How is this? is this available on Amazon?Does this have car chases? i read a review about a American Zombie movie made out west a few years ago and it said this film was an example of a small budget victory. How is this?

You might find it cheaper if you try other sites like Amazon.

I don't think so Darth. This is a low budget, indie pic, that is not even registered with the IMDB. These guys are also selling this flick, directly from their web site, using PayPal. Probably to cut out the middle man.
Here, click on this link: Dead Life (http://www.schottenfilmworks.com/main.htm)
I'm gonna pick up my copy real soon, I tell you what I think of it.

well thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it. Reading the reviews I have me serious doubts. I doubt it is the film I read about a year or two ago. The review I read said there were car chases that actually worked and that it was filmed out west somewhere. I believe the northwest. The review said that the movie I am thinking of that I dont know the title said it was a pretty darn good zombie flick, Any clues? Out west filmed in Washington state or Oregon and had car chases? As to this film I will buy it direct from the guys who made it at ebay. Got to support creativity and particularly Zombie creativity. I just hope I can watch it to the end..

Well hello all..first post.

Actually i just recieved this (I'm sure I'm the only guy in the Uk to see it, as they had to look up postage rates for me!) and a review will be up soon on my Site...
It has flaws and the low budget is on display in many scenes...but it's fun and has a few really creative set pieces and ideas, a nice surround 5:1 mix and some great music.
Even comes with a music video and a makers commentary.

In fact i got here because the Site is thanked on the end credits!

Well, I got this film. It doesn't play in most DVD players, to include PS2, although it is a DVD-R. Hmmm. It was playing on my computer and then got all screwed up toward the end. I'll try it again later and see if I get it working. Blah.

Hey guys
I think now would be a good time for me to tell you all a little about "Dead life" this little known film was shot on the HUUUUUUUGGEEE budget of $7500.00 about the cost of a new Geo Metro LOL. One of the cool things about the movie is that it was shot on super 8mm film giving it that 70's horror look as noted by this writer.

"Dead Life has the look and feel of an early 1970s zombie film. If you liked Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things, then you'll like Dead Life! Great DVD extras too! I love that Super 8 look!"

-Vincent L. DeNiro, INDIE SLATE MAGAZINE

So I loaded the movie with zombies, HEAVY METAL and a good bit of profanity ........... all the things I loved as a kid!!! Now you cant shoot a movie for $7500.00 and expect it not to have obvious problems .... Dead Life is what it is ......... a fun zombie flick.

And I hope that people who see it will have as much fun as I did making it
:D

This sound like a run of the mill non inspired idea for a zombie movie. I'd love to see it just for the sake of seeing it but it sounds like it might be a waste of $ if I can't count on it to work in my machine. My apologies to the film makers. :-|

Well the trailer looked good enough for me to want to buy it. I also think its a good idea for people to support each other when they both love the same thing.Partivularly if it's not a rip off. It takes months and months and lots of happy cash to give birth to a creative project and twenety seconds for someone to shoot it all to shit . I think criticism is a good thing it saves people money and time and weeds the wack but lets give brothers in arms a chance particularly without even seeing it

I haven't watched it yet, but I took hateful's warning, and checked out the DVD for defects. Everything looks a-OK, so far.
Some of my first impressions so far are that the DVD is thankfully not of a Panasonic recorded format, and the menus aren't of a generic origin either. The front design of the DVD case, I was expecting a little more perhaps, like the movie poster on ATZ. In fact, it was a black and white pic of a zombie, with your usual DVD info around it, and on the back cover.
I did take goesaround's advice, and watched the trailer for the very first time. The zombie shots seemed very good (make up wise), except for a few of them. As far as the rest of the trailer goes it wasn't bad, and I'm looking forward to seeing the film in its entirety.

Dead Life is a pretty good ****in movie. It starts out a little slow, and you wonder if you will make it through another garbage zombie movie, but it turns into a movie I was very interested in. It is VERY low budget, which I tend to like, it has a heavy metal soundtrack, and a very nice piece of zombie ass, i woulda done it, I must admit. All in all, this was a pretty good flick, check it out.

I feel like a got jipped here. :-(

I bought the first edition as soon as it came out, and the DVD cover was a crummy black & white photocopy... I was kind of expecting a pic of the full color movie poster on the cover, but I got the generic model instead. :x http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/Characters/1bnz_smiley.gif

A long haired guy watches as a zombie eats away on a living person. Does he run? No, instead of using logic, he simply drops his pants and proceeds to hump the zombie. She turns around and bites off his manhood or what appears to be a sausage.

The actors decide to stay in a house surrounded by zombies all the while they have a car outside... It's not until later on they actually decide to use it.

The blood looks like red paint and the stuff coming out of their mouths looks like motor oil. There's this weird thing going on where they shake their heads a lot. Dandruff maybe?

The acting was the worst I've ever seen and believe me I've rented some real horrible grade B movies. What's with all of the tattoos and long hair? Is it a Metallica concert or a horror movie?

It was a good attempt at a movie. An A for effort but the whole zombie sex scene made it laughable more than anything.

Was it supposed to be a comedy maybe? or maybe the directors got a little "side-tracked"

I think it was meant to be a tad comical but the whole dry humping a dead zombie and watching her bite off his dick, made it ridiculous.

Speaking of which, I am hungry for sausage on a bun....

when i hear about stuff like that i always think back to dawn of the dead, when the biker stops to use the blood pressure machine as the mall is being overrun by zombies...not to mention all the gunfire as well. it's just an added shot of absurdity to an already absurd coctail of corpses returning to life and feasting on the living.

i'd like to see a reeaaally stoopid guy think he can get a zombie blowjob. now that would be really funny. any movies like that out there?

I just watched this movie but didn't really care for it. The DOS looking CGI, people throwing themselves at the zombies, Chuck Norris Jr., the blurry grain look of the film (artifacts galore), fake muzzle flare complete with Doom gunshot sound effects, and zombie spaz attacks.

I tried watching the extras but no one explained the point of the zombie spaz attacks. Although they were extremely out of place, it looked hilarious. Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch.

But, a fantastic soundtrack. I was really impressed with it (even if the sampling rate was a tad high). All and all, I'm glad I rented it... can't recommend a purchase.
