Well, my friends keep telling me to "SHUT UP" about those damn zombies, LOL. Seriously, my friends and I love zombie films.

I'm now 40. I was born in 1967, the year before Romero released Night of the Living Dead. When I was six, in 1973, my three older brothers (the oldest was 12) snuck me into a naval base Navy Exchange movie theater where we lived. We were Navy brats and the theater was not well-watched during the day even though the movies were running. We snuck in on the ticket attendant's smoke break, LOL.

The movie that we saw was The Crazies (1973). It warped my little mind. In 1978, at age eleven, my brothers (now the oldest was 17) took me to see Dawn of the Dead. Again, that affected me deeply. From that point on all I wanted to do was make movies. But, I was side-tracked out of high school and seemingly abandoned my dream.

Recently, in 2000, I returned to college and graduated with a bachelors degree in English Creative Writing with a minor in Film and Video that focused on screenwriting. Now, I am studying for my masters degree. Now that I have the knowledge and tools that I need, I plan to write many screenplays. The top stories on my list are zombie stories.

Well, that's enough for now...

I just wanted to say, "HELLO!"

Thank you, bad zombie night :drinking:

I have to say that I love what you guys have done with these forums.

I have just barely begun to explore, and I love what I see.

I am going to look into that zombie RP site. Back in the 1980s, my friends and I played a lot of RPG games; table-top games, face-to-face with dice and character sheets. I still have a lot of that old stuff. We played D&D, Arduin Grimore, Call of Cthulhu, and Champions.

One late, late Friday night, my pals and I decided we needed more. We had gone to the Late Show movies back in 1982 when they still ran them in the style of a Grindhouse. By that, I mean that they showed old horror films from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as a ton of other great films we never get to see in theaters anymore: Escape From NY, Mad Max, The Crazies, Videodrone, and a whole host of Ralph Bakshi films (loved them).

Anyway, that particular Friday night we went and saw Dawn of the Dead. The movie ended after 126 minutes and we were all jacked up. We got home at 2AM and went right to work adapting whatever we could from any given RPG in order to create our own zombie RPG. It just had to be done!

That next weekend we went and saw Dawn of the Dead again, and then again and again that whole summer in 1982. And, afterwards, we would go to where my oldest brother worked; he was then 21. He worked at a place called HD Oliver Funeral Apartments. He was the night security and the recieving agent for dead bodies fresh from the morgue.

The funeral home (aka apartments as they called it) had a main building with a side wing for the night security. The side wing had it's own parking and entranceway, so we did not have to go in the main way (which was always locked up). A special bell would be rang from the main entrance to get the security to open up. Behind the main building was a huge graveyard. The whole scene was classic for a zombie outbreak, LOL. So, we played our zombie RPG in the conference room of the security offices.

Ah, those were the days. Now, stuff like that is just hard to do. I mean hanging out at a funeral home at night. We used to take spooky walks in the graveyard during our breaks from our all-night RPG sessions Fridays and Saturdays (it drove our parents crazy, but at least they knew where we were and my oldest brother was extremely responsible and armed with a revolver for security).

Yep, that sure brings back some memories... The Zombie RPG site is always looking to recruit new members... I'm sure they love to sign you up! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/Characters/1bnz_smiley.gif

It's from Return of the Living Dead. The one redeeming value of ROTLD had to be that it was a pretty funny movie. Shuan of the Dead was much funnier than ROTLD, IMO. Shuan RULZ! But, that "Send more cops" scene was just way too funny. I guess that if your zombies are going to talk, then have them say something funny. LOL.

Yes Welcome to ATZ

Love you thread title and remeber the Zombie Cop asking for back up from ROTLD. Boy I'd hate to be a Police Dispatcher when Z-day goes down.

Dispatcher="What do you mean send more cops? I already got the whole department out there now!"
