Do other zombie fans also like vampire and werewolf stories? I don't mean sparkly teenage romance vampires, but serious stories.

I don't really get into all forms of horror, like I don't like slasher movies. But I do like good vampire and werewolf films and even some that aren't all that good. Or psychological occult stuff can be good too.

How about you?

Never been a real big vampire movie fan, but the Underworld Trilogy is very well done in my opinion. And that new "Daybreakers" with Sam Neal looks promising :). Now as for werewolves...I LOVE EM! Haha my favs have to be "An American Werewolf in London" and "Dog Soldiers". Hopefully they'll finish making Dog Soldiers 2 =D.

Kinda. Zombie movies are on another level and chances are I'll like anything if there's a zombie in it or at least give it a chance, but I do like some vampire and werewolf movies.

I only saw the first underworld film and to be honest I'm not really a fan. I could never get into the Blade films either. But I do like films like, 'Interview With a Vampire' and 'The Lost Boys' is a classic.

As for werewolf films, 'An American Werewolf in London' and 'Dog Soldiers' are great films.

I know they're not films but tv shows but did used to watch Buffy semi-religiously, and am really getting into True Blood right now.

"Well, Buffy The vampire Slayer did start out as a Movie first." ;-)

"I love all strange critters, from Zombies to Vampire, through Werewolves, including Jekel and Hyde." :)

Vampire and werewolf movies will always have a place in my collection. :)

I agree, American Werewolf in London and Dog Soldiers are two of the best. Wolf with Jack Nicholson is another. It's getting hard to find new ground for werewolf stories though, everything has been done!

Sam Neil? I have to look into this one then. I loved him as Damian. That's another one, demon films. Now those haven't been done as much if you don't count the Japanese. A good demon film would be brilliant!

I wonder if tehy'll ever make a film of Memnoch the Devil?

I never got into Blade either. But I really liked Interview. Lost Boys too. It sounds like I have some kindred spirits here. :)

I am a little tired of the bored housewife school of vampire fiction that seems to be trendy right now, in which authors write about the same emotionally inaccessible character hiding behind a facade of toughness and sex appeal over and over and over again. Anita Blake and Sookie Stackhouse convey no wonder or terror at the worlds of darkness they encounter, and so I find myself bored as a reader.

In film, I loved Let the Right One In and 30 Days of Night for their originality. 30 Days was Night of the Living Dead with vampires, survival horror at its finest. Let the Right One In was a nice counterpoint to the Mormon necrophilia/pedophilia sparkling vampire nonsense that seems to be getting all the soccer moms and tweens wet.

Entertainment Weekly called 2010 "the year of the werewolf," so hopefully we will see something original and innovative from this weak genre.

I prefer non zombie horror. zombies was just what got me really into it. I cant stand the weak vampires. underworlds were cool even though they werent physicslly scary though.

I always thought that no one ever really caught Vampires and werewolves in the right sense on screen, somethings usually missing, but i still enjoyed the first Underworld, American Werewolf in London, Dog Soldiers, and Interview with a Vampire.
