It’s a little strange to be writing this last post I never thought I would write.
I can still remember my 1st thread/post back in November of ‘04.
A 550 word introduction thread. Jason Vorhees was my 1st replier.

I’m not sure exactly when ATZ stopped being home for me.
I know it has something to do with when guys like Nemesis, RIP (back when he was RIP), !Vision!, and Pain stop frequenting the forums.
ZK101, HOO-HAA and Frank Dellamorte are still great contributors but are not here as often.
I miss the whole lot, I guess.

Or perhaps it has something to do with all the dumb-f-u-c-k (pardon my language, just this once) kids who have been vomiting all over the site.
Trolls talk so tough with their keyboard-jutstu.
You see them in real life and the cowards run from you before you get the chance to even spite out a challenge.

I was and am still not much of an internet person. Or a cyber-chatter for that matter. I don’t have the fingers for it.
Strangely, ATZ was a home for me.
It was a forum that was different from the rest in that it was frequented by a hardcore motley group of which I was glad to be a part of.
And it never became a circus with hundreds of members online at a time each with a microphone.

Dead Kev fashioned this garden of Eden called AllThingsZombie.com and we did frolic; or rather raise hell, I suppose. Even stranger is that the ATZ forums was fashioned with the idea of discussion around a very dark thing; reanimation of a Human corpse and the subsequent violence that took place afterward, proliferation and Human extinction. But ATZ was never a dark place. It was, rather, the place where people could shed light on the chaos and confusion that was Romero’s, Savini’s, Fulci’s and Russo’s apocalyptic vision of our people’s end.

I feel that this place doesn’t have that much depth anymore. Maybe it has grown dark… and empty. I don’t really care if my account gets canceled or not. I would hope BZN doesn’t trouble himself.

On personal note, my life has been chalked full of craziness.
Relocations, diets, break-ups, comatose days, sleepless nights, and just about everything else. Things sure have settled down, though. Now that I have more time for ATZ, it’s then I noticed she’s changed, figures. Also, It’s been months since I’ve been in the gym. After so long an abstinence, I‘m ready to pop! (Well, baby, here I come.)

It’s possible I might drop in once or twice more but honestly I doubt it.
I developed a habit in recent years of when saying goodbye, I don’t look back. Adios, brothers, sisters. Thanks for all the good times! …Have a good life.

Yours always;
Thing

p.s.
Happy Halloween

Hey thing... wow, sorry to hear another one of the old boys has hung up his (blood speckled) ATZ boomstick...

I don't get to ATZ quite as much as I like. I guess, like you, I remember glory days when I first joined, and the fun a few hardcore members had in the chat rooms, back then. However, new blood must come through and ATZ has to be that place we remember for a whole new group of people, I guess...

Anyway, don't be a stranger, man. Drop me a PM and I'll send you my e-mail address.

Take care, man.

It's a shame to see you go. Although I am new to this forum, after reading through some of your past posts, you have always provided rather insightful posts here. This is definitely a loss to this message board and I hope you decide to give this place another chance in the future (or at least post under a different name if you wish to remain anonymous)

Whatever you decide, best wishes to you!

Well, I never much knew you, but I can still say that you will be missed. I hope to see you in the future, even if not permanently.

I hate to say it, but this is what happens when you let the site fall into disrepair. You get no new blood and the remaining community dwindles away. I like this site and all, but I only check it for news on the boards, and even that has slowed.

The tragic thing is that we are in the midst of a zombie bubble. This place should be exploding. Seriously, someone kick Dead Kev in the behind and breathe some life in this place. Update the rest of the site. It looks terrible when the latest DVD release is Diary of the Dead. When people see that, they don't bother to visit the forums because by all appearances ... the site is dead.

If you do nothing then I can guarantee you this site will be a domain placeholder in a couple of years.

That is sad, I just found it. That is the way it goes I guess. I just started a blog, www.deadwalking.com (http://www.deadwalking.com), and was searching for other people who have a love for zombies like me.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for where we can all go talk about awesome zombie stuff?

Yes, I remember the glory days too. Times pass, and people wander in and out. It's the nature of the game. I hardly drop by here anymore. I spend most of my online time in Second Life now running the audio stream for a group that listens to old-time horror radio shows. We all find new places to go.

Take care, Thing. I hope you find somewhere that feels as much like home as this place once did for you.

I logged into this site today to find SPAM ADDS in my inbox! like WTF???

I like this site a lot but i do not post much simply for the site is so big I feel lost in the crowd. I have not been able to connect with anyone here.

I too had wonderful spam in my inbox which brought me back after a few months of being absent. This has always been a cool site just life gets in the way sometimes. I never met you, but it's still sad to hear someone leave. Still, I'm not really sure, either why you're leaving.

Sad indeed. Like Thing, I'm leaving also. Like him, I've had it with the mall ninjas and keyboard commandos. I'm also sick to death of moderators that delete posts and even threads. There are other, better places where the conversations flow as they would in the real owrld, as they should here. Ciao all, it's been real.
