I hated this movie with a passion. I'm talking about the original early 70's film by Wes Craven called Last House on the Left. I bought the dvd of it a few years ago without knowing anything about the film and thought for the cover art on it that it was gonna be a slasher flick but it wasn't.

It was about 3 escaped prisoners who capture and continually 2 rape 2 teenage girls and then they kill them. Then they end up at one of the girl's parents house not knowing that it's their parents and end up getting killed themselves by the parents when they found out that their daughter was dead.

I think Wes Craven smoked alot of pot when he was making this film with Sean Cunningham. The only good thing that I liked about the film was the song The Road Leads to Nowhere by actor David Hess who played the lead convict Krug in it.

I hope the remake sure is alot better and gorier and have more kills in it and not be so lame like the original was to me.:x:puke:

The remake looks alright. I really don't know if I will see it or not. I hate how hollywood is just doing remakes now.

I'm pretty interested in the remake of this movie. I know that the original LHOTL was a well-known horror milestone, and with movies like Friday the Thirteenth and The Hills Have Eyes being remade (both were good IMO), it was apparent that this one would be made soon. I might watch both versions soon enough, but at the time I'm not so sure when.

I just watched this again the other day and it reminded me how bad so many of the drive-in movies I saw growing up were.

I've looked for a lot of the old movies and haven't been that impressed by many.

I saw this movie a long time ago. Then actually the other day my girlfriend brought it home to watch. She thought it was gonna be some slasher or haunted movie type thing. I told her it wasn't. Then we started watching it and she hated it. So do I. I probably won't waste my money on the remake.

Same here the 1st time I went to watch it. My girlfriend was too. She was hoping to get scared. It's not hard to scare her by the way. She turned it off when the people took the girls to the woods and made them make it with each other as they called it.

What I hated about the film was that the girls got raped in it. I'm a guy of course and love women and MILFs lol but I don't wanna see a girl get raped and I would beat the shit outta Krug and them in the film. Same with cannibal films like Cannibal Holocaust.....I hate animal torture and I don't wanna see a dog being beat down and cooked cause that's just wrong imho lol....know what I mean.

The rape stuff doesn't bother me cause it's not real, ever see I Spit on Your Grave. But the animal killing, there is no need.:puke:

I also liked this movie (3 out of 5 stars). Despite it being an old movie, I only saw it for the first time about a year ago. I saw it listed as one of the scariest movies (Top 100 list) and had to see it. It has a lot of scenes that are hard to watch, but I like the fact that the guys got what they deserved in the end!!!

I feel the same way about Cannibal Holocaust...a good movie, hard to watch in parts (especially knowing the animals were really killed), but a decent movie just the same.

Yeah, I can't really sit there and watch women get raped. Nor can I watch animals killed either. I love animals.

Zombreach, the Cannibal Holocaust movie really kills animals? What kind of movie is this?

zombie surfer, I saw I spit on your grave. I'm glad she killed them after what all they did to her.

Yeah but a least you know it's fake not like the animal killing. There is a thread on Cannibal Holocaust.

True it is fake and that is something to think about. Except for the movies that say based on actual events or something. I'm gonna go look at this Cannibal Holocaust.

Yeah, that was pretty hard to watch. A grown man getting plugged. A little nasty.

I believe there is a thread on Cannibal Holocaust if you want to check out reviews on it, but the movie basically goes like this: A man goes to find some missing students in the jungle and comes upon their camera and film instead. He takes it back home and watches the reels of the students as they search, find and degrade natives. It has a lot of gore--rape scenes, cannibalistic scenes, torture, and animal brutality. It is done in the style of The Blair Witch. It's hard to watch, but well done in a grainy sort of way. (It's made out to be like a documentary.)

I love the movie Deliverance--seen it many, many times! The piggy scene is hard for a lot of people. Men don't often get raped in movies. I actually find this scene a bit amusing..I think the "squeal like a piggy" comment is why. There was a movie where a male cop was raped inside a warehouse (sorry...can't remember the name of the movie) and the whole feeling was much more serious and tragic. That left a completely different feeling.

Or..maybe I'm just twisted!

Yeah that was pretty brutal but funny in an evil sort of way. Is Deliverance considered a horror film or just a thriller?

Then after Burt Reynolds kills the rednecks with his bow and arrow....Ned Beatty is pulling up his pants and says "let's just keep this between us guys okay"...lol.

Yeah, I mean I love Deliverance just as much as the next person. The thought of a grown man getting raped or as I call it Bro Rape. It's kind of weird. It was funny the squealing like a pig part. I don't think it's considered a horror, just a thriller or something like that. I don't think after I got raped I would be like "let's keep it between us." I'd probably hurdle myself of a cliff somewhere. That would be hard to deal with.

LOL, I would kill the son of bitches that did that to me if that occured to me but it would never cause I always pack a pistol on me when I go on trips and have some pocket knives on me so I would die fighting before that happened to me lol plus I'm a bb in TKD lol so I know some moves and kicks lol.:drinking:

I thouight the music in it was pretty cool throughout but there was some strange upbeat music at some really brutal parts.:loon:

RIP, If you mean it wasn't gory in the respect that you didn't actually seen the acts of violence, i think cause it was from a time where film makers just let you imagine what is happening in you own mind which can sometimes be worse, this is something that doesn't happen in most horror films these days.

I saw the remake in theaters opening weekend, it was alright, kind of dark. The acting was very decent, i didn't like that they casted that one guy from Breaking Bad, and i couldn't accept that a girl had been shot in the water, in the rain, and was in the water/rain for about 5 hours without getting hypothermia. Other than that, interesting watch, pretty good gore, and the rape scene was that overdone (thank god).
I want to see the original, from what you're all saying it's crap though, so i might want to with caution lol

Shut the **** up RIP. This is a great movie. The remake was cool, but this Craven flick was excellent. It's dirty, downbeat and nasty. One of the best exploitation flicks of its time.

Do you want to be cuddled up in fluffy clothes when you watch a movie?
