so here I am again banging my head agaisnt the wall in a vain attempt to help my mother get her computers back on line, I have no idea wth could be wrong, but here goes.

there 4 computers all hooked up on the same cable internet via a router, last night all 4 worked great and got online no problem, come this morning, 2 of the computers can still get online no problem, 2 of them can not get online.

we thought maybe it was the router ports and exchanged all the wires from the ones that didnt work, with the ones that did, the same 2 computers still got online and the other 2 were still offline even though we changed the ports, so it cant be that.

I hooked one of the computers that can get online directly to the cable modem and it got online, I hooked one of the computers that wont get online to the cable modem and it wont get online.

heres the odd bit, when I go into network connections and look at the internet connection on the 2 comps that cant get online it says both are connected at 100 mpbs and sending and recieving information normaly.

I tried to ping the router from both PCs that wont get online and it sent 4 and recieved 4 and lost zero so the ping worked beautifuly... now all conventional logic says these computers should work online no problem, but whenver you load IE or pogo or the online weather or anything internet related it wont work.

the odds of it being something wrong with the PC its self or the cables when the exact same thing happend to 2 difrent PCs at the exact same time is too hard to swallow IMO.

this is driving me wonky, if anyone has any ideas, or sugestions to try out let me know, the sooner I can get this fixed the sooner I can go back to not having my phone ring off the hook :x
