I have high hopes for this one.
I love sci-fi and I am really glad FOX can finally have one that looks half-way decent.

It has been a desert for good sci-fi programming there since way back to the Babylon 5 series.

I really want to like this show, and it looks like its going to have some decent FX and a good enough story, but the acting looks very corn ball, I saw a comercial for it where who I assume to be a boy band looking john conner is getting into a car and says "I call shotgun" and the terminator chick says " I can nine millemeter" and it just sounds sooo forced and cornball , they need to leave that crap out IMO, leave the 1 liners to arnold and just concentrate on making a good story and this could work.

I also got one other problem with this show, that is sarah conner , the sarah conner in this show is way too young, she looks like johns older sister not his mother, she looks what, 35 ish? in t2 she was 42 - 43 ish, so she has DE-aged 7 years in the 1- 2 years since t2 took place.


the poster above has a good point too, the more comercials i see for this the more it reminds me of that abysmal new bionic turd, err, bionic woman show they put on.

Like i said , I really want to like this, but the more I see and the more I think about it, the less likely it seems this will be good.

Ouch, don't let Linda Hamilton know what you think of her age. ;) She was 34 when T2 was being filmed, and right now Lena Headey is 34 as well. If you consider that in the movie Terminator I believe Sarah Connor was in her early 20s. So if John Connor was 14 in T2 that would put her in her mid-30s as well. I think she actually fits the part well.

hamilton was 28 when t1 was shot, she was born in 56, came out in 84, so if john was 14 in t2 that should have made her 42, now i realize linda hamilton didnt actualy age 14 years in the 7 years between the movies, but still , i dont care for the look of this new sarah conners, for 1 she looks way too much like the new jammie summers from the new bionic turd.

believe it or not, hoakey dialouge, backstreet boy john conner, and questionable sarah conner aside, i still have some what moderate hopes for this show if the action and plot is good all that other crap can be over looked.

I went in to this full well expecting it to be horible, and was quite suprised, its actualy pretty well done, john conner isnt as much of a pretty boy as I thought, the new sarah conner seems ok, the jury is still out on the "good" terminator that acompanies john and sarah, but the action was well done, im definatly looking forward to watching some more episodes of this one, hopefuly it continues to be good.

but to be honest, its not about a bunch of single , 20 something , hard bodies stranded on an island or in a house in LA so it most likely will get cancelled after 3 episodes ( can ya tell im still pissed about journeyman? )

all in all id give the first episode 7 1/2 of 10,

definatly not what i was expecting, and for once thats a good thing.

It was pretty solid - I will watch tomorrow night as well. I must say I agree with those of you who think the one liners should be left tuuu ahhhnooold. The only part that made me want to put a screwdriver in my eye is when the chick terminator said "Come with me if you want to live"..... :x
I didint buy that part, she sounded to squeaky - its like if you told Sarah Jessica Parker to say "GET TOOO THEE CHAAPAA! NOW!" - does not work.

Aside from this, good FXs, good casting for bad terminator, and connor kid is well played - remember, he WAS a punk in T2.

in all seriousness, if a show doesnt get 10+ million viewers a week it gets the axe, sucks, but thats the way it is these days, this show probaly would have stood a better chance on FX or Sci fi, but we shall see how it goes, maybe itll get the ratings, guess time will tell.

I thought it was just "meh". It had good fx and a good lead bad terminator.. as well as Dean Winters (sarahs boyfriend) being in it.

the one liners were just too much for me. The minute he said "class dismissed" come on.

I might watch it again. how about having teh worst cops ever? buddies get shot with shotgun and they stay in there patrol car?

well i watched it and tell you the truth i watched about 10 mins of it. it was so bad that i literally went to my kitchen grabbed a bottle of JD and drank myself until i thought it was good. And i was really drunk and it still sucked. maybe next time ill watch it and take a hit of my "cig" everytime i think im going to change the channel. i really didn't think this show was going to be any good. any spin off of a movie really has a dying chance to survive. so poor fox. only good show out of fox is Family guy. even they messed that up for years. lol

Anyways I watched the Sarah Connor Chronicles, and I liked it suprisingly more than I thought I would. It has some good action, a nice story and good acting. The only problem I have with it is that good andriod. She seems to have too much emotion to be a robot.

I like the Terminator movies pretty good I guess, but I don't own any of them. This show looks kinda lame to me from the commercials. Maybe I'll check it out one day if nothing else is on, but I'm very angry at Fox at the moment for putting it on in place of the Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad Sunday night line up. Why do they always have to ruin my favorites with goddamned sports or specials?:x

When I heard there was going to be a Terminator TV series called Sarah Conner Chronicles, I got this idea of a TV series that would feel nothing like the films, have drawn out silly low action sci/fi plots and have poor production values and bad speciel effects. And you know what? I wasn't wrong.

I liked the first two episodes, will have to watch more of the show, though it takes a little adjustment trying to imagine John Conner played by a different actor, Sarah too. Nice action scenes, I like the robot chick.

Still haven't watched this show, but the commercials are looking more interesting. Probably will wait until it's cancelled after a season or two and gets picked up by Sci-Fi channel for reruns.:roll:

I think its great. I was surprised when i saw the first couple episodes. I'm glade it has the violence that it needs and wasn't entirely watered down. I look forward to seeing where they take it. Granted the future has already been written.

Next week is a 2 hour season ender. I tell you this stuff is just good all around. I've been on board from the beginning and haven't been disappointed. I think you can catch previous episodes on Fox.com, at least the last couple.

I haven't heard anything about this being picked up for a 2nd season but i would be surprised if it wasn't.

It was also cool that they used Johnny Cash's "When the Man Comes Around" during that sequence. I just wished that they didn't use that shot under the water throughout the entire shootout. Showing what acually happened definately would've made it better. Overall I liked the show quite a bit, and hope for the 2nd season to arrive soon.

I hear you on wanting to see what was happening but i felt like we already knew what was going to happen.:lol:

The body count was great and i thought the underwater shot was a neat way to do it without actually being in the room.

One of the best things in DotD 04 was the Cash tune. I think it worked in this set as well.

I found it interesting that he was the only surviver that we know of. He couldn't possibly tell his superiors that a robot from the future killed 20 FBI special forces.:lol: Sarah Conner would have to bust him out of the loony bin.:loon:

I was thinking about the FBI agent being kept alive was so the Terminator had someone to track as he was having a tough time finding Conner. :think:

It makes a helluva lot more sense than any of my theories! I just thought the cyborg was out of bullets, or saw that the agent wasn't going to shoot him. Either way, at least there will be a chance for this to be explained if a second season is aired (but with the large list of shows on FOX that got cancelled before the end of the second season, I'm not holding my breath on this one).

I like the fact that Cameron is making mistakes--she is more unpredictable, and human, that way. I keep expecting her to turn on John again and start showing more emotions.

I also like the way John is becoming more of a rebel. His character was a bit dry before. Riley is spicing things up. (Also the fact that he killed someone.)

Sarah is also becoming more believable. She was too hard on the surface before.

Catherine Weaver and Agent Ellison I could do without. Perhaps there is a story coming from them, but I am not getting it.

Cromartie is fantastic! I love his character. So cold and ruthless! He is also pretty funny in some ways. I loved the scene with him and the homeless girl when they were searching house to house for John! :clap: :lol:

I've been digging this season, I was a little worried about where they were going with the story after last seasons unexciting ending...:doh:

My only problem with this show is how uninspiring Sarah is as a character. It is like the Robocop TV series where Robocop gets his butt handed to him every show, and barely squeaks out a win - without many wins in Sarah's case. I think the last three episodes have been the best of this season, and I am hoping they can end it on a strong note.

Been watching the first season on Blu Ray and like many, I don't know what to make of it. It doesn't seem to really go anywhere, and I honestly miss Linda Hamilton.

wow talk about a pointless shock killing Derek????? It seemed like a good move for a different show... But to all of the sudden hit with some random reality just came off as jarring. All of the sudden a Terminator has accurate aim while shooting at one of the main characters??? Yeah they are packing the show up.

It was point blank and I always wondered why the Terminators weren't better shots.:think: With computer targeting programs and all....also they are killing machines and don't do a very good job at hitting anything sometimes....:lol:

SPOILERS: I am so not happy with the killing of Derek!!!~ I really liked his character. (Not to mention he was the cutest guy in the show. :doh:) The killing of Charlie was also a pisser! I would of liked to have seen more of him in the episodes. He added a touch of normalcy to everything.

As for Sarah, she can stay in jail as far as I am concerned...her character is a little flat (and I don't mean in the chest department boys! :lol:) She has become less likeable as the series goes on. John, however, is becoming more interesting. I like where they are taking his character. I will be disappointed if they cancel the show. :-(

As mentioned before the show is done. I'm fairly ticked considering I just had to let go of BSG and now this. At least BSG was a choice by the creative team but this is another one lost to ratings. Networks are still using the old paradigm of tracking a shows success... They like the music industry still don't understand that there old idea's are antiquated and need to understand the internet.
