hey guys, Im writing a short story, but its not that long yet. here you go:
----------
I've waited for sometime now. The air smelled of summer's wet pavement mixed with a foul, gruesome nightmare. As quiet as the night was, I couldnt afford to make any mistakes of opening this janitor's closet door. The room was small and would fit two adults comfortably, but I was the only one in here. I lay, with gun in hand, staring into the bulletproof like window beside the door. On it, there was a logo that read Cadavra Corps. I ask God one more time if he could send someone, anyone, to come to my aid. Even if it were a rat, I wouldnt have given a damn. But as time passed, I realized my answers werent coming. I move away from the window and think deeply to myself. An image of my girlfriend started to manifest in my mind. I could almost feel her sweet, soft face rubbing against mine. I try to conceal my noises as the tears begin to run down my blood-soaked face. I knew she was dead. Everyone on this ****ing ship was dead. It's only a matter of time until I become one of Them.
My dream-like state was suddenly broken as a screech provoked my senses. My heart thumps loudly and fast paced as I rub the excess fluid from my right eye. I squint and look once again to the window that reads Cadavra Corps. In the somber portrait the window made, I finally make out an image. In the distance, something was running. I contemplated if it was running out of fear or of death. As an expected "thing", I jolt away from the window and crouch down, praying for those answers that would never come. I grab my gun and glaze into my silver reflection. The cold metal starts to make me shiver. I lift it up and raise it onto my temple. My face starts to get hot and red as I think of these last few seconds of life. Gripping the gun tightly, my fingers turn white. Two shots fire. I flench as those two loud bursts of explosions vibrate my chess. I lay shocked and absent minded. The gun falls out of my hand and makes a loud clank onto the freezing cement platform. To my surprise, I noticed clearly that it was from outside. It took me a while to notice from my distorted state, but I soon realized that whatever I saw pass by was human. The yelling intensified and the moans of those Things became more malicious. Those few seconds felt like hours. The loud commotion began to to die down as order finally took place. Acknowledging that whoever that was is now dead, I immediately felt abandoned and helpless once again.
Another frantic noise peirced into my ear drum as I jumped from the fright. It was coming from my right pocket. I reached deep into the military issued uniform pocket and explored. I pulled out the square object and examined it's bright aqua colored text that displayed the words "New Text Message". At that glorious moment, I felt all the stress lift upon me. I pressed onto the silver button and studied it's information. "Go 2 room 12B n nok twice hurry", Message from Heidi F. I stared into it's blinding light for a moment. Knowing my mission, I raised the numbing weapon and inspected it's capacity. To my surprise, it was empty the whole time. It's lethal clip was still secured in my ammunition holster. I reach to grab it and lodge it into it's partner. Clocking the gun, I hear the deathly sound of the hallow tip collide into it's chamber. The adrenaline rush overwhelms me.
