Well his dad was in a big orchestra and he learned music from his father and is a qualified composer himself and has his own band too in which he plays bass in with his buddies Nick Castle(who played the original Michael Myers in the 1978 film) and Tommy Lee Wallace( who directed Halloween 3).

I have a dvd which is about him and is about 1 hour and a half long with him talking and interviews with people who have worked for him.
