Okay I'm sick of having to hunt down the latest issue of the Walking dead at my local comic shops. I would much prefer a subscription to the title to take the pain in the ass factor out of getting it. None of the comic shops in my area are willing to do a one title subscription agreement, most one between 10 to 15 titles for an in store subscription. Yes there are other comics I wouldn't mind reading but money is a factor and at about $2 a pop 15 titles balloons up pretty quick on a bunch of things I don't really want. Then add to this the last few issues coming out MONTHS late and the several wasted trips to the shops just to find out 'not yet'. All this came to a head Friday; I got wind that issue 12 was out so I decided to search all the shops after work. Well it was dark and Rainey and I ended up wrecking my car. : clap:
The aggravation with getting this one title is maddening. Do any of you have any suggestions on getting a home subscription to this?

Hi Jack, where do you live?
I visit a website for a local comic store (http://www.wizards-comics.com/thisweek.txt) that lets me know when TWD is coming out. It's November 16th as I write this, and issue #13 will be in stores this Wednesday, the 17th!

That site should save you from depressing trips to the store, assuming you get orders the same time I do here, in Canada.
You could also try buying them from Ebay. Many sellers post items before they get them, days in advance, and promise to ship them to you as soon as they get them. The shipping price could get you though, unless there's a seller nearer to your location. Again, maybe you can buy all your regular comics from one Ebay seller, and have the whole package sent once a month, this would reduce shipping costs. If you need more help with this, PM me.
Lastly, I could post some mp3s of me reading each issue as it comes out! (I can be very descriptive)
"Ok ok - so Rick, I think that's him, he has a hat right, and then he's looking and that other guy..."

We have atleast 5 stores in my area, they all get the series, but they all but one get at most 10 copies. This store will not offer single title subscriptions, you have to "rent" a "mailbox" and subscribe to 15 titles. Then each month they put the 15 titles in your "mailbox" until you come in and pay for them.
I can't think of 15 current comic series I'd want to read much less pay for. :x
SO unless I can find an online source for a subscription I'm stuck trying to grab up a copy before they all go every month or so.

15 titles for a sub-box!?!?!? that's unholy! It's usually 5 ongoing titles. You could always ask the magical comic man to order an extra one and just see if he could set it aside. My shop has a "hot title" hold box where you can ask for a single issue and they'll hold it for you. You could also just wait for the trades.

Nope tried that. I even offered to pay the stupid box fee but ONLY get that comic, then they could rent the stupid box out to some other poor shlub. :x
I've got a subscription, the guy who runs the local comic shop is a huge fan of the book. Even if the title loses popularity he'll get them in just for me, so that he can read them himself before I pick them up...
