Hi all,
Well I'm a little excited about an idea I have and just need to share it with someone other than my wife.

I've been hemming and hawing about making films for awhile now (almost 2 years) but the equipment expense has always stopped me from taking the plunge. I mean 2k on a camera, more on lights, even more on sound equipment...My god, its a lot of money to sink into a hobby you arent even sure if you are really going to enjoy. Right?

Well anyway, I've decided to take a smaller plunge and try it out to see if I even like directing and producing. So heres my plan.

Without spending a ton of money on equipment, I'm going to shoot a 2-3 minute trailer for a project I am calling "Potters Field", the concept is for Potters Field to be a web series. It will focus on following a group of survivors after a plague outbreak has decimated society as we know it. I am hoping that after the trailer I will know if this trully is something I can warrant spending such big bucks on, and then commit to making full length episodes for peoples viewing pleasure.

Further in the concept I really want to focus on the survivors, how they cope with things, what they have to do to survive, and how bad people (in my belief) would really become if a plague decimated our society.

Thoughts, Criticisms all are welcome please talk it out with me if you think the idea of a web series of this sort might be interesting.

I think its a good idea. It will keep the cost down and also give you some feed back on weather to actualy shoot the whole thing. And sounds like a decent idea, the only thing is what sceens to shoot for the trailer? but good luck:)
