Ghost meter from Ghost Hunters

For those of you who watch sci fi channel, has anyone actually downloaded the ghost meter for their cell phone and if so, was it a fun or crappy program?

i guess if you like to watch these guys do the same thing week after week and run squealing if they feel the wind blow.........have at, but that wasn't mud by any stretch

I still want to know what the device in question is.

as for them. I too find it odd they always wimp out and run. their "job" is to hunt ghosts yet when they get "chances" they run off.

I dunno.....I think that ghosts are pretty spooky and I would get scared very easily as well.

If you look on either the sci fi channel's page, there is a link to ghost hunters and to the mobile phone program that you can text to and download and supposedly your phone will let you know if a ghost is around

I can't seem to find it online but I'm having a hard time imagining how a mobile phone program could purport do that. Perhaps it works on electromagnetic interference, like when you sit your phone next to a TV and you hear the interference through the speaker, but I don't see how it works on the phone itself or why a phone would contain senors or equipment that just happens to detect ghosts. This also makes the huge assumption that not only do ghosts exist but they are detectable as electromagnetic phenomena.

My opinion: it's probably a gimmick that makes your phone go crazy at random to drum up some cheap scares among teenage kids.

Oops! Big mistake!

The "Ghost Detector" isn't from Ghost Hunters, but from TLC's "Most Haunted" show. Sorry, I keep getting Ghost Hunters, Most Haunted, Paranormal State, and World's Scarriest Places all mixed up.

i saw part of "scariest places" last night. One of the "investigators" was walking through a site in Transylvania and had a shitfit because she saw a rat. seriously, a rat. i was sooooo disgusted, she was in such a interesting and historic place, on somebody else's dime and she was whining about a rat.

That's when i changed the channel.
