Crap! Bought the German DVD release which was advertised as having the original English language soundtrack on it, but it does NOT! :x

Dude, I know! I read that on Amazon.de and low & behold there is NO English audio track on that German DVD. The translation sucks too. I speak very little German, but I know enough words to know that they aren't using the right verbs for what we intended.

Plus they opted for the inferior sound mix too. Hold out for the U.S. DVD and the Dolby 2.0 sound mix is the best (even the 5.1 Surround mix).

HORRORS OF WAR is a real movie too. We shot it on film. It's played in some theatres.

Michael Mann did a Nazi supernatural alien movie called THE KEEP that's interesting.

Except for the incredibly cheezy FX work, it's very much a Michael Mann movie. The cinematography is exceptional, the actors are all now heavy hiters (A very young Ian McKellan, Gabriel Byrne, and Jurgen Prognow with Scott Glenn. The moveiw as from 1981 before even the Miama Vice thing.

THE KEEP. I found a letterbox laserdisc and loved seeing it again, flaws and all. Again, editorially and camera wise - Michael Mann has a definitive style in his close ups, choices, etc. Put this movie up against HEAT and COLLATERAL, and you can tell it was directed by the same guy.
