Does anyone have any reference or source for older zombie short story titles? Say from the 70's and back?

“Herbert West- Re-animator” and “The Outside” by H.P. Lovecraft may count. They were written in the 1920s I believe. You can find PDFs of them here:

It has all the early stories which helped influence the early development of zombie fiction.

I'd imagine if you kept an eye for it you could get it pretty cheaply second hand. There are a number available for pence on at Amazon.co.uk:

www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0426201612/

and a few bucks at ABE:

I highly recommend it although it is more voodoo zombies.

ome of them are available online - Lafcadio Hearne's short stories of his time in Martinique (along with Seabrook these are true stories of encounters with zombies or people who have met them) were colected together and publsihed in one volume which is available online.
