Thanks Erik! I haven't seen it yet but I agree 100%. Knowing the soundtrack by heart and just seeing the pic's from the production, I know it will be incredible. Something all Evil Dead fans should have the opportunity to see.

The musical actually incorporates all three films into one production. The soundtrack is awesome, absolutely hilarious!!! All the voices sound like the original actors as well.

It does have elements of all three movies but doesn't cover them completely. Just kinda touches certain bases.

I've been hearing from a few of the myspace friends that it's playing in Martinez CA at the Campbell Theatre starting this Friday, June 13th but I haven't found anything official, just word of mouth.

I just looked into it, and wikipedia and another site are saying that it is, indeed, gonna be in california....but there's nothing on their official site, or their facebook group, so i dunno

that would be really cool if they really are spreading the show to different areas

It's not a movie, but it's based on the all-time original classics. Evil Dead: the Musical is continuing it's long run in Toronto, has recently opened in Korea, and is now playing at the Campbell Theatre in Martinez, CA through July 26th.

I saw the production in Martinez last weekend and had a blast. Sat in the "Splatter Zone" and got covered in fake blood. There were a bunch of fans of the movie in the audience reciting all the classic lines. THIS IS MY BOOMSTICK!! Give Me Some Sugar Baby.

The theatre is a Cabaret space with full bar service, be sure to try the "What the F*&k was That" or the "Evil Tang".

Producer Don Carmody is in negotiations with Sam Raimi to adapt stage play "Evil Dead: the Musical" into a 3D movie reports Screen Daily.

Conceived by George Reinblatt, Christopher Bond, Frank Cipolla and Melissa Morris, the camp stage interpretation of Raimi's cult classic horror trilogy was originally mounted in Toronto and Montreal and has since gone off-Broadway.

Bond and choreographer Hinton Battle will co-direct the 3D film version which they hope to shoot in Toronto next Spring with some of the original cast.

At the moment however serious rights issues still need to be resolved. - Dark Horizons

This petition needs to go on, if only to spread around awareness. I doubt a petition can directly bring a US tour but it and the Myspace thing can certainly open more people's eyes.

I'm a huge ED fan and I was a little skeptical. Then I heard some of the songs, and finally caved and downloaded a taped version.

THIS MUSICAL IS THE GREAT THING EVER.

It NEEDS to go on. I think most people are like me, skeptical/apathetic . . You know, "Evil Dead: The Musical. Heh, sounds like it could be cool. Oh look, its raining outside."

I want to get involved. I work in an office 8 hours a day, goofing off in between doing work . . Seriously I surf the net A LOT. I could spend a LOT of time getting the word out. DentFoster, let me know if I can do anything, if you're feeling burnt out. I would love to get involved.

Anyone who loves Evil Dead or Rocky Horror, or those lucky enough (like me) to really really love both, NEEDS the chance to experience this. Hell, *I* need the chance to experience this, and I can't fly to Cleveland, Calgary, or South Korea!

Damn snobby New Yorkers ruined this. It shouldn't have been there anyway. Evil Dead shouldn't just be OFF-BROADWAY its ANTI-BROADWAY. A US TOUR similar to what you see with "The Wedding Singer" is more fitting, IMO.

I recently heard back from George Reinblatt (EDTM writer) and he told me that there are still no plans for a US tour but that he would love to see one. Right now they are licensing the rights to theater groups in the US to perform the musical.

Also there have been rumors about a lawsuit keeping them from doing a US tour, this is false.

It also turns out that the Evil Dead The Musical 3D Movie was nothing more than an internet rumor that spun completely out of control.

As far as the petition is concerned, I'm just letting it coast along right now, but any help in directing fans to it or the myspace site would be greatly appreciated.

I was blessed with the opportunity to play Ash in the Indianapolis, IN production of "Evil Dead: The Musical" last October, and it was probably the greatest stage experience in my entire life. So much fun, gore, and excitement...plus, I got a message from THE MAN himself, Mr. Bruce Campbell, after I wrote him an e-mail to tell him that I was playing "his" role on stage and how much his career and his movies have meant to me. I know there is no "national" tour, but if your local community theaters decide to put this show on, I highly encourage you to go see it!

Heheheh, I thought this was a petition against Evil Dead: The Musical. My curiosity was piqued recently, as it's showing here in the Kansas City area, so I checked out some clips on YouTube.. and it looks truly ****ing awful. The music is generic musical-play crap. It's goofy-silly, teetering on the edge of blatant stupidity.

I much prefer this other zombie play, Maul of the Dead, which I saw on Hallowe'en last year. At the very, very least, the music is better.
