Anybody read FIRE by Alan Rodgers?

I bought a end-of-the-world type book a while back called FIRE by Alan Rodgers and I just noticed part of the back cover blurb says "THE SCIENTIST: He accidentally discovered the cure for death, but for the newly risen it's not a blessing, only eternal damnation..."

Has anyone here read this? Is it a zombie book?
