the different characters, or at least having 2 more different costumes for leon and ashley...i dunno, i think i shoulda taken my time...*sigh* :-(

I got the game at 3pm in the afternoon. My parents purposely stayed out till 11pm, so that's when we got home and hence when I started playing. Dad came into my room and confiscated the game at about 3am and told me to go to sleep because I had school the next morning..... *hmph*

Although nirvroxx is right. The main problem with the RE series is that they never put in enoough extra little things to keep you busy (unlike with some other games. Those of you who've played any GTA games will know what I'm talking about).

Im on my 4th playthrough in a row on resident evil 4. No Handcannon but the chicago typewriter and infinite rocketlauncher make it real easy now. Fun to run through the game that quick tho.. Funny how I used to spend such a long time trying to kill a boss when now I can shoot em once and the battle is over.

When its done Ill start on Resident Evil 1 remake..
