- in that intro you have all - Johnny Cash, caos, in that few minutes you got answer how the zombi plague spread across the country


BEST ENDING is:

"Night of the Living Dead" (1990)
- i like the end in original NOTLD but in this one I like the end beacuse Harry Cooper character...*SPOILER ahead
When you see him alive man that is suprise...that bastard alive and Ben dead... and then barbara kills him (yeah)

The beginning to Dawn of the Dead 04 was great, Seeing the nieghborhood in chaos, fires, and news helocopters in the background. Then top it off with that Johnny Cash song, awesome.

DOTD 04' has great little details on intro...documentary mix with movie, then car crash on the road (after the crash the car goes to gas pump and we have nice explosion)

Best Opening: It has to be a tie between DOTD04 and 28 Weeks Later.

Best Ending: Return of the Living Dead 2

best opening... tied between the old and the new, dawn 04 for its creepyness and epicness and great use of a johnny cash song , or night of the living dead, the whole "their coming to get you barbra" line is so classic and creepy and really sets the tone for the entire movie.

best ending... again tied, for balls to the wall gorey goodness its gotta be the lawnmower scene at the end of dead alive, or the end of night 90, when she shoots cooper and says heres another one for the fire it was a serious WTF moment followed immediately by a oh hell yea that prick had it coming moment.

Theres a great arguement for best beginning/ending for NOTLD68 the cemetery scene to Ben getting shot, and thrown on the fire.

I believe the worst beginning in a zombie movie would have to be RE: Extinction.
I mean.

The Johhny Cash song never sounded so eerie as when there are clips of zoms attacking.

Ending: Either Day of the Dead '85, or Dawn '04.
Day - because of the way the zombies took out all of the military men, bub shoots rhodes (damn him!)
Dawn '04 - because they go out with a bang, and Down with the sickness plays!

loved the beginning of '28 weeks later'. i don't get scared watching movies but that scene almost had me crapping my pants. probably didn't help much that i was the only person in the cinema watching the movie.
'Day of the Dead' 85 probably had the best ending. lots of gore, people getting ripped to shreds, the almost western style stand off between bub and rhodes, plenty of zombie killing and the desperate and claustrophic feel of it all. great zombie makeup and zombie sounds too.

i'd put in worst start and ending but usually if they get either of these wrong the movie itself sucks and i never remember much about shitty movies. so i'll just say 'house of the dead' 1 and 2 and 'undead' all sucked from start to finish.

Yep, I'd give best beginning to Day of the Dead without a doubt.

Worst ending? Hmm... many of the really poor zombie films have long since faded from my memory but the reveal of the DJ at the end of Zombi 3 (Zombie Flesh Eaters 2) was just laugh out loud funny. And not in any good way.
