You might want to be sitting down for this one, True Believers...Okay, you ready?

This morning Marvel Studios announced four new films slated for 2010 and 2011, including two Avengers-related movies!

With Iron man's cinematic debut currently blasting through box offices throughout the country, fans can expect a second film to hit theaters on April 30, 2010! And a few months later in July, the mighty Thor himself will wield his enchanted hammer across the big screen courtesy of director Matthew Vaughn!

Pumped yet? You should be—and you haven't heard the best part! The summer of 2011 will kick off in style with a Captain America movie, followed just two short months later with the July-debuting Avengers!

Want the very first looks at how the Marvel movie universe is already tying together? Be sure you stick to your seats until the very end of "Iron Man"—yes, all the way through the credits! There's an extra special, extra exciting, extra scene guaranteed to thrill!

Plus, as first revealed at New York Comic-Con 2008, catch Robert Downey, Jr.'s cameo as Tony Stark in "The Incredible Hulk," smashing into theaters on June 13!

That noise you hear in the background is the sound of Marvelites the world over rejoicing, True Believer! So get ready, because these next few years are going to be one heck of a good time!

What great news! Four more comic book movies in the making. Of course there is going to be an Iron Man 2, but now they are going to make a Avengers, Thor, and Captain America movie also.

All good actor/actresses are going to want to play rolls in these movies with all of the recent success they have been bringing in. And since Marvel has there own studios now I am not worried at all with the quality of these movies.

If you were to tell me 5 years ago that there was going to be a Avengers live-action movie. I would have been worried that whoever was making it wouldn't be able to deliver a quality movie. Now I can say with confidence that these movies will most likely be some of the best action movies in decades.

At this point I wouldn't even be shocked at the announcement of Marvel Zombies.

All in all, this is going to be a great next 3 or 4 years of quality comic book movies.

The thought of an Avengers movie is really getting me geeked up. I've been hoping for many, many years that I'd see a live action version of my favorite childhood superhero group...and to think it could be close to a reality...OH...I think I just :poo: my pants.

The group took a million different forms over the years. My choices:

Hawkeye
Capt. America
Thor
Vision
Iron Man
Ant-Man
the Wasp

That's probably too many characters to cram in...but I hated leaving out the Scarlet Witch as it is...

my guess would be its going to be Iron man, wolveriene, the hulk, thor, cap america, why these picks? because they all have movies coming out between now and then and they can wrangle the apropriate actors to play the parts.

I would love to see hawkeye in there, but then again as long as iron man is present ill be happy, he has long been my favorite super hero ever since I was about 7 or 8, I always got some sort of twisted pleasure when everyone would profess thier fav super hero has the X-men or super man and I would say iron man, and they would reply with a who is he or why him and Id get the joy of explaining to them why I loved iron man and tony stark ,

the first iron man movie was great, the second im sure will be even better, the avengers will be pure orgasmic enlightenment.

my big question, who should be the bad guy / bad guys in an avengers movie? soooooo many to pick from.

According to this article on Super Hero Hype (http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=7165), Thor will be introduced in Iron Man 2.

Remember, we've also got a new Punisher flick (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450314/) out in December and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458525/) next summer.

It remains to be seen whether or not Sam Raimi or anyone else involved in the first three will be back, but Spider-Man 4 is also in development.

It wouldn't surprise if they introduced a new character or two for the Avengers Movie. Ant-Man and the Wasp would be sweet additions to the big screen or Scarlet Witch and Quicksliver. But my number one pick would have to for Dr. Strange.

My ideal line up:

Iron Man
Dr. Strange
Captain America
Ant-Man
Wasp
Thor

Hopefully the Punisher sequel will be good. I don't have high hopes, but it has a lot of potential to be a great movie.

Edgar Wright or Simon Pegg? That is great news. Do you have a link?

Edgar Wright is doing Ant Man. I did a search on Superhero Hype for Edgar Wright and this is the results page (http://www.superherohype.com/search.php?cravebar_partners=&search=edgar+wright). Links four, six, eight, and twelve deal with him making it.

Thanks for the links.

I also saw that there is going to be a Nick Fury movie. I wonder if Samuel L. Jackson will be playing the role?

I would love to see the Avengers. Vision and Wanda (Scarlet Witch) would be awesome--but, who to play her......

As villians, you could have them go against the Defenders (Hulk, Submariner, etc.) Might be cool.

What about "Marvel Team-ups"? That might be good. I still have my favorite stored away somewhere--Spidey and Ironman. Circa 197?

it seems like they are using the Ultimate Universe as the canon for the films. So Vision and Wanda might not be in it an if they are using ultimate story lines well Wanda had that thing with erm Pietro...erm yeah

At this point, the only Marvel movie I could expect to turn out well would be Marvel Zombies. Even that would be a gamble, seeing as the only successful Marvel adaptations were Iron Man and Spiderman. The Hulk sucked so badly that they probably made the new movie in hopes it would overwrite peoples memories of the first one.

What? No fourth remake of The Punisher or third remake of The Hulk? LOL.

Doctor Strange, Ironfist, and Spider-Man 4 have my interest.

They did not mention any Avengers film? I thought that was in the works.

Yeah they have mentioned the Avengers movie. I was just updating the new movies that have been announced to be made. They mentioned the Avengers, Captain America, Thor, and Wolverine movie shortly after the release of Iron Man (which in my opinion was better than the Dark Knight).

There was a Captain America made in the 90s before effort was put into Marvel movies. I've been waiting for a new one for quite a while.

Sin City 2. COOL!!! I utterly loved the first one. Hoping the second is just as good.

Avengers could be interesting. I'd love to see the Hulk included in that one.

Be sure to send me a photo if you do.

I'm not that big of a comic book nerd (except Mangas, but that's different), but a few of these titles did catch my interest. I'm suprised that there's going to be sequels to Daredevil and Ghost Rider, and not in a good way. However, I guess all these comic book movies will dry up soon. The only one I'm planning to see in theaters is Kick Ass.
