I have all of the TCM movies on dvds from the original through part 4 and the TCM remake and TCM: Beginning(prequel).

I would have to say that my fave mask of the whole series would be the original 1974 film and Gunnar Hansen playing Leatherface would be my fave actor playing the part.

The worst mask in the series to me is TCM 4 starring Matthew McConnaghey and Renee Zellwiger and the mask used in it was just terrible like the film itself was.

I'd say the original. I only have the 1st & 3rd, the 2nd is on my xmas list:) I read it was the most gory.:evil:

Be sure to get the Special Edition of TCM 2.

I think that part 3: Leatherface had more gore in it than part 2 but that's just my opinion. I liked the gore in the sequel to the remake called TCM: the Beginning which was quite good and showed how Leatherface came to be.

My favorite film in the series is the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre. My favorite Leatherface mask would probably be the one Tom Savini designed for TCM 2.

Watched Leatherface last night & loved it, some real good gore.:evil: I've held of watching this cause i haven't seen the 2nd but i read i my Splatter Guide that the 3rd acts a if the 2nd was never made.:loon: but it was a cool film.

The original is the absolute best. Bottom of the totem pole goes to the 00's remake. What's best about the original mask was that it actually looked like something strung together in brutal fashion by the hands of a killer.

The latter's downfall was that it looked all too professional in the 'horrifying' sense, and was nothing more than the creation of a Hollywood FX artist. Which of course, it was.

The original. It looks so not hollywood and looks authentic. It looks like someones real face.

I just watched this for the first time, the gore was brutal. I liked this a lot better than The Texas remake, i just didn't take to that film.:poo:

That's bc it had that one girl from 7th heaven on it, who no one can take seriously for a role like that, especially with her scream! Omg, it was horrible, and the Beginning wasn't THAT bad, but it's far from the original. I felt like it was more or less trying just to make me wanna throw up, more than explain things that were happening with the family, and the teenagers.
