I've loved comics for most of my life and now I'm into zombie movies, but I've never bought a zombie comic. So, where is a good place to start. I've heard good things about the Walking Dead, but that's about it.
Also, this is a unrelated question. In the movie Tremors 3, there's mention of a Tremors comic. Does such a thing actually exist and where can it be purchased? A search on Ebay found nothing.

no clue on the tremors comic. as far as zombies comics, the best that i've read is definitely the Walking Dead. it just kicks major ass.
the only other zombie comic i've read that i'd even consider recommending are the old Dark Horse Comics limited series and one shots titled Zombie World. they had several different small runs and they had a couple one-shots as well. i'd recommend checking them out.
also, even though i have not gotten into it yet, George Romero himself is writing a comic called Toe Tags for DC Comics. like i said i haven't gotten into it yet, it's not really traditional zombie stuff and it's not as good as the 2 previously mentioned comics but it could get better.

Just picked up issues 10-13 of the Walking Dead from the local comic store. Sadly, that's all they had. I like what I've read so far, but damn comics are short these days. Anyway, does someone know where I can pick up issues 1-9 kinda cheaply but still in good shape?
You could go for the paperback of issues 1-6 (Days Gone Bye). It should be a nice cheap price of about $10 still. And I think the second paperback recently came out collecting 7-12.

Oh thanks, that would be good for a reading copy. Are the actual issues going up in price?
The Walking Dead is definitely the place to start, I'd suggest getting the 2 graphic novels (Issues 1-6 and 7-12 collected).
Zombie World has some great stuff, but I agree that the one shot issues are the way to go. The series' were pretty weak by comparison (Eat Your Heart Out was one of the best comics I've ever read).
Toe Tags is alright, but so far I'm not very impressed. Unlike The Walking Dead it is FULL of ads. The Walking Dead is all comic, I counted the pages in the first issue of Toe Tags- 22 pages of comic, 14 pages of ads. Don't get me wrong, 22 pages is pretty much normal for a comic, but still pretty annoying. I've got the first 2 issues, and I'm waiting for more. It's very difficult to judge this early on, as it gets into the action straight away. It didn't even start to make sense until the end of the second issue. (If anyone knows more: have I missed something???). It might be worth your while to get this though, as you can read it from the beginning.
Another graphic novel to check out is "Remains". It's good if you're really into the genre, but with an empasis on action rather than dialogue it's a pretty short read for what you're paying. If you're unsure, find a quiet corner in the comics shop and just read it there...
I hope this helps some ^_^

nooo! your spoiling it for yourself!I would highly suggest waiting till you have the complete series, and start from the begining...anyway, try a barnes and nobles....i recently saw volume 1(issues 1-6) there for the listed price of 12.95...you could try buying them online to. thats where i bought my first 3 issues, got them 2 weeks after i ordered them...o ya, they are getiing more expensive...the first 6 at least...

yeah they are going up in price, they are one of the hottest comics going right now. they're almost back on schedule now so no one can be turned off by them getting behind any more. Ebay has a lot of Walking Dead issues on it. i've seen the early issues go for as much as 30+ and for as little as 5-10, so just keep your eyes peeled and i'm sure you'll find the original issues. btw, 1-5 or 6 has had a second printing, so make sure you're getting the first print.

yeh man, Get The walking dead TB's: Days gone by and Miles Behind us. I myself think the first 1-6 are the better of the series because of Tony Moore's artwork, But the other guy has gotten better since issue 7.
