Anyone been getting these? A work colleague lent me the first two issues yesterday and I read through them last night. They're not bad - artwork is decent (if generic) but the storyline is a little weak (so far). For some reason, it reminds me of Vincent Locke's early Deadworld comics. I also find it interesting/amusing that the zombies - as seems to be the popular norm these days in comics - are once again greatly rotted and 'creatively' mutilated, despite the outbreak being reasonably 'fresh'. I'd have at least expected them to still look a bit more 'human' than they do (considering that Romero wrote the story, but I guess the artists had the say in the zombies' appearance).

Overall, it's not bad. Not great either, but not bad.

to be honest i'm terribly disappointed so far. while toe tags #2 was a little better than #1, i think it's crap to this point. there is only a small amount of plot so far, most of it is action. i'm confused how GAR can even put this crap out knowing his zombie faithful will be reading it and he has a new film coming out in less than a year while there is a zombie comic on the market that puts toe tags to shame. the walking dead is so much better than this garbage its pathetic. it kind of scares me knowing that he's currently working on the new zombie film at this time. has he lost his touch?

I guess it depends just how much input Romero had into the actual presentation of the story. He may have written it, but I would imagine the comic book studio would have decided how to lay it out. Maybe they wanted to focus more on the action bits (since they obviously offer the most zombie gore). Who knows?

I've been keeping up with toetags, yet I'm pretty confused, I was slightly dissapointed with thefirst issue but i bought the second issue just to see if anything would liven up or something, but it just got pretty twisted and confusing  with the whole ''attila'' zombie army thing...what's up with that? I need to read the walking dead graphic novels...I've heard good things...

Just read #2 (i missed #1) and thought it was ok. A bit confusing but hopefully will come together in time.
Will probably keep getting them just so i can see the whole picture in the end. Think it will have to improve to compete with The Walking Dead which i think is awesome so far.

I read Issue #3 today. Can't say that this story seems to be going anywhere fast.

THe story doesnt make any sense. How can he as a human in Issue 2 save here in the outbreak on his motorcycle, then ride home with his parents from college (SPOLIERS)

TO then get turned into a super zombie just to save her again. Man is it ever confusing.

Also If this is a mini series comic (4 issues isnt it?) then they need to get the stroy synced up and gowing.Issue #3 was a lot better than the first 2 but still needs some streamline.

I'll just state here that I have been putting together a collection of zombie horror "stuff" and have been focussing on building the collection first and being able to enjoy later. (buy stuff signed etc and keep it protected and never read...then buy same stuff later to enjoy) I picked up a #1 signed by artist and writer CGC'd for display purposes in my collection...is it worth it to pick up another copy to read or just keep as a collection piece and pick one up later down the road. I am paying for my wedding coming up soon and money is tight...I'm thinkin', by the reviews I'm reading, that I can wait until later to splurge on this. Or, despite the flaws, is it worth breaking the bank to check it out?

I'm talking picking up the 3 issues and the problem is my head gaskets just went in my car as well! I'm out $1500 for that plus wedding costs...

Such is life...I'll have to wait I guess. I just havn't spent cash on myself for years...until a couple walking dead purchases last month. I think I'm getting addicted!

I was really looking forward to this comic because of romeros involvment but I hate to say it but Toe Tags blows. It gets dumber and dumber with each one that comes out. Issue 3 and I'm out........... zombies using guns , talking , making plans , and the pet elephant :loon: ................. and I got pissed about the zombies in Dawn 04 runnin around !!!!!

I was in my local comic shop today lookin for notldbzc #3 and against my better judgement I picked up toe tags #4. Dont know why , I guess 'cause I just wanted to see just how bad it was going to get. All I can say about it is :puke: :poo: :puke: :poo: There isnt a smiley that would show how bad this book sucks ass !!!

I_Apocalypse - Don't buy another one!
Let me handle it. Besides, I brought home #4 today, and it got soaked somehow. I didn't so much as flinch or even try to read it yet.

Does that make me awful?

I guess I'll avoid this one...The CGC'd signature series #1 I picked up signed by Ramos and....uh...castillo I beleive, from Rodney himself...And he threw in #3 signed by himself along with a zombie sketch he drew up. Not bad as far as collecting goes and for the cost of the one comic. Thanks for the feedback on this one gentlemen, its greatly appreciated!
