Hey folks, I know it's been forever since I posted but I just wanted to come on in and say that I've been given the opportunity of a life time and I will be interviewing Victor Miller, the screen writer of the Original "Friday the 13th" later this month for www.horrornews.net where I've started doing reviews.
I will be interviewing Mr.Miller in his home here in Alameda, Ca and I will be video taping the interview *because I don't have a tape recorder* and I thought I would stop by here and ask all you horror fans if you had any questions you would like answered by the man who created Jason f'ing Voorhees!
So drop some questions here in the thread and I'll stop by as often as I can to check them out.
I'm shooting for the interview to be either on Feb.19 (my 23rd birthday!) or the 20th.

"I have two, but you'll probably think they're stupid. Here goes anyway."
"Who really commited the first murders, Jason or his Mother?"
"Is there any creative connection between Jason's Hockey Mask and the cursed items, in the Antique Shop, in the TV Series Friday The 13th.?"
"Well thats my :2cents:" :)
"Enjoy the doing the interview!" :drinking:

"On behalf of a few other members, I'm adding a third Question....."
"Is Jason a Zombie, Ghost, Golem, Ghoul or What?"
Well Mrs. Voorhees was the original killer in part 1 so Jason didn't come out til the sequel as the killer.
I guess my question would be:
1. What happened to Steve Christie? In the film it shows him walk up to someone whose holding a flashlight and then that's it but my guess of course is that Mrs. Voorhees used her machete on him lol.
2. Why did Annie the cook have to die when she was an innocent girl lol? I know she was on her way to the camp but Mrs. Voorhees slit her throat in the woods. All she had to do was drop her off in another county lol and then head back to Camp Crystal Lake.
3. Which mask do you prefer better Mr Miller: the potato sack mask used in part 2 or the hockey mask?
4. Which film of the franchise is the worst to you: Jason takes Manhattan or F13 part 7?

"Another good question."
Hey thanks, wait until I get started...
Question: Are the Friday the 13th comics considered canon?
I just pulled out Pamela's Tale which is the story of Jason's birth and how they came to Crystal Lake.
Also, Badland, is the story of the "area" (Crystal Lake) itself and it's history...
I think I might have answered my own question... if the comics are canon that is...I have to reread them tonight...:drinking:
Here's a question:
Who was Jason's father?
"Luke, I'm your father" - Darth Vader:lol:

Here's a question:
Who was Jason's father?
That question is answered in Pamela's Tale...I have to read them again tonight...I'd really love to know if the comics are canon to the movies...that would answer so many questions...:drinking:
Here's another question for Victor Miller:
Has he ever read Simon Hawke's novelization of Friday the 13th and what was his thoughts on Hawke's novel?

Seriously guys, These are the best question you can come up with? I'm not trying to sound like a douchebag but these question for the most part suck.
I do like the question about who was Jason's father, but Joe just becuase it appeared in a comic means that it's cannon as far as the comics are concerned, but unless Miller wrote the comic, it's someone elses speculative idea.
And why do you guys keep throwing out questions that have to do with the rest of the series? He wrote the first film, thats it. He wasn't involved with any of the other films other than being credited with creating the characther.
So please, come up with questions that have something to do with the first film, becuase I'm not going to ask him a bunch of questions about why Jason did this in that movie or used a weed whacker instead of a chainsaw or whatever.
First Friday guys! Jesus Christ I was expecting better questions than this!

"I DID admit, that my first two question were most likely stupid ones. They're just things I've been curious about."
"But, since he DID create the Jason, of the first movie, I feel this one is still a legitimate, and valid, question." ;-)
"On behalf of a few other members, I'm adding a third Question....."
"Is Jason a Zombie, Ghost, Golem, Ghoul or What?"
"I'll see if I can think of some better ones. Are you looking for deep questions, or just basic storyline questions?"

but unless Miller wrote the comic, it's someone elses speculative idea.
This isn't always the case, it depends on who owns the rights to Friday the 13th. If the owners license it out for other writers to expand the story then the movie and the comics link up becoming cannon...
Like what they do with the Alien, Predator or Terminator licenses, what dark horse comics puts out becomes canon. Texas chainsaw massacre does this also with WS comics...great stuff. :) It would be cool if the Friday the 13th comics are part of the overall mythos.
First Friday guys! Jesus Christ I was expecting better questions than this!So if it's not in the first movie then he wouldn't have an answer, so he wouldn't know who Jason's father is/was as it wouldn't really matter to know...
I'll keep thinking of questions....:drinking:I should rewatch it I think...:eat:

I admit the question as to what the **** Jason is (zombie or otherwise) is a good question. and Yes I understand that if Paramount/New Line approved the story about who Jason's father was, thats all well and good, but what I'm saying is that I want to know from the man himself who created the little mongoloid looking bastard who's his daddy?
I'm looking for questions that pertain more to things that either happend in the first film or things of that nature. I'm already planning to ask him about what he thinks of the franchise and where it's gone over the years and such

So if it's not in the first movie then he wouldn't have an answer, so he wouldn't know who Jason's father is/was as it wouldn't really matter to know...
"Although, he might have had an idea of who HE considered Jason's Father, and just didn't write it down in the story outline."

"Here's a few to pick from then. No garentees any are good. If you see one you like, go for it. If not, I'll keep trying for you." :)
"Mr. Miller, from your own thoughts....."
"Why was Jason deformed?"
"Did he live at the lake?"
"Did Jason come back and kill, or was it his mother getting revenge."
"What inspired the idea of Jason?"
"Why did you use a summer camp setting?"
"Was Jason's Father still alive, and if so, why was he not there?"

This goes into the nature of the beast so to speak. We all know that it was Jason's mother as the killer but then the real surprise is at the end when "child" Jason pops out of the water. I know this isn't in the first movie but we next see him as an adult killer.
Did they have plans for sequels or was it more like the way the SAW series began with the "hey people like this lets exploit it and now we have to make a bunch of stuff up."

"Did Jason come back and kill, or was it his mother getting revenge."
"Maybe I should reword this one, so you understand what I'm really trying to find out..."
"Was it Jason's Mother acting out of revenge, or was it Jason's Mother possesed by Jason's angry Spirit?"

Sadly, a lot of the questions I had already come up with and some of the ones posted here, were already awnsered in the "His Name Was Jason: 30 years of Friday the 13th" dvd that came out earlier this month. If you haven't seen it yet and you're a fan, go get it. the main documentary is kinda cheesy in parts but the extras are where its at.
and I'll be doing one last sweep through here before thursday to pick out and possibly reword some questions

Hey guys! I had my interview yesterday, and I have to say that it was one of the greatest moments of my life. Mr. Miller was very welcoming and very open and honest with all his answers and Yes, some of your questions were answered, including “Who is Jason’s Father” “Was Mrs. Voorhees Insane or Possessed” and Joe, even though I didn’t see your question till just now, the question of Jason’s Mental Status is answered!
I’ll be typing up the interview in the next few days and posting it over on horrornews.net so when it goes up, I’ll post up the link.
Thank you so much guys for the questions, and I’m sorry for going off on you all a couple weeks ago.
