What do we like talking about almost as much as we like talking about the zombie movies we love? Yep, that's right...the zombie movies we hate.
This list isn't comprehensive, it's true. There are just too many crap zombie movies out there. So, these are the ones I picked. Have at it.

Damn, you missed out the worst one of all: Raiders of the Living Dead!!
Zombie-A-GoGo

It was on my initial list, since so many people here have said it's really horrible. But I haven't seen it, and I wanted to stick to the ones that I've at least seen. :)

You should see it. It is a life changing experience. I mean, it makes most of those other flicks look like real movies.
It's amazing to think that in 1986, when future classics like Aliens and Platoon were being released, Raiders of the Living Dead made it into theatres! :loon:

I went with COTLD. This film isn't that bad in my opinion, but it is the bottom of the list that I am aware of. I have yet to view Zombie Lake and Zombie Nightmare of course. You should have added Zombie Toxin to the list because that is the lowest form of shit I've evr endured to my knowledge. At least I can watch the others on occasion. That one is a one time only viewing if you can make it through that. Oh, and you should have added Zombie and the Beyond for Alein.

Here's a piece of trivia from IMDb:
According to director Tor Ramsey (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0709087/), he was pressured a lot during the filming by Karen L. Wolf (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0937819/) and John A. Russo (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0751652/), who made him use their friends as the film crew even though Ramsey wanted to hire other people. After screening the Directors Cut of the film, Karen Wolf took the film away from Ramsey, hired a new editor and even looped many lines to correct the plot holes of the new cut.
And here's a letter of apology from director Tor Ramsey:

Well Alien Dead is the worst zombie film I have ever seen but since it wasn't on the poll I went with Maplewoods. Total shitola of a film.
It was a toss up between Maplewoods, Zombie Lake, and Oasis of the Zombies but I chose Maplewoods. :puke: :poo:
Jason Voorhees

COLD is the top turd. Followed closely by Zombie Lake, Oasis of the Dead, and House of the Dead. A couple not mentioned, but just as deserving of a turd award are Zombie Planet, Biohazadous, Astro Zombies, Teenage Zombies, Bone Sickness, Rotten Shoalin Zombies, and Zombie 3.http://www.allthingszombie.com/images/jvsmily.gif

Children of the living dead, hardly any zombie scenes at all, except for the beginning and end (which sucked) and when Abbit Hayes brought the corpses to life.
It was pretty funny when the people in the van saw him doing a gangster walk (that's what it looked like) across the road and screamed and drove off of the cliff. It was so funny when they yelled "It's Abbit Hayes!"

I voted for COTLD, but I could've easily voted for HOTD to. :poo: :puke:

It's kinda like that Seinfeld thing, when clothes are wet they can't be more wet (or is that dry), anyway what I'm trying to say is that all these movies are at the bottom of the barrel and picking one would mean that somehow the others are just a little bit better and I won't give them that satisfaction.

Zombie Doom / Zombie '90 :poo:
If there is someone out there who has seen this and disagrees that it's the worst, im scared to hear what you voted for.
All things considered, I shouldn't count this because it's more like some foreigner/stoner/mongoloid's home movie that happened to make it to my hands. So if I had to go for a more mainstream movie it would probably be Zombie Lake.
There is also a new DVD out there entitled "Zombie chronicles" it's very amateur and probably one of the worst if you let ZD off the hook for being foreign dubbed.

Well Zombie Doom & Zombie 90' are two different flicks, directed by the same guy. I actually liked Zombie Doom a little better than 90', but don't misinterpret my words, they both sucked ass. I eventually went for House of the Dead because of it's volume of pathetic "cool" moments. There are too many incidents stolen from a hundred films before it, that it just renders the entire film a complete waste of time and money on everyone's behalf. If i see one more "Matrix" moment in a movie, i may well explode. Just one big pop video from start to finish. :puke:
I shoulda maybe have gone for Children seeing as it's at number one with almost everyone else here, AND you're all right to have voted so. But i couldn't give it the ultimate thumbs down because of the inane moments of unintentional comedy. Tom Savini is embarrassing at the start of the movie trying to, again, be "cool" by leaping on cars and firing pistols whilst diving thru the air, also, confusingly overdubbed with mumblings making him sound like Popeye!
And the van going over the cliff makes me roar. I don't know what it is about that scene, but it envokes memories of Some Mother's Do 'ave 'em. It's an awful AWFUL excuse of a movie, and completely insane too. Everything is so random!
Well anyways. They both suck in a big way

I picked "Garden of the Dead" since my real pick wasn't available. Just recently I purchased a 3-DVD Movie Pack called "Zombie Fest" for $30.00 & some change + SH. It arrived I was all happy since it contained 2 movies I have not seen yet... Zombie Movies! YAY!
The DVD's are:
1. Gates of Hell II
TERRIBLE even for a Spaghetti Zombie flick. Had nothing to do with the 1st movie either.
2. Night of the Zombies
I have this Movie under another title "City of the Living Dead" ...This version is dark as hell and is poor VHS quality. "City" being a complete and total rip-off of Romeo's "Dawn of the Dead" is not a bad movie at all. If you have not seen this one, I suggest seeing it. Just for the rip-off's and creepy stock footage alone.
3. Revenge of the Dead
OMG... I've seen paint dry and had more fun. This movie has a lot to do this talking, Looking around, and yet more Talking... Lots of Talking.
But contains little or no Zombies. Halfway through I watched the remainder in fast speed just to get through it.
My true pick would be this DVD set... Zombie Fest (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008G7FI/qid%3D1123578932/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-0905587-2236819).

Question: Doe's anyone have a clue why so many Spaghetti Zombie DVD's share the same "Zombie" Art?

I've found that zombie movies are a very personal thing. It's all up to what you're looking for. I've had a few zombie movie parties with friends and there's a lot of disagreement about what is gold and what is crap.
Looking at your poll I must have had tremendous luck avoiding bad zombie films though. I almost picked up 'House of the Dead' on DVD for $2.99 this past weekend since I've never seen it, but I came to my senses and bought a chalupa value meal at Taco Bell instead. That wasn't much better, but at least it didn't make me sad.
I've only seen one movie on the list and that was "Zombie Lake". It was bad but as someone said earlier at least it had nudity. Still, it got my vote by default.
The worst zombie movie I've ever forced myself to sit through that is not on the list was "The Astro-Zombies". I've only seen it once but as I recall from the muddle of "plot", the zombies – all two of them – were powered by electricity and if, during their rampage, they started to run out of power they could hold a flashlight to their head and run back to the laboratory for a recharge. And, batteries being what they were in 1969, they ran down quickly.
When we were done watching it I was angry at my brother. Not because he bought it. I bought it. I was just angry at everything and he was closest. The anger has passed but he reminds me of Astro-Zombies from time to time. Especially after we watch a bad movie that IS his fault.
The only thing that disturbs me more than the thought of ever watching that movie again is the fact that there is another one, "Mark of the Astro-Zombies". Apparently it's a re-envisioning of the original according to IMDB. No plans to watch it. Have any of you seen it?

Isn't that Dr. Butcher M.D.? That's a great flick! The events in that movie are so disconnected and it's a good laugh. There were a few minutes of zombies in there too somewhere... in the beginning I think.

I can't understand why House of the Dead has SO many votes. Yeah, it wasn't a great movie, but unlike MOST of the other movies on the list it had a budget, good zombies (make-up and acting). Even the directing wasn't that bad (except for the video game cut scenes, I mean WTF's up with THAT?). Maybe it's got so many votes because it's newer and had a wide release in theatres so more people saw it. I have to admit I haven't seen many of the other movies on the list so I can't vote agaist them (Zombie Nightmare sucked! A movie with one zombie? BORING!!!) but I voted for Maplewoods.

speaking of children, why isn't Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things on the list? Don't get me wrong, I love it for the pure cheez and campiness! I heard there might be a remake?
This poll is for the lowest of the low... While Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things may not have been a 5 star Zombie flick, it doesn't deserve to be listed along with the rest that you see posted here. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/Characters/1bnz_smiley.gif

I guess you're right. I personally love the movie for the reasons stated above, but others may not. To each his own! OK, I'll take back my vote.

The 5th Element is an awesome movie! Anyway, I voted for House of the Dead. Those teenagers somehow became martial artists and were killing zombies left and right. I like bullet time but it just looked stupid in this movie.

Did anybody mention Alien Dead? I heard that one sucked too. Of all these 'crap' zombie flicks, I only bothered seeing Hell of the Living Dead, and though the acting, characters and story suck, it's saved by the plentiful zombies/gore scenes, which occur often. Plus it makes me want to watch Dawn of the Dead, which is a good thing.

It takes more than one poll that only provides ten slots to list every crappy zombie flick out there. Maybe Kevin should adjust it to provide about 3,000 slots.

I had to vote Maplewoods.... as I haven't encountered some of the rest, and hence can't judge them!
Maplewoods is one of two zombie flicks that were so bad, I had to turn them off.... I can't even remember the other flick's name, such was the trauma!
It should also be noted that this comes from the bloke who was 'entertained' by both Children Of The Living Dead and House Of The Dead... for me to turn something off is, therefore, a big deal! :scare:

Christ! Haven't seen this one, but it's done by a man who is a wannabe of both Boll AND Russo ?!? His zombie-lover soul is lost...
Garden of the Dead really isn't THAT bad. Shoddy, I'll admit, but not nearly as blatantly annoying as House of the Dead.

I saw ROTLD: Necropolis... just very, very weird, It had its cool parts. But seemed like part "teen I-can-do-it movie" and part zombie movie. I know people on here will disagree :scare: but Ill concede parts were bad, but I actually liked Raiders of the Living dead... a little. Reminded me of that old NES game "Maniac Mansion" where you hafta save the kid's GF from the alien scientist. IDK why I was reminded of that, just was haha.

That would've been my choice as well, it's the only zombie flick i've ever had to turn off. Zombie Planet, Zombie Dead (Burial Ground), Zombie 3, Chopper Chicks in Zombietown, and Flesheater (Zombie Nosh, Revenge of the Living Dead) complete my :poo: list. The RE movies only just stay clear. I've made sure to avoid House and DotD2 based on their reputations.
Out of the list whlile Oasis and Lake are both complete wastes of time it has to be Hell of the Living Dead (Zombie Creeping Flesh). That film is so poor and throughout, the constant use of stock footage, bad acting, bad dubbing, completely nonsensical twists (why would you put on a dress, and top hat and start dancing around with a cane when your supposed to be SWAT trooper hunting zombies?). The biggest crime is using th Dawn sountrack throughout:x GRRR!

Of the movies on the list, I've only seen House.
There's a lot of other bad movies I've seen that didn't make the list.
ROTLD 3
Burial Ground
Children shouldn't play with dead things
The Beyond
City Of The Living Dead.
The revenge of Bloody Bill
Dawn 04

House of the Dead. Ugh. I cringed the whole way through, but I pressed on, thinking "come on, this has to get better, surely?!"... no. Okay, I lie. Towards the end when that brunette in the corset-style black top with GAPING front-lace-up starts fighting, etc... her boobs are almost jumping out... so I guess in the context of the rest of the movie, it did get better... but only because I'm a pervert.

...Allow me to set the scene for you. The time is fall, 2001.
I'm sick. So sick, in fact, that I'm forced not to attend the Misfits show I could've gotten into for a mere $10. So sick that I've been having hideous fever dreams.
But at LEAST this day I have a brand new zombie flick rented up and ready to take my pain away.
That flick is Children Of The Living Dead.
Ouch.
For the longest time I actually thought this flicks WAS one of those hideous fever dreams. From the sound of things I was wrong.

Quite honestly, I would watch House Of The Dead and Children Of The Living Dead a thousand times before I watched Oasis Of The Zombies again. Honestly, Andy Warhol once made a movie called Sleep where he filmed a man sleeping for eight hours in one long uniterrupted take. Oasis is the only film I've ever seen that duplicates that effect and it does it in 60 something odd minutes.
Thank Satan it wasn't a whole two hours or id've been a slab of concrete. I needed a Pulp Fiction like shot of addrenaline to the heart to keep from slipping into a permanent coma:scare:

Since I'm a sucker for 'so bad it's good' films, as long as I can get a laugh out of it, it's not a waste of DVD material.
However after reading the offerings in the poll, I believe I've got quite a list to submit for Bad Movie Night with my friends.

Why you would not take the time to answer my question but take the time to put up one of those kinda almost cute animations is beyound me but I thank you anyway. The reason I do not rent is simply it is not available around me. Before I would buy a flick that seems to fall below even watching is I was wondering if it's laughable bad or just bad like 'Contagion?' If you dont wish to answer that's o.k,,but I'll pass on the cartoons.

I just saw "Hell of the Living Dead" by Mateo and I got to say it was a pretty good movie. I put it up with Dawn '78 and Day of the Dead. For a cheap film, I never saw a better image of zombies before. The zombies in this film all deserve an A. They really acted like zombies, walked and acted and everything well. I really enjoyed this film. Matter of fact they were better zombies in this film than in Dawn and Day. I think I can talk about this film in my dreams on how good it was. It was way better than Fulci's "City of the Dead."

Oh yeah, I was glad he was eaten but Hell of the Living Dead has to be the best movie by far on the list. It has to be. The zombies were remarkable. I wish I could get those same people to play in my movies--they made it so believable.:drinking:

The House of the Dead like Resident Evil was based on a video game. A video game I never heard of and wouldn't want to play it after seeing the movie.

House Of The Dead-That movies plot was so screwy. Of course I saw it on the Sci-fi Channel and they love to butcher moves to :poo: and back. I haven't see any of the others or if I did it was so long ago. I need a good old fashioned zombie weekend. :drinking:

COTLD was so bad that it was actually fun to watch,..like Plan 9 from Outer Space. We were cracking up and rewinding the part where the dog is left on the porch and you can see the stitches of the stuffed "double"...LOL
And when they haul azz out of town by car and make it to the house and lord have mercy, the zombies are there a minute later, and....its dark as hell outside already.
Oh yeah, and that zombie walk which took him forever to get from point A to point B.
And it never fails, some rich investor cannot resist to build a huge store out in the middle of nowhere on cemetery....."Location, location, location"
Been a while since I saw this flick (hopefully the scenes I mentioned were from this flick,,,he he), but it's so bad that Im actually gonna buy it.
