Slated for a December 12, 2008 release.

Keanu Reeves - Klaatu

At first I was astonished at the choice of Keanu Reeves as Klaatu, don't get me wrong, I liked Bill & Ted's and The Matrix, but the man just can't act. Anyway, I'm over it now and think that maybe Keanu actually is an alien and can play the part just fine. So now I'm really looking forward to seeing what becomes of the remake of this classic!

The threat of nuclear war is still there for Klaatu to address and he can tell us about terrorism is bad and warn us about Global Warming and stem cell cloning. If the storyline sounds good and the trailer is intriguing, then it may be worth a look. I wonder what Gort will look like?

"Ummm.... Klaatu isn't the Robot. Klaatu is the guy who travels with the Robot. The Robot's name is Gort."

Well the first movie that always comes into my head when I hear "Keanu Reeves" is Speed. No robot there. Also no robot in Constantine, Dracula or Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. There might be one more but don't count on it

Since it's updated, instead of the kid, Bruce Campbell should play Ash.

To save Klaatu, Ash has to say "Klaatu Barada Nikto" to Gort but forgets the words and mumbles it to Gort and Gort destroys Earth!

Klaatu's last words are: "Whoa... Bummer, Dude!"

This the old movie with the metal guy who walks out of a flying saucer and says that humanity is horrible?

This will be an interesting remake.
