I just saw the classic 80s film Night of the Creeps for the 1st time & loved it, but there is some comparisons with the later Slither which i also loved. So what do you think. Slight rip off.:lol: I know there has been some past talk on this but not really a comparison.:)

I liked them both, but I liked Night of the Creeps better, I didnt think Slither was a rip off at all. I have the VHS copy of Night of the Creeps, I think it has never been released on DVD. Kind of a shame, its a great horror movie, I think younger horror fans would enjoy it.

I agree, I bought it from a site called Rezarected which do copys of films unavailable on dvd, check them out. www.rezarected.com

I have seen both movies, although I liked Slither better. I always thought Slither was a remake of Night of the Creeps with a few changes/additions...HMMM.

So, I looked up both movies, and it says that Slither was influenced by both The Thing and Night of the Creeps. All three are alien movies and the aliens do inhabit the host. In that they are similar, but Slither and Night of the Creeps are almost identical in my opinion.

I liked them both equally. I never have thought of slither as being a rip-off, maybe a homeage to Creeps.

I have both of these films on dvds and must say that Night of the Creeps is definitely the better of the 2 films. For one thing it has better cheesy characters in the 80's film and 2nd Tom Atkins is da mack daddy in it as the detective. He is funny as hell in his smart ass remarks to people when they ask him his name. I like the zombies in this film even though they don't bite people.

I love Night of the Creeps. Slither is okay, but creeps takes the cake for me.

Although the filmmakers won't admit, Slither is a remake. I mean just look at the two films, it is easy to see how it is a remake.

I enjoy both, but I think NotC is more fun, just for Tom Atkins alone. :evil:

I don't think it's a remake but i agree they have similarities but the general story & setting is different.

I like em both but I prefer Slither. Nathan Fillion is the man. Plus I think its funnier and of course has better FX.
