Risen the movie has wrapped up production. I would expect to see the trailer out very soon.

I am looking forward to see this film. Its look greats from the pictures and hundreds of zombies.

The Director is a big zombie genre fan so I wouldnt expect this to be some cheesy film.

I actually just interviewed Damon Crump the director of "Risen". He's a really cool guy and he loves his zombies. David Talbot, the writer and producer of "Risen" is also quite interesting. I'm really looking forward to seeing "Risen" as it sounds Crump has some interesting directorial techniques and influences.

As I stated last year...I'll probably see the film but this will in no way be a major zombie curveball. I fully expect to see the same old formula. Not that there's anything wrong with that but it does get a bit old.

If nothing else there is already 90 minutes of the movies completed so even if they were to run into problems finishing the rest of the filming it'll at least be released with enough movie to please. Let's just hope they do a good job in the editing department. :evil:

Just a hunch. A lot of trailers hide a bad movie by not putting enough scenes in the trailer and only putting the best scense in it. There were a lot of scenes in the Risen trailer and most looked really good. And the scenese were long enough to tell if they were just misleading clips. The only thing that can hurt this movie now is that it's 90% complete but they have enough right now to make a 90 minute movie, so if funds run out we may end up with a 90 minute movie that jumps around and doesn't make sense. That's why I believe when 100% completed this movie will rock.

But don't take my word for it... we'll all just have to wait and see. :evil:

I've read the script for Risen (I'm the voiceover guy who voices the radio announcer in the film) and it was a really good read. If the finished product is half as good as it was on paper, you guys are in for a treat.

GiGi Erneta (lead female) has been in a LOT of B horror films, plus she was on Veronica Mars a couple of times.

Adding sound effects, music, etc. With luck, in a couple more months we'll have a 100% complete and ready to watch movie.
Having seen the fully edited picture, I'm honestly amazed how well it came out. There were a few scenes that on location I was afraid weren't coming out well but on screen, man they really came together. All hail the mighty Damon Crump. :)

The good news is it's officially final-We will not have to have any more reshoots. We got everything we need. A huge load off of a producer's mind. Thanks to everyone who has been so patient through this process, I promise, once it's all done it'll be worth it!

Agreed. There's no chance it'll be playing in a theatre near me, so hopefully I can finagle a copy for cheaper. I'm not willing to pay $25 considering the quality I've seen to date. Still looks like some fun, if not campy mass zombie sequences so I'm willing to remain cautiously optimistic.

We hope to have a screener out in a few months at the most (to distributors). Once we have a screener in place, we'll get some dates with some of the indie film venues while we work to get a deal closed. There is no lack of interest on the distribution side, I've got over 20 requests for screeners from reputable distributors, so here's hoping we can close it fast!

So I guess it should be out eventually. Still, it's dropping quite quickly to the bottom of my list, a shame really because it takes quite a bit for me to give an indie flick a chance.

Your probably right, but I don't lose anything by sticking it on my waiting list, if it is a fake they'll just send me something else. Also the Risen site hasn't been updated in just over 2 months and at the time of that update it was 100% edited and 100% scored, with only sound effects left to add. This is just about plausible as a release, it just seems very low-key. I'm not getting my hopes up but here's hoping.

GiGi and Joe were together again last night for a commercial shoot (wedding promotion) and I had to take the opportunity to get a few "wedding pictures" as a nice added bonus.

Friday we're shooting a bonus bit with Joe, a few zombies great zombie kill SFX trick you'll love. It's a last minute addition, something we wanted to get origionally but got time compressed for at the location. Will be a 5-10 additional seconds to the runtime but will be *so* worth it.

Feg/Liberty are on track to get the foley done by the end of the month. If you're in Waco and available any time between the 26-29th email me. We need some misc zombie voice talent as part of the foley track.

In other news, the UK members of the nation might be the first to see Risen. We plan on applying to the Dead By Dawn festival in the UK. Feel pretty confident we'll get accepted (they approached us and asked us for a screener), just got to get worked out how much a Beta-PAL conversion will cost If it costs too much we might have to skip this one.

OK, just a suggestion, but they may want to change the name of this movie because there already is a zombie movie called The Risen from a few years ago. Having the same name may cause some confusion for those who might seek out the movie. Just a suggestion.

Oh my... well whilst I was here I thought I'd comment on this flick. I once asked Corgi (I think it was him) to mention something but apparently he did not.

This film just pisses me off. 99.9% of the peeps involve din it do not post at the ZN or only post there when they want to say something about Risen.

The hardcore ZN members who did work on it are either A the producer who never turns up anymore, never posts etc or B other regular posters who hate the Risen peeps and are pretty honest about how crappy the film will be.

If it was up to me the film would have one thread like every other film and well, basically, there would be no Zn involvement. I wa spretty open about what I thought on the imdb boards and I've happily had a go about this flick right within the Risen section.

Don't get me totally wrong, there are some ok peeps from this film (just a few) and it is another zed film so lets hope it turns out ok... probably won't though cause I've heard the director was a total moron who wante dto do his own thing and screwed up a lot... I shan't be paying for thsi one and I can't wait for it to get released so I shit can all those threads and the Zn can wave goodbye to the morons.

BTw the admin of Zn and other peeps only tolerate the shit because a promise was made to host the chat about the film, everyone bar the fools who have like 5 posts at the Zn couldn't care less about the flick and would much rather see it done and gone, most of our members don't even post in the Risen section.
