Wow! I didn't expect a coensidence like this, but I do own that DVD set! It's 4 DVDs that consist of the theatrical version, extended version and European versions of the film, as well as hours of special features like the makeup FX, on location walkthroughs, a tour of the mall and even a commercial of the mall from the 70's! It also has TV spots, radio promos, poster galleries and movie commentaries from the director and cast. It's a great box set that I accidentally bought (all I wanted was a DVD of the movie, and I got 3 versions of it!), and it's worth every penny!

I'm goint to warn you though, the Europeon version has more Goblin music. The worst part about that is the music they play when the bikers raid the mall get's stuck in my head all the time:). Each version also has small bits and scenes and different dialog that aren't in the other versions, which is cool (or at least I thought so). I just wish one version cut out the pie scene.

I like the the scene where someone picks up the dress shirt and tie, and seconds later tosses it back on the shelf.

I already had that on VHS, the main reason i wanted it was for the European version which i liked but still prefer the original, i like the music better on the US version.
Question:
The US scenes when they are moving the trucks about has different music from the European version, are they both by The Goblins? which soundtrack cd is the US music on The Goblins soundtrack or the Dawn of the Dead: The Unreleased Incidental Music cd? any help would be appreciated

Goblin is amazing! They made some of the best soundtracks for films ever. But besides my love for Goblin, this dvd set is a must own for any true fan of the film.

They don't say. The Goblins cd has bonus tracks so maybe it has both.

I found info on the track i was asking about, it's called La Caccia & is on The Goblins soundtrack.
Track 7 was used three times in the American cut. First in the scene where the main characters move the trucks in front of the mall entrances, then when Roger is being pushed in the wagon by Peter after being bitten and finally in the scene where Roger drives the Volkswagen Scirocco through the aisles. In the European cut it was used in none of these scenes but rather earlier when Roger and Peter first broke into the mall and later when Stephen followed them. La Caccia is my favorite song from this album.
Since i'm in DOTD mode i will be picking up this cd soon.:)

I'm so glad they came out this with set. I love having all the different cuts.
I too have this Ultimate Edition set. And I think the chubby older guy who played the zombie on the elevator who talked in the interviews and tour scene of the mall died just last year if I recall correctly. I can't remember if he died from cancer or heart problems.
