I just watched this rental last night, it wasn't too bad. Its a pre-romero type zombie film, no blood, no gore, no rotting flesh. But it was still entertaining.
Filmed in 1957, it is set on the coast of Africa at a plantation owned by this old woman. 60 years before, her husband, a sea captain and his crew had found a casque of cursed diamonds. The crew fought over them, killed each other and sank the ship. The captains widow built the plantation on the coast near the site of the sinking after she heard that he and his crew and been seen as the walking dead in the area. Over the years various search teams have tried to recover the diamonds from the wreck, but to all be slain by the zombie sailors. Now a new group has arrived to try their luck. The old widow wants the diamonds found so they can be destroyed (scattered to the sea) to free her husband from the curse.
The zombies look the same as when they were alive, but for their un-blinking stare. Bullets have no effect and they are supernaturally strong. Only fire drives them back. A pretty good effect was done when the salvage diver (our hero) is in a deep sea diving suit at the wreckage. Air bubbles (soap bubbles probably) are drifting up from his helmet as he walks about, as behind him the zombie sailors approach, walking across the ocean bottom.
No gore, but an amusing story.
