Zombie Science Section

I think adding a new forum to the homepage would be great.

How about one about zombie science? ;-)
Where we could discuss all the scientific questions, and theories behind the zombies and their behavior.
I've been thinking about this for a long time. :drool:

Most of the science get posted in the Zombie Talk section, and I believe there are enough to have a new section with a lot of threads. :drinking:

However, creating a new forum takes planning and research into whether there is a need for it or not. We've had other forums in the past which were dropped due to lack of activity. I know of one other Zed forum on net which has been in business as long as we have, and uses the same vBulletin software as we do. I just visited their site to do a cross-comparison, and the main difference between our two forums is that they have twice as many forums, but do half the amount of business that we do (They have 35 Forums with 26 sub-forums while we have 16 forums with 1 sub-forum) I would also like to point out that only 8 out of their 35 forums were posted on in the last 24 hours. The problem with their site is that it's way too much visual input for any human being to process. Even if you were to enter a post on any particular topic, there's a pretty good chance no one will see it due to all the clutter. :loon:

Yeah, I did give your idea some thought and here's my 2 cents. :2cents:

I can't speak for Dead Kev (http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/member.php?u=1) but I think he will probably tell you what I'm gonna say. Even though you think there maybe enough threads in the Zombie Talk section to warrant the creation of a new forum, how active are these topics? You could probably find several dozen thread to transfer over into the new forum (there's about 2 years worth to muddle through in the Z-Talk forum), but how active will they be? You can only discuss the rage virus so much, and after that what's left to discuss? I wouldn't describe the Zombie Talk forum as exactly being overloaded with discussion as it is. It has a fair amount of activity, but it's not as if there are topics being pushed off the 1st couple of pages. If I was to recommend a change that might be needed that would be to give the Zombie Talk forum a fuller description than it already has.

"Can't find a forum that fits your zombie-related topic? Post it here!"

I think that could defintely use a touch up. :)
