Main Page updates

What's going on there? Nothing new since over a year ago? It wouldn't be possible to have someone drop little gems like "Such and Such Movie comes to DVD or Theater on Such and Such Date?" Just an idea.

As far as I recall - except for the time when I was looking after the News page a couple of years back - updates have always been infrequent. I guess DeadKev just doesn't have the time - hell, he hasn't even posted on the boards since August.

Yeah. I know a few years back it was a lot more frequent. I suppose it's just somewhat disappointing.

actually i was wondering if the admin would let me give them some advice and perhaps makes this forum a tad bit better. i use to be a mod for ifskinzone and well tell you the truth this forum could look amazing with the right touch. ( im not saying this forum doesn't look good just could use some much needed work)

I wouldn't say that's an entirely fair reply. There's no way in hell the website COULDN'T POSSIBLY have been updated a few times in the last two years. It just doesn't seem likely that NOBODY has been able to take 15 minutes here and there out of almost 700 days to put up a news update or e-mail somebody and say..."HEY you're a site guy now. Put up some updates. Thanks."

In my experience a lack of updates like this is a site killer.

its funny because i have the thing you called "a life" im pretty sure thats how you say it. but yea i have one of those and the funny thing is i can still spend 5 mins to update a site during the week to make it look better to attract more members and get more threads and everything for the site. im pretty sure your "life" is so cool and busy

this is true, when I first found ATZ I remember seeing the main page and thinking " well shit the site is dead, that sucks" and I went back to google, and kept searching down the list and found the ATZ forums and figgured I would check them out, I was quite suprised the forums were as active as they were ( still are ) considering how old the news on the front page was.

makes me wonder how many people see that front page and dont bother with the forums, just turn away and leave :doh:

Hard to say, since I'm not aware of any tracker that keeps tabs on visitors to the frontpage - at least none that DeadKev ever made me aware of.

That said, I quit my position as the ATZ news editor because I felt no-one actually looked at the page. It just felt like an exercise in total frustration. I'd go hard out to get at least three items of news per day, only to enter the forums and find that everyone was getting their news directly from other sites anyway. So I basically threw in the towel and the news page has been moreorless dead since then.

Frustrating to say the least. I'd do it if I could, unfortunately there are only two folk that have access to this, and i'm not one of them.
