I'm looking at the Zombi Anniversary Edition (2 disk set) versus the Zombi (same film, American title) one-disk edition.

The 2 disk is about twice as much. I like special features, but I dunno how much I'll care about this one in particular. Are any of the special features included worth the extra dough? Is the video quality of the one-disk as good?

Both discs are almost identical in quality - I think there's a slight difference in the coloring which is not even remotely noticeable by the naked eye.

The extras on the Shriek Show release are very informative but if it's something you don't think you'll care about - go for the Blue Underground release.

You can probably get the 2-disc edition for a reasonable price through a third party seller on Amazon though - Amazon's A-to-Z guarantee protects you from being ripped off by anyone so don't let that concern you. I actually wouldn't be surprised if you got the 2-disc edition for the price of the single disc edition new from Amazon.

Here's a good comparison review; DVD Comparison (http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompare3/zombie.htm)

Had to take ya off the ol' ignore.

There was a used copy of the 2-disk for something like 14 bucks that qualified for SuperSavers (I had the Ultimate edition of Dawn in my cart, as well, so it was over 25 bucks), but it sold. Now the cheapest is a bit more.

I'll just hold out til Christmas, I guess. It's annoying that everything that qualifies for SuperSavers, most of the time, is twice as much as the same product that doesn't. Some deal.

Well keep shopping around, I'm sure you'll find it for a reasonable price.

My only gripe with the 2-disc edition is on the interviews no one seemed to have their facts straight, one guy says the film was very successful then the producers claim it was very unsuccessful, it's like none of them worked on the same film. Or just didn't have a clear memory of what went on.

On the comparison featured on that site, you can notice the difference in quality between the BU release and SS release but like I said it's slight and really if extras are something you're not really looking for with this type of film - go for the BU release. Not only is it a great buy but the presentation is slightly better with motion animated menus and such. Granted that shouldn't be a factor in the choice to whether or not to buy a DVD but in this day and age, there's no excuse for a studio not to use motion menus anymore. It's not a new thing.
