Assuming you have a normal car and everything you need at home.Everything means you can have items you currently don have in your home but would want to take. example RPG

What would you take???
Also if you don have a car what would you wear and take??
List items you will bring in both situation

Well first, I'd have to decide between taking my car or just hoofing it. The mountains are only about 15 minutes away from my house. If I brought the car, I could certainly take a lot more gear, but I'd also run the risk of getting into a traffic jam of terrified people. So it would really depend on exactly what was happening and where the outbreak occurred. Either way I'd head toward the mountains.

As far as what I'd bring:

If I had items I currently don't have in my house, I'd pack up my tank with enough quick drying cement that I could recreate Minis Tirith, anti-zombie spray, and enough food and water to last 500 years. I'd also bring solar panels and electrical wiring so I can bring my home entertainment system with me.

If I had to use what I actually have available (sigh) I'd quickly gather the survival essentials. In all honesty, I'd be more worried about surviving Mother Nature then a few undead who may stumble upon me. I'd load my backpack up with matches, blankets, clothes, socks, extra shoes, paper towels, a flashlight, batteries and whatever food I happen to have. I'd throw my knife and compass in my pocket. I don't have a gun, but I do have a baseball bat, so that would be my anti-zombie weapon. Assuming I'm walking, that's about all I could bring. I might try loading a shovel onto my back (just because they are so damn handy, and would make a decent weapon too d:) but I'd have to feel the weight and see if it's really worth it.

Once I made it into the mountains, I'd start doing the basics. I'd look for viable shelter, a water source, and food. I'd probably spend a few weeks looking for a more permanent place to stay. Once winter began to approach, I'd start heading south to a warmer climate.

I can have anything?

Ok, my car is a double-decker bus converted into a two-story RV and modified for off-road travel (You failed to specify what this vehicle has to be normal in relation to.) For supplies I'll carry:

1. A vaccine for every disease, ever, including the zed virus.
2. A laser cannon, mounted on the roof of the car.
3. A free-energy device to power the car (and laser cannon)
4. A Duplicator Machine, which can duplicate all of my supplies infinitely
5. A laser rifle, for the precision work and hand-held firepower you don't get from laser cannons
6. The entire female cast of "The Hills."
7. A force field generator, to protect my awesome Death Bus RV from all forms of attack
8. A big screen television with every movie and tv show ever made recorded onto protein-coated disks. Oh, and surround sound! :-)
9. A laser pistol, just in case the rifle breaks.
10. Food, water, clothing, and a laser sword. Can't ever have too many lasers.

I would probably have a bigger problem with holding all my family into my car than supplies (hopefully they would be outside the outbreak zone with time to fend for themselves), but even with them inside I would bring:
*Any useful tools/ kitchen utensils that could be weapons
*My sword
*My skull knife
*As much food/liquids that can be placed in a cardboard box
*My cell phone
*My MP3 Player and CD booklet (without them I would probably go mad)
*My PS2 memory card (I put more effort into that than anything else)
*Medical supples
*Any camping equipment around the house
*and batteries for everything to run properly

Anything else I could find/keep in stock of can easily be found in the stores that haven't been looted yet.

You can have anything realistic not lightsabers or laser rifles and your load is limited by the car an average 4 person sitter car

well i mean, everyone talks about the clasic " more important its your family" but lets be realistic with me its not like that, im a little too much paranoic spychopath, so actually if my family gets killed i would go on like nothin, at least for a while. well first on me would be find a car cause my dad cars its shit, and zombies would like destroy it like butter.

so actually i would take:

guns and guns as much as i can *theres a store of guns on the crossing my house street*

i would get my knife, i cant forget that.

and if i find food well pff i would take it with me.

but most important its water.

Anything I want in car? Well I'll mix what I actually have with what I want.
-My Revolver
-My Knife Collection
-My Machete Collection (f*ck my sword collection, they're all fake)
-A few books
-A silenced MP5 with laser scope
-A silenced AK with laser scope
-Enough ammo to fill my trunk
-My rainy day food supply (includes metric ass load of water)
-Earplugs, safety goggles, and work gloves
-And of course my iPod

Ok. Then I'd take everything with me that I own, except for my bed, dresser, and tv stand. I'm pretty sure that barring that, I could fit it in a 4 door sedan considering i'm in the process of moving right now and most of it'll go in my 2 door celica...

No, I don't own a lot of things.

Amen to that. I just moved everything I own, except for my bed, into my fiance's place. My Corsica was plenty of space for all of it. I have a feeling that packing up after a zombie outbreak would be pretty easy for me also.

I have most of the things I would take with me in my car already. I would wear regular clothes and my tac vest with my gear on it and leg holster for ease of movement. I would need to pick-up a wonder-bar because they're awesome and the one I had disappeared. >_>

For those of you that don't know what a wonder-bar is heres a pic i found...

.45 handgun
.223 rifle w/ scope
black powder rifle + acootremnts or however you spell that.
like 30 lbs of ammo
sleeping bag
M.R.E's
as much water as I can possibly carry

and toss it all into my backpacking pack.

my backpack is fu**ing huge.

- A digital camera can be helpful in assisting you to remember visited areas, document your journey, take photos of illegal activity, etc. Also, if one has a telephoto lens, it can also be used to view faraway objects.

- I just wanted to bring the laptop. No real reason.

- I find glasses cumbersome. Contacts can't get knocked off my face or bounce around when I'm running.

With the back seats folded down, I'm fairly certain I can fit all of this stuff in my car. I also have a roof rack.

I'd bring a laptop for mapping purposes. There are plenty of programs out there for travelers and truckers to help find the quickest route and stuff like that. These tools can easily be modified for raiding purposes and mapping where you've been and where you want to go.

I'd grab My shotgun, All the ammo for it throw it in my northface pack, My .22 and the loads of 500 round bricks I have, and my Mosin Nagant 91/30, then I'd grab our generator, our dehumidifier for renewable water supply. my tent, and some tidbits of food I suppose, mostly canned stuff... I have a Mercury Sable so it's a pretty big car. although Im not sure id need to really go anywhere... I live in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fields. I could make a pretty good stand here.

You would.. because you're not crazy. Haven't you ever seen news footage of some idiot in the middle of a flood or something walking down the street with a tv?

I'm just saying that certain things make you a bigger target than you need to be. You can't argue with that, and if you think I'm wrong and wanna pack things you won't need that lots of crazy people might still want, then good luck with the whole dying and coming back to life thing.

Well Id have my Ford F150 which can fit 6 plus its a long bed. Ill put what i have now that i can bring with me.
Family of course
My best bud
My Dads 12 gauge 3 shot shotgun with shells(7)
My .37 caliber deer hunting rifle with its 8x scope (50 shells)
My Dads .357 Ruger revolver (50 rounds)
quick reload clips (for ruger)
Baseball Bat
Shovel
Knife set
Axe
6 1x4 wood rods
Pans
3 cases bottled water, water jugs, containers
All can food (like 250 dif things)
Energy bars
Mp3
Stereo
Flashlights
Batteries
Extra gallons of gas
matches
lighters
med kit(2)
all medicine in Med Cabnet

Now as for extra ammunition theres a Sports Authority not even 2 minutes from my house with a tremondous amount of guns ranging from pistols to semi automatic rifles. Also there are energy jells and filling food for workouts that i could grab(hold off hunger)

Then i would go next door to the Barnes and Nobles grabbing as many books and board games that i could. Hey we need entertainment:)

Then id drive from the stores to the lowes by the highway where i could pick up wood and metal bars for barring and reinforcing windows/doors on truck plus add guard rails on the bed.

After this was taken care of i would head straight for highway 101 which is really really long but out in the middle of nowhere with only a few mountain towns along the way. Id follow the highway till i reached the Sierras where we could make base camp at Lake Tahoe or some other Mountain town where wed be safe.

something to add this is just my logical/fantasy plan cause you never know what the zombies will be like. They might be able to fly or spit poison. You never really know, i mean we only have an idea from movies. What if the zombies have different weaknesses?

I think that's irrelevant, looters aren't picky and would try to jump you regardless of what you seem to be carrying.

Why the AK47/AKM ammo?

Why the AK47/AKM ammo?

That's about how much I have right now for my 7.62mm AR15. It's not that great of a gun. Around 500 rounds put through it right now, and it's highly unreliable. I get FTF's or FTE's about every other round. I'm thinking it was the magazines. But I've also noticed that the bolt carrier group doesn't shoot all the way back before returning to battery so it may be a problem with the gas system. More of a liability than anything. I just purchased some new mags for it, cranked the gas key down tight, and installed a lighter buffer spring, but haven't taken it to the range again, so we'll see how it goes. If you're in the market for a 7.62 upper from Model1 avoid at all costs!

It's a Model1 brand CAR 7.62 upper. Usually, I don't buy third tier manufacturer stuff, but I found it for the cheap on arfcom E&E and decided I'd try it out. Big mistake!

With a car

I have an Oldmobile and let's assume my family is Z'd up already.

Here's a problem with looting cars. In a place you dont know where anything is, you can almost GUARANTEE you will not find the car keys. So I'd be stuck with my Oldsmobile

I would rip the front seat out. IMMEDIATELY. I mean FAST. no lolly gaggin.

My sword , pillow, and blanket and IPOD. Also Picture album *will keep me sain for later days to come, and many books.
I'd hit up Wal Mart and LOAD a cart with food. Run back in and load it with some more.

food as in WATER, BREADS, and CANNED FOOD, and as many snack cakes as possible

THEN I take A HD TV and a PS3.

ATLEAST 100 gallons of the most expensive gas at a local GAS STATION (Im sure where my front seat was I could fit 100 gallons of Gas) It would take awhile to pump.

But hey with a sword,
patience,

the slow moving zombies wouldnt stand a chance.

I doubt if you would make it out of wallmart, whilst you're shopping in wallmart someone is stealing the things in your car. 100 gallons of gas! "It would take a while to pump" lol, yeah thats putting it mildly, the folks behind you better be real patient. I think you forgot your generator to power your tv & ps3 when the power goes out.

I'd load up my Cheerokee.

First thing is my Mossberg, and all my ammo, (about two boxes of shells right now. Normally I have more, but I was just shooting on Saturday). Sadly, the Enfield .303 is at my folks' house...

My Buck knife is always in my Jeep. I'd get the machete out of the kitchen. Next is all the canned stuff, (I live in Florida...we always horde canned food).

Lots of socks. An extra pair of boots. My Maglite with spare batteries. If my roomate has been chowed down upon, his Remington 870, his Mosin-Nagant carbine, his .22, his .380, and all his ammo, (not much left. He went with me on Saturday).

My cowboy hat of course, (Florida sun can be brutal). Extra clothes and my duster. All the toilet paper in the house. Toothbrush, toothpaste. Throw the bicycle on top of the roof.

Coffee. Lots of coffee. And the campfire percolater, (bought it before Hurricane Frances hit in '04. It would have been brilliant since we lost power for a couple of days, except I got stuck at work...).

My cat. I couldn't leave her behind, and she likes being in her carrier.

Loads of salt. Never know if you have to cure meat. The binoculars.

Finally, hit up the liquor store down the road from me. Get all the booze I can handle. Cheers!

Working in new home construction, EVERYTHING, thats why we call it a wonder bar. But to be honest I wouldnt think it would be a very good zombie killer. A framing hammer would be more useful.
