"When I first started posting here, I was overwhelmed by questions running through my head. Questions like 'How do I edit a post?' and 'How do I delete one of my posts when I make a mistake?' as well as the famous question, as of late, 'How do I use the Spoiler Command?'. Well here's a thread to ask your fellow posters for help on Forum Commands. This way we can all learn from each other, and make posting easier for all here." :)

Good Idea! I had trouble at first with posting as well.

Not to be a smart-ass, but one thing people may wish to consider is reviewing the FAQ in the links on the menubar. That pretty much describes the standard information for this type of board.
There is also the spoiler tag used as such:
At the end of xxx I cannot believe the killer is yyy
can be shown with [ spoiler ] [ / spoiler ] as such:
Wow, I cannot believe that Frankenstein dies at the end of that movie! It was so sad!

I think it's a great idea, Darkness.
Even though I relied on the FAQ when I first started, there were still times when I had trouble posting images or editing posts or deleting double posts.
I learned through trial and error, but there are still a few things I'm trying to figure out. Like how to do multiple quotes from different posts.
I just hope that nobody degrades anyone for a question that may seem obvious because then people might be afraid to post questions.

"How's this......Rule Number ONE: The only stupid question is an unasked one." :)
"Personally, I use the 'Double Window' technique for quoting multiple posters. I open a second window to the Thread, and copy paste the quotes I want to respond to. Adding my comments to each in between. There may be another way, but this works best for me. I hope it helps." :)

"Here's another one I find myself reminding new comers of........Temporary Archived Threads. When searching the Sections for topics most newcomers don't realize that there are more pages than what they can immediately see."
"This is why.....After a certain time period, (Which I can't recall just how long this is. Sorry.) threads are put into a Temporary Archive. They are NOT gone, just in storage. How do you find them? That's actually very easy......."
"At the bottom of every Section, such as 'Chat Lounge', 'Zombie Talk', 'Shameless Plugs', as well as all the rest, there is a tool bar called 'Display Options'. There you will see a drop-down menu labeled 'From The'. open this and select the bottom choice, 'Beginning', then 'Show Threads'. This will show you all the Threads presently still listed, back to the start of that Section."
"For example, The US&D Section has been closed for so long that all but one Thread has been 'archived'. So when you open it, it looks like there is only one left. When in fact, there are still six full pages in there."
"So, happy searching, and I hope this helps." :)

"Deleting Double Posts."
"Click on edit, under the edit window you will find a delete choice. You will get a second window, click on delete option again." (Look close, on some computers the second one is hard to see.)

You may have to host your own pictures through Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) or ImageShack (http://home.imageshack.com/).
Then, you use the IMG tags here at the forums: insert image URL here.
The IMG tags should work with both .JPG files and .GIF files.

If you want to show nice, full size images then do what Subgenius has suggested in the previous post... However, if you want to upload a pic directly off your hard drive then follow these directions in our FAQ: Attachments and Images (http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_vb3_attachment s) (How do I attach a file to a post?)
Please Note:
When attaching a pic to a post in this manner, the pic will appear as a thumbnail icon, and not an image... An 'Image Approval Request' is then sent to ATZ's Admin Control Panel where the attachment must then be approved by myself or DeadKev... If you decide to post a pic using this method, feel free to contact me by PM to speed up the process. http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1&pictureid=1

I don't have any personal experience, with which I can share regarding other Image Hosting Sites, but I do know there are several others out there in cyberspace... Just go to Google.com and type in "Free Image Hosting"... You'll be provided with several alternatives to Photobucket and ImageShack. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/Signs%20and%20Gestures/google13pd.gif

How do I edit my rank to say whatever I want?
For example, yours doesn't have Zombie General, Zombie Seargent, etc.

Nope, that's not true. :naughty:
It's a public forum which means anyone can join, and you don't even need my help. :)
Just follow the instructions in this thread: ATZ Movie Night: How Do I Join? (http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16237)http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/huh.gif

Yeah, I would think so. :)
Here's something I found in the Avatar Editor:
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 200 pixels or 48.8 KB (whichever is smaller).

I'm having a problemwhen chaing avatars lately. where it says The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 29.3 KB (whichever is smaller). its not accepting avvies 29.3 KB or smaller if they are still larger than 100 x 100. And i am trying to use old avvies I've used in the past and it says too large, and their KB size is smaller than 29.3.
anyone having this problem ?

We had a pretty lengthy discussion about this in the not-too-distant past, and actually gnereated some good ideas about how we can all help make the site a better place in general, even if the front page never changes.
Here's the link to the thread, in case you want to check it out: A Petition for Change (http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21034&highlight=petition+change)
