They have banned horror in visual or audio forms. In an effort to clense and clean up the countries image in the eyes of the world for the upcoming olympics.
if they wanted to do that they should treat animals better and stop shooting people trying to leave the country.

it doesnt make them look any cleaner, it just makes them look like a bunch of crackpots, though it always is interesting to hear about scheemes like this cooked up by other cultures.

Hmm you think that the selling of executed prisoners organs would make ones country look more backwards than a few horror flicks.

Ahahahah i think the best part is steven spielberg quit on them, maybe it was to much for him to handle. I bet he pinned it on there evil ways in darfur ( i believe thats what it was ).
Plus it doesnt matter about the execution trucks or anything among those lines, atleast they are trying to conceal them now that teh olympics are there, it could mean less executions. Hell i mean less is better then what they are doing right?

One wonders how they can ban "horror". I mean, how do you define it enough from other genres to do that. One also wonders how movies produced mostly outside of China can give China a bad name.

It's stupid that they banned horror in China, but it's not all that different from banning their internet chatrooms and their version of American Idol (I think it's called 'My Show' or something). Maybe they're secretly doing all of this, just to get people out of their country and lower their overpopulated areas.
