friday the 13th - american horror at its titty floppin blood squirtin best.
Phantasm - just pure awesome, plus reggie banister is a BAMF.
Scream - reinvented the slasher and loved every second of all 3.
halloween - yes all of them, If I had to pick 1 i didnt like it would be resurection but even that had its momments.
I cant think of any more off the top of my head but I know there are many more and ill come back and post some more when I come up with em
im not gonna list any zombie franchises since this is the non zombie forum.
also im not so sure if terminator and planet of the apes counts as horror, I guess it depends how you look at it though.

Yeah, I thought the same thing... I wasn't sure where to start this thread for that reason. You're probably right but they are in the "thriller" catagory... And of the Dead stuff is horror and awesome so I had to mention it...:drinking:
I'm not gaga over the F13 and Halloween stuff. The first few of each series is the good stuff imo...the scream and phantasm stuff is good and I probably should watch them again...I haven't seen them in ages. :eat:

I'm gonna say the Final Destination films. There are other franchises i love such as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th & Puppet Master but those had the odd dodgy one in there but i totally love all 3 of the Final Destination films.

I'm working my way through the Friday the 13th films, i finally got to the infamously bad Jason Takes Manhattan. I have to say i agree with the majority but it did have it's moments like a cheesy rocker chick getting killed with her guitar. The other funny bits i liked were when Jason kicked these punks ghetto blaster & then warned them of by lifting his mask. but my fave was when he was looking at big ice hockey sign then turned to look at the camera, nicely done.

I personally like the Saw films the best. I am a huge fan, and I am waiting for VI to come out this October. :)

I would have to go with ...the Living Dead/...the Dead series of movies. Specifically, Night of the Living Dead and the direct sequels, plus the remakes, and the first 2 Return of the Living Dead parodies/offshoots. I always liked the Aliens movies, the Predator movies, I don't know if Terminator would be considered horror, maybe scifi/horror. Nightmare on Elm St was always a winner, too. The Evil Dead series is a classic. Child's Play, maybe.

Well after reading through this thread I gotta say some of these movies I don't really consider HORROR but whatever, who am I to judge
Alien
Friday the 13th
House of 1000 Corpses/Devil's Rejects
Romero's Dead Series (a couple of exceptions but as a franchise it's fueled a hobby for a long time)
Notable mention: John Carpenter's Vampires - not so much a horror movie, though it does have it's gore and tense moments. It's also not a franchise.
