"I posted this announcement in my Shameless Plugs Thread.........."

http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8945

"And a friend suggested I post it in here as well, so here goes........"

"HEY GUYS!!"
"Many of you know me for my stories and such, more than anything else. Well, Fans, I have a quest for you.":)

"I have notice a lot of folks getting their start through forums, like a few posters in this one. And I have been thinking a lot, lately, about working on a movie. I have a story, but it's not a Horror, Sci Fi or Zombie Movie. It's a Fantasy. Very much along the same genre lines as Eragon, Willow, Lord of The Rings and Dungeons & Dragons/Dungeons & Dragons 2: Wrath of the Dragon God. With a bit of Krull and Conan style stuff thrown in."

"What I need is a crew and people. I want to film in the Northwest area of the States, as I find the land there beautiful. It has a wide mix of terrains, as well as climates. This could include lower Southwest Canada as well."

"If you are interested in helping me create my dream, PM me. Only serious minded folks please, as it may require temporary relocationing. I believe that together we can make this happen, and from there the door will be open for all of us to full fill our movie dreams."

"I have a dream..................care to help me make it real?"

"Just so you know, I know I said this is a 'Fantasy' story, but don't get the wrong idea, please."

"There will be dark slimy critters, demons, devils, wars, fights in hell, fights in the Hall of the Gods, lots of one on one battles and all the stuff that makes a Fantasy good, IMHO. This is no soft love story, its an epic tale of a struggle to save a Universe torn apart by a devious Dark Tyrant. It will have futuristic laser fights, and old fashion sword and stone fights, even mid style gun fights. It's set in the future, in a universe all its own. Some planets are well advanced, some still hide in the old styles, all are fighting to survive against the looming darkness."

"Have I gotten your attention yet?" :)

"I notice this thread is getting lots of views, but no PM responses. Perhaps there are some questions you would like to ask me first." :)

What's the budget?
Who will pay for relocation?
Who will house people after relocating?
Who will feed people after relocating?
Is there a cast selected yet?
What positions are you looking to fill?
How much is the pay?
What are you using to shoot the film? Film stock or digital?
Is there a script written?
How long will the film be?
How will FX & CG be accomplished and who will be handling it?
What kind of contracts will be involved?
Will there be some kind of monetary compensation should the project fall through and cast/crew are forced to re-relocate?
Which states are you looking to shoot this in?
What are your age requirements?
What is the film about exactly?
What do you plan to bring to the table that the films you brought up haven't?

Dreams are great but reality requires a few more specifics.

"I have a story, pictures of the characters, planets, landscapes, etc. I'm a writer, and I have a dream of making my story into a movie. I have nothing but the story and the dream right now. I'm looking for all the rest. The crew, the cast, the supporters, everything needs to be found. I gotta start somewhere, so it might as well be here." :)

"If anyone is interested, let me know what you can contribute, and I'll let you know if I can use your skills. Most likely I can." ;-)

How about just answering these questions...

Who will pay for relocation?
Who will house people after relocating?
Who will feed people after relocating?

Travel costs, housing and food can't be purchased with good intentions and character designs.

"I need to get financial support, along with all the rest. That's one of the things I'm looking for. I'm starting from the bottom, I know, it's not easy. But it's the only place I have to start."

"I have been pondering what TBD said, and I got an idea. Okay, starting off with my big story may not be such a good idea, granted. For other reasons as well."

"So how about lets start off with one of my short stories and make a smaller film, to get some attention first. I have two or three we can pick from, that would need less to complete. They can be done with minimum locations, cast and crew, and little special effects if any."

"Does this sound more feasible?" :)

Have you worked on anything else or will this be your 1st time making a movie? If so you may want to just pick up a camera and start practicing filming shots that look good and learn how to tell a story through visuals. Start small. You could put together an entire crew for your fantasy, and after one day of filming realize the experience wasn't what you were expecting. It's alot of hard work.
Good luck.

"Yes, it's my first time at this, but not the first I've thought about it. Just the first time I put out a call for random help. But I have been planning this for many Many MANY years. I opened the topic here because of the totally universal collection of random talent that gathers here."

"I can't afford the camera and equipment to do this myself. I'm just another wandering random starving artist. (I know, 'They're Everywhere!! They're Everywhere!!!') I'm looking for other wandering random starving artists, who want to band together and make something great."

"What I am attempting to do, is to gather them together, to make a movie by the posters, for the posters, to benefit the posters of ATZ. To collect together all this random talent, and work on creating a movie making team."

"I have a few stories, plus I can do costumes, stage sets and props, some make-up and a few special effects. That's what I can bring to this team."

"Anyone else can to join my team?" :)

I would need a six month notice in order to attend filming and add my assistance.

I could stay 2 weeks

I can and will travel at my own expense and provide my own room and board.

I can also provide some movie prop weapons that you might need. . .

My offer is to assist in anyway I can. . . Free of charge! (the adventure is enough)

I hope other members of ATZ will do the same. . . .

A “Dream is a terrible thing to waste”

"Thank you. I look forward to the prospect of working with you, especially choreographing the fight scenes and such. I'll need a lot of help there. Welcome aboard, 8mm!!" :)

I can't go but i can get it on youtube for sure

Also i have been working with movies for about 2 months and it really doen't need a script

i made a 10 episode long show with only the base of the first minute of another one and it's great

you need one thing for a script-IMPROVE!

that helps alot

"Well, summers coming! Which means good light, and weather, for filming outdoors. So I am going to see if I can collect a few people, and at least get some trailers done."

"Wish me luck." :)

The story sounds really awesome. I like stuff like this.
Willow is one of my all time favorite movies by the way.
Darkness, believe me if I had the money I would support you in making this film. Well I support you anyways. Just not financially. Good luck with it. Maybe if all the balls get to rolling I would love to be an extra or at least something to help you out.
