I have John McCarty's Official Splatter Movie Guide Vol 1 & 2 which between them have reviews most horror films from 1963-1991. I am looking for a book that is similar but goes more up to date. Does any one know of one or that focuses more on movies from 1990 to present.

I was thinking of the same thing. I guess I will just have to look on amazon.com and see if I can find any horror books on the 1990's cause I already have the 1980's and 1970's books by John Kenneth Muir which are really good.....especially the 1980's one by him.

I don't know if you mean books from films or vice versa but they do have them. I saw on Amazon.com they had book for "Night of the Living Dead", "The Return of the Living Dead" (which John Russo calls the official sequel to NOTLD) and "Dawn of the Dead". There is an unofficial continuing story of "Dawn of the Dead" about Peter & Frannie. The book is called:
"Dead Reckoning Dawning of the Dead" by Anthony Giangregorio and is too available on Amazon too. The link: http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Reckoning-Dawning-Anthony-Giangregorio/dp/193545806X/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233103796&sr=1-3

The Description: "THE DEAD HAVE RISEN! In the dead city of Pittsburgh, two small enclaves struggle to survive, Seeking out an existence of hand to mouth. But instead of working together, both groups battle for the last remaining fuel and supplies of a city filled with the living dead. Six months after the initial outbreak, a lone helicopter arrives bearing two more survivors and a newborn baby. One enclave welcomes them, while the other schemes to steal their helicopter and escape the decaying city. With no police, fire, or social services existing, the two will battle for dominance in the steel city of the walking dead. But when the dust settles, the question is: will the remaining humans be the winners, or the losers? When the dead walk, the line between Heaven and Hell is so twisted and bent there is no line at all."

To my surprise, a lot of people like it. I know I won't because for me, the best character died; Roger DeMarco.

Just thought you might want to know. :)
