Thought we had a thread but couldnt find it.

Jeepers Creepers 3 is finally ago after a shitload of rumors floating around for over a year.

I thought the first two films were fun, nothing groundbreaking but they were entertaining movies. Ray Wise is set to be in this and that guy kicks some ass. Most likley will catch it on dvd though.

from arrow in the head:
We heard there was a JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 moving forward last November (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=9978), but news hasn't been very forthcoming since then. Well now that's changed. At the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors convention in Chicago, Ray Wise, who starred in the second installment, had this to say: “Now that the strike is over, we can finally get rolling on the new JEEPERS CREEPERS... Victor has written a big part for me in it.”
Add to that this, from Victor Salva: “I have indeed signed to write and direct a third JEEPERS film this year. It’s tentatively titled JEEPERS CREEPERS 3: THE CREEPER WALKS AMONG US. It includes a prologue in the Old West and might bring back several characters from the first two films 20 years later. The script and story will be big on scares and give us plenty more of the traditional Creeper creepiness, with a few more bits thrown in about what it might be and where it came from.”
Ah the age-old "origin" story - horror's most reliable fallback. But will this hit the big screen? More from Salva: “The larger question right now is whether the film will get a shot at the big screen. MGM initially suggested that we go direct to video with the third in the trilogy, but we hope that the exciting entity that the new MGM is becoming realizes that both JEEPERS CREEPERS films set [then-] records for their Labor Day weekend box-office openings, before each went on to make over $100 million apiece on DVD. I believe a theatrical release is critical to this kind of success on video. I don’t think you can have one without the other, and it would be a shame not to be able to see what I have planned for JEEPERS III up on the big screen.”

news from arrow in the head

What the f*ck is this? We already knew that Victor Salva (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=11961#) was prepping a third JEEPERS CREEPERS (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/reviews.php?id=519) movie, horribly titled THE CREEPER WALKS AMONG US. But now Bloody Disgusting's reporting that Salva is prepping not one but TWO JEEPERS flicks for MGM (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=11961#), meant to be shot back-to-back.
I had no idea there was such a demand for more of The Creeper's exploits, but we keep learning time and time again how popular the direct-to-DVD market has become, so I guess these movies will guarantee at least SOME money (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=11961#)... I'm not very psyched because I wasn't blown away by either of the JC entries, but would I watch these new ones on cable at 2:30 in the morning? I would. I would...

I say lammmeee.. i smell a rave to the grave:puke:

except Back to the future 2 & 3, but the titles of the movie MUST have the word "back" in them for success.

Yeah, I agree. The first one was really good. I'm interested in a third movie.

Update (from arrow in the head):

First of all, we’re told that the film’s opening will “include a prologue in the Old West where we see how the Creeper became a frightening part of cowboy and Native American (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=12914#) folklore.” Nice! Perhaps we’ll see how old Mr. Creeper got his cowboy-esque hat (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=12914#)! Now, let’s move on.

After the opening flashback, CREEPERS III picks up exactly where part II ended. I find that a fantastic idea and the most perfect (and easiest) way to continue the series. Observe some more of Salva’s plot points:

“I will say,” Salva reveals, “that one aspect of the third film features Trish Jenner (again played by Gina Philips (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=12914#), below, from part I), who, 23 years later, has a teenage son of her own, named Darry after her long lost brother. Trish is having a terrible recurring dream where her son meets the same terrible fate as her brother. Now a rich and powerful woman, Trish is determined to stop the Creeper once and for all.”

Can't wait to see this! I love the Creeper and thought both of the first two were pretty solid. And I love Ray Wise!

I'm excited for it. The first two were great fun, the first was better, imo.
