I rented this from blockbuster today. It is very loosely based on I am Legend and Omega Man. It is by no means a good movie but it is entertaining. Some pretty good zombie/infected action.

I have it on my Netflix. Hopefully, I get it in the next month or so. I've heard a lot of bad things about it, but that's never stopped me before. I'll swing by and post my opinions once I've seen it.

Saw this one on the shelf at Blockbuster a couple of weeks ago, but they only got one copy and it was checked out. Might try again this week.

I bought it, watched it, it was okay.

The film doesn't round up too well and really leaves the viewer unsatisfied once it's over. It's one of those, "That's it?" type of endings. The zombies were pretty decent looking but honestly, I think it was the same 8 or 9 people in slightly altered costumes placed in different areas to create a mass effect.

I don't understand why some directors think this works - if Zombie A is on the right of the screen standing next to Zombie B in one shot, then in the next Zombie A is in a different T-shirt and is now next to Zombie D - do they honestly think NO ONE will notice??? Especially when it's a lingering shot.

Oh well, surprisingly the acting was pretty decent - for an Asylum film and the gore effects were fun too. The only complaint I really have is our hero is shot 3 times, twice in the chest, once in the knee,
not even an hour later he's pushing a car down the road and kicking an ex-marine's ass.
Doesn't make much sense considering he has 3 bullets in him and no visible means of wound repair.

Some spoilers ahead!

The scene on the cover is NOWHERE in the movie.

The opening scenes were *very* much like Omega Man. Dacasos did a good job of playing out a very lonely existence. The rest of the movie isn't, but fear not! There are other things to keep you interested. Things such as crazy marines interested in maintaining the status quo at the cost of a cure, but not repopulating the planet when they find the only woman in town? And no, the girl isn't secretly undead working for the new regime.

The whole chop-sockying zombies at times was weird. You have a gun, but choose to h2h an infected? I'm a dyed-in-the-wool headshot kind of guy though.

I agree about the ending. It's a budget flick...whaddaya expect? I'd give it a 2/4.

This was fun and entertaining. Actually, I probably had more fun watching this then I am likely to have seeing the Smith version. It could have been better but I wasn't all bad.

My thing with this sort of cash in is that when you're doing a low budget rip off of a mainstream movie, you should really fill it with lots of gore and naked chicks. Hell, you're being exploitive to begin with.

Not available for rent here. Big fan of "Omega Man" so I had to order it off amazon.

In this movie I am Omega, is the characters name Robert Neville?

No, it's just one of Asylum's cash ins like Snakes On A Train. It's just a low budget rip off of a mainstream film. Fun if your not too discriminating.

Well, I watched the whole thing last night and it wasn't too bad. It was kind of different from the Original. The way the infected looked, sunlight didn't affect them. The living in a lonely existence part pretty well acted I thought.
What was the director thinking by using the same car that particualr make and model of car the white and green color? Probably the same one painted over for budget reasons.

I was surprised by this one. I thought the locations were actually alot better and more realistic than what they did with I Am Legend. Plus the vampires (or zombies) were far superior to the cartoons running after Will Smith. Not bad for a cheap cash-in knock off film.

This one left me mixed. As for the plot, I felt it needed work. So did most of the characters. Some of their actions and dialogue were either really silly to me or difficult for me to fathom. Some of the action was pretty cool though and the "infected" looked pretty good. Plenty of shock moments were tossed in well and the locations were used wisely. I'll watch it again at some point. It wasn't my favorite by far, but it was a worthy independent entry into the genre.

That was one of their better ones? I know now that I don't want to watch one of their worse movies.

Yep, I gotta say it was one of Asylum's better rip offs, too...

I watched this on Sci-Fi recently.
Or should I say SyFy?

It was alright I guess.
Nothing special.

I think that the infected looked kind of odd, and that there was a lack of story.

I really enjoyed this film, definitely better than the Omega Man:puke: Wasn't the main actor from Crying freeman?

Isnt the main guy one of those 'Bruce Lees' they found in the 70s. Very likeable guy. Isn't he Iron Chef America? Neat, he does that eye thing with an apple or red pepper. (If you have seen the Japanese guy that started the thing you will know what I mean)
