Does anyone agree? I think Savini not being on Land (Except in a terrible Buffy like Vampire costume) and Diary hurt not so much the makeup but the spirit of the films. I think George had more fun making his films with Savini around. Listen to the commentaries they did together. I think they were like a couple of kids putting a cherry bomb in a moving plastic model Revell sherman tank. When he left, togather with other problems Land became a boring business project and here we are.
I don't think that it hurt Land of the Dead any cause the film did have some decent kills and gore in it and the zombie makeup did look good in it.

I think the success of Romero's zombie films was due to the combination of many talented people, a lot of whom worked behind the scenes. NOTLD was a fine film and did not feature Savini.

Maybe in spirit but definitely not the make up which was done by Greg Nicotero who was Tom's assistant on Day of the Dead.

I like Greg Nicotero's work alot too. I think that he, Savini, Rob Bottin, Rick Baker, and Stan Winston are the best all time makeup effects artists.
