I thought there was a thread so if there is

its been in talks since the first x-files (that wasnt that good) came out in the 90's. It just got the go about 6 months ago or something

Mulder and Skully are back wiht some new people. That rapper xzibit (spelling?) and amanda peet play new agents. The agents that filled in during the last few seasons will not have a part in this one, only if the movie does well will they be in the 3rd.

The flicks been shooting for a couple months now. No word on the plot but theres a pic of the monster on set talking with director chris carter.

Im a huge X-files fan and my favorite thing they did was having a monster of a week type thing, the alien main sub plot was cool but I enjoyed that better.. looks like there going that direction with this movie.

I clicked on it and it came up 'forbidden'. What does the monster look like? I wonder if they will even talk about the alien virus thing.

How well do you think this film will do? The show has been dead for years and even though I was a die hard fan back in the day I can honestly say that I am not super excited for this film!

sorry on my comp the picture shows.

it looks like a werewolf I guess.

I think the movie should do well if all the old fans go and see it.... dont think any newbies will give it a shot.

I'll go. I would have liked if they at least delt with the Alien issue a bit. I mean it was the sub-premise of the whole show. Duchonvy was funny as hell. On the T.V. guide channel they were interviewing him from the set long distance. He won a big Golden Globe award and he said cable shows win that say 'F..k you' on the show where broadcast shows cant. Well he then says,.."This isnt live is it?" The announcers turned red and smirked a..a..a not anymore!" It was wild.Duchovny says "oops well better go" The next night it was on again and sure enough it was bleaped. The faces on the t.v. plastic like announcers was great.

The monster stories are the best. The alien thing was cool until it got complicated and confusing. This is good news.

:drinking:ohh how i love the x-files.:drinking:

The one with the mom's arm and legs amputated and they kept her on a creeper/dolly under the bed? She was the baby maker.:puke:

P.S. I have a McFarlane Fluke Man exclusive on my desk.:drinking:

That episode was called "Home" and was about the Peacock family. Very creepy. One of my favorites, too. Sheriff Andy Taylor....nice.

Now I realize why when I originally searched for this thread I couldn't find it so I made a new one. I only searched within the Movies (Non-horror) forum. Never really considered The X-Files a horror show/movie...

There were definitely creepy episodes ('Home' from season 4...), but as a whole, just never thought of it as a horror show.

Holy shit I forgot all about that Peacock family episode!! I was never really a big X-Files fan, but that episode definitely earned a spot in TV history!

Extremely excited about the movie. I've been trying to watch the episodes from the start of season one right through to the end, I'm currently at the end of the sixth, with three to go. I loved the show as a kid, and now I'm even more hooked (the conspiracy mythology episodes make sense to me now). I do think the subtitle is pretty lame however, in spite of the old-school reference. The first-person just doesn't sit right in that title.

It sounds too much like a videogame title.

I have the seasons too but have only watched up to season four. Ima put it in later!:drinking:

Looks pretty good, I guess. I wasn't a huge fan of the show, but I liked the first movie so I'll definitely give this one a shot.

saw it today and I was let down. It was great seeing the characters again but the story lacked. Nothing major ever really happened..... no big key points from the show and not really any nods (besides some old names and characters) That would have been fine to leave the show out of it but at least make this story "good" it was just bland and lacked any real umph. Hopefully this first one was treated like an "orgins" type film and if they make a followup it will be like more classic episodes.
Id like to see a full length version of home.. best episode
